I need the dimensions on a gen 1 tall roll bar!!
Sweet. That little hatch seems like a pretty rare car. I've never seen another one around here since I got it last fall. Well, after an oil pump rebuild, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, and some carb work she's alive (and purring like a kitten)and not bleeding like a stuck pig anymore.!!!!!!!!! The motor needs a GOOD degreasing to get all the oil off but I let it idle for an hour and found 2 drops of old oil on my cardboard. I can live with that!!!! Yahooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! fshnidiot

I need the dimensions on a gen 1 tall roll bar!!
Thankyou sir! I just measured the hatch area on the Sentra and that's not gonna fit unless it does come apart. I guess I've got enough duct tape to stick it on the roof and tell the state patrol it's there for my protection. Think they'll buy that one? Thanks again, Frank (fshnidiot)

I need the dimensions on a gen 1 tall roll bar!!
Hi, I'm going over to pick up my roll bar for my 81 Brat in Ellensburg this Friday ($75! ) and unless I get my Brat running right I might have to take my little Nissan Sentra. It's an 87 coupe/hatchback thingy, only one I've ever seen. I'm hoping it might have enough room if I remove all my fishing gear ,drop the backseat, and bungee the hatch closed. The roll bar is one of the stock tall bars (it came on my Brat when it left the showroom)that stands taller than the roof of the cab. Does anyone out there have 1 of these and if you do can you PLEASE take measurements of the height, width, and depth and post them so I can see if it might fit? Thanks, fshnidiot

Post motor swap exhaust question
Thanks for the quick response. I'd like to pull the one on the passenger side. At startup it stays open and is loud as %#$@ for about a minute then it closes and I can hear the exhaust leak at the manifold. Is it supposed to be like that? I have the y pipe from the donor car that I could use and go with both ASV's but if there's something wrong with the 1 I'd rather remove it and silence it. The driver's side doesn't make any noise whatsoever. I have the tools to do the PITA route and pull it but I'm not exactly sure how to get it off the head. If I cut and welded shut the pipe from it and used the y-pipe from the donor car would that silence it or can it be repaired if its got a problem? Sorry for being an uneducated subie person but most of my knowledge is from my old 1400 and 1600 motors. Thanks again for any help!!! I'm trying to get it ready for the run to WCSS! Frank (fshnidiot)

Post motor swap exhaust question
Hi, I dropped an ea81 out of an 84 dl wagon into my 82 Brat. The motor that came out had 1 of the air suction valves setups on the passengers side only. The motor from the 84 has 1 on each side. Now I can't seem to get the exhaust header to seal properly against the head on the passengers side and the exhaust is rattling against the frame at the end of the y pipe. Do I need both air suction valves or can I remove the 1 on the drivers side of the motor and if I do will that help the exhaust seal and fit properly? Thanks in advance for any tips/help. Frustrated Frank:banghead: :banghead: (fshnidiot)

Please help? Got ripped off on ebay!
The seller has a responsibility to truthfully describe his vehicle. If he didn't he commited an act of fraud and can be held accountable:dead: . Contact Ebay's resolution center and they might be able to get you a partial refund:clap: . If you can afford to have it looked at by a licensed mechanic and get a list of what the problems are, that could be of good use when you present your case to Ebay and/or Judge Judy. That's still a nice lookin Brat:headbang: , definately a keeper!!! Hope that helps, Frank (fshnidiot)

WTB 1979 turn signal lens
If you're still looking for the taillight lense you might try contacting the subie dealer in Santa Cruz, Ca. I got 2 new lenses from them for my 81 Brat a few months ago and they still had access to a few more in a warehouse back east. I forget the exact price but I think I paid around $80 with shipping to get them sent to Marysville,Wa.Hope that helps!!! fshnidiot

replacement screw for my weber 32/36
Hi,The screw I lost is the one that holds on the lower arm on the auto choke body.If you go to http://www.carburetion.com/Weber/weber.htm and follow the links to the parts diagram page for the 32/36 I need parts 73, 74, and 75. 73 is a wave washer, weber part #55530.005, 74 is a bushing, weber part #12765.042, and 75 is the screw, weber part # 64700.014. If you could come up with those that would be sweet. I just dropped a used 1800 into my 82 Brat and I want to dump the hitachi and put in the Weber that came with it. Thanks, Frank
