Update: Legacy outback Struts, Transmission, rear Diff and engine installed. done some work to the engine, installed 1995 Legacy 2.2L heads (dual port) Installed Stainless UEL Header. Legacy Outback Wheels some more tinkering is needed yet.

Plans: Lift with Forester Struts, Fix Dents, Replace engine with EJ22EA Dual Port heads., Install UEL Header, install a Loud Muffler. bigger tires.

after selling my Loyale, i decided to get an automatic for easy driving. found this 1997 impreza L online asking $800 after negotiation i got him down to $600 CASH and he used hi AAA to have it towed to me, since i couldnt drive it home. has anyone completed an EA82 with EJ pistons ? if so a power increase ? local shop i know said he can bore out the block for larger pistons.

hey guys in need of a radiator for my 89 XT6 2.7L H6 Manual Trans i have a 1997 impreza, could i make this radiator work for my XT6 ? or is there another option for radiator replacement ?

so then i need to return the pahse 1 headgaskets and go buy phase 2 gaskets ?

so i need to use phase 2 2.2 heads ? i still have them..

Phase 1 Gaskets or Phase 2 Gaskets ? which is it ?

dang IT !! i just ordered the headgaskets for 1997 block.. i was told to use the block's gaskets

frankenmotor ? last i knew that was a 2.5L with 2.2L heads i'm installing Phase 2 2.5L heads on a 2.2L

yeah, i see that the coolant channels are a bit different.. shame i couldn't use the 01 gaskets, love to use the dual layer steel ones.

Fairtax4meare you sure ? ebay shows that headgaskets are not the same, i looked at the pictures and indeed they are different.. if it still works then let me know which gaskets to use, 2001 ? or 1997's ?

ok, i found a 97 impreza obs thought about buying for the engine. hope these heads are ok, if not i an install the old phase 2 heads..

hey guys, long time been on usmb i have a 2001 impreza L recently blown due to running out of oil. i have installed EJ251 heads on my impreza ran great till i ran it out of oil.. i am searching for another engine and would like to know if i could use a phase 1 ej22 in my phase 2 impreza ? change heads ? like maybe a 1997 or 1998 EJ22? with my phase 2 heads ? 1995 ? thanksi greatly appreciate the help...
