  1. I don't know if the '94 uses left and right shafts, my '84 doesn't. You *can't* flip them around, though. Inner and outer CVs are not the same. Take it back and demand he fix the correct side. They didn't do what you asked them to. Tell him you want the other axle back.
  2. I've used a cheap come-a-long to pull a /6. It worked fine, and *them* suckers are heavy! I used McBrats method on a soob motor and it worked fine also. Make the post long enough to stick out past the fenders at least a foot or two. Squat and get your shoulders under it, then stand up.
  3. LMAO GoGrannyGo! (whyyoulittlewhippersnapperIoughta'...)
  4. I would leave the radiator hose on, but loose, then turn on the water a little, take off the radiator hose, and turn the water up.
  5. On your XT turbo? Probably all coolant hoses. How old is the water pump? How much $$ you got?
  6. Go get a prestone flush&fill kit. It allows you to connect a garden hose to the heater line. Take out the thermostat, pull off the bottom radiator hose, and turn on the water. Start the engine, and enjoy a positive flush.
  7. Be *extremely* careful when working on that digi-dash. They fry very easily. Just the alternator going out can fritz them. Seems like nobody can fix them, and they are more rare that hen's teeth in the boneyards. I noticed that squeal from one of mine on rainy days. Almost certainly bad connections. Apparently they were made with a corrosive solder that doesn't last. Find a good electronics man to re-solder all the connections and add some sort of protection circuit (xener? tube?). I have a schematic for them (the '84s) from a FSM. If you like I can scan it for you.
  8. Feces occur. Both of my cars have had one for over 5 years and have performed flawlessly.
  9. There are no inner tie rod ends on rack and pinion steering gears.
  10. Manual versus power steering? Are you sure you need the rods and not the tie-rod ends? Maybe either rod will work. Is there a difference in length?
  11. The link didn't work for me. I tend to follow the parts manufacturer's recommendations. They probably figgered out that the nut is sufficient. If it isn't, they would be liable. What do the installation instructions say?
  12. I don't know about yours (what is it?) but my '84 EA81 had a little coolant hose next to the distributor start leaking. It got the dizzy wet and made it miss.
  13. eyep, that's it. Does it run now? I'm guessing that when it is upside down it would let liquid gas run back to the tank.
  14. I believe that one is called the vapor separator? It has 3 hose fittings? I don't really understand what it does or how it works, but the top line is a return to the tank according to the FSM so I'd imagine that being upside down might not let it work properly. I don't know whether that will make a difference in how it runs or not, but I don't think it would work the way it is intended.
  15. Do I have to switch to a disc brake proporting valve, No or can I just leave the rear drum one there unchanged? Yes Would there be any advantage to going to an aftermarket unit? No If you scroll down and look under "Similar threads" you'll find a thread about just that. The search function here works well also.
  16. Visually inspect each dif. The label is clearly marked. Remember, somebody might have installed one, so check them all.
  17. Ditto what pyro said. I got one for 7 bux and it works very well. Slow, but well.
  18. Thanks, PoorManImprezza! moshem, although they are fuel lines, they don't carry fuel, only fuel vapor.
  19. I'm pretty sure. Why did you replace the lines? Did it run before? Does it run now? If it runs, I'd leave it be. That valve is part of the emission control system, and designed to let the canister store gas fumes until they're sucked into the carb. Otherwise the fumes are vented to the atmosphere, not good for the enviroment. But... if you don't have the canister, then the valve is useless. You said it's broke, so it's probably not functioning anyway. As for the gas lines, you could connect them together or plug them off as long as your gas cap is vented.
