  1. I was wanting to know if their was a 15inch rim that would fit on a 2009 legacy wagon. Tires for the 18's are really expensive and it looks like the smallest you can go down to is a 17inch rim......Any suggestions??? Thanks......
  2. So let me ask u this. What if I where to knock out the baffling in the cats so they where hollow n their just for emission laws n nothing else n where able to put n X in the pipe after the hollowed out cats but within 24inches of the headers, would the O2 senser work then if it was in the X pipe then?
  3. Ok so what if I were to run two cats on each side after the headers n welded the O2 senser holes closed n ran those into a X pipe where I could put a new bung for one O2 senser so it was reading the exhaust stream from both side then run dauls out back. I want to run an X pipe anyway because it equalizes back pressure n u get a better exhaust tone. Right now I'm running my car with just the y pipe on, no mufflers n I like the deep sound I get I don't want to loss that sound.
  4. Hey guys got a question for u. I own an 85 GL wagon with the ej22 in it, my buddy who owns a suby dealership just gave me some little headers for the ej motor that came off a jap version suby. So my question is, i want to put custom true dual exhaust on it n still not throw any codes n have her run right. So is it possible to splice together the wiring from two cats (which I have) so the motor runs right. Let me just add I'm a welded by trade, work in a huge shop where I have access to any tool I need, so I'm open to any suggestions to make this work. I don't know if I'm even thinking about this the right way. I'll b making the exhaust completely from scratch all the way down to my own mufflers. But any way, suggestions on how to run 2 cats successfully? Oh p.s. live in Idaho we have emission laws so it has to have cats or I can't register it every year. thanks

  13. well as far as lifting it goes im not really sure im going to do it yet?? I have a 85 now with a 4inch lift 29inch swampers and a ej22 in it, and it a great car but im sick of putting axles in it because i use it for a daily drive and 4x4 it pretty hard!! And for the haters out there, I completely understand what a cars is worth, ive been a manager in the car business for over 7yrs now. And I understand that the money paid for this car was more then what any suby that yr should go for, but i have been looking for a really long time for the right one and honestly im sick of looking at 1000 dollar pieces of Shxx that are so backyard worked on you dont know where to start or begin when it comes to finding what the millions of A-holes have done to the thing over the last 20yrs. When I say she kept a folder with every little thing, I mean I have EVERYTHING!!! even down to every old change at 2500 miles for 25yrs. Any and all work to this thing is list and documented and nothing was done to this car outside of the Subaru Dealership her in this town. Never 4 wheel its always been garage kept, Im teling you it looks like the day it did when it came from the dealership!! And since im fresh as a daisy after a wonderful night sleep and im ready to take a dump in someone's cheer-e-o's this morning let me educate you on why the decision was made. First off the 85 turbo from the factory was only avaliable in a high geared automatic trans, this one had the crappy problematic auto trans removed and replaced with a BRAND NEW 5speed FROM THE FACTORY put in at the Suby Dealership in 2001 and equiped with 390 front and rear diff's. Second while the turd you drive doesnt stop very well this one has up graded EBC slotted rotters and pads at all 4 corners. Brand new Alpine stereo and speakers, and an interior that looks like its never seen a piece of sand EVER. Third off, I would be the first one to tell you that the ea81T is a complete nightmare, But.... not only does this have new timing, CV's, belts, hoses, temp stat, fluids, and two sets of tires on rims. I have a completely rebuilt EJ22 that is going to be filling that big whole in the engine bay where the EA81t sits!! So to all the haters before you start hating, eat a bowl of humble pie and shut it!! I dont care:lol:
  14. I found something I think every Suby nut dreams of!!! Being bored one afternoon I was surfing the local (Boise ID) craigslist used car ad's, when I came across an ad the said, 1986 XT under 100k. Not being a big fan of the XT (A Wagon Nut) I wasn't that excited intill I seen the PICTURES!!!! Here was a mint condition 1985 GL TURBO WAGON 5-speed tooties roll brown 97k original mile beauty. I instantly email the listing and got a response in minutes. The guy was selling his grandma's car who had, God rest her soul, just past away. She bought this car brand new here in Boise in 1985 and it has everything but a sunroof. She has a folder of every little thing ever done to this car since 1985, including the original window sticker for 13K. This guy had no idea what he had, completely missed advertised it and didn't want it at all. When I went and looked at it the pictures didnt lie!! It was great everything looks brand new, including new tires and snow tires on rims brand new alpine CD player and new door speakers, the engine bay is so clean you could eat off it, completely unbelievable:banana: He wanted 3500 for it and I know that sounds like alot, but it is worth the money. I came home and could shut up about it, driving my girl up the wall lol, tring to convince her that this was a great car and I want it:grin: So this was thursday of last week, it hadnt left my thoughts but, we just bought a new house so it probably wasnt the best idea for myself to buy it. So I left it at that, not think twice of it really, and headed to work this evening. around 10pm the boss cut me loss and said go home early, sweet I was thinking. I get home no one is here which is every odd because my girl should be home, so I called and she told me she was out helping a friend make a care package for her husband in IRAQ so no big deal. About 11pm I hear them pull up and she walk through the door and looks pissed and says, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!! Freaking out I jump up and run outside and its unfreaking believeable!!!!! She went and bought me THE FREAKINGGGGGGG CARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! I was completely speechless, all I could say is oh my God over and over. But this thing is sweet, I will take plenty of Pics tomorrow and post them, Im still in complete shock!!!! Oh yeah final price was 2700 bucks, not a bad deal!!
  15. barger matson is linked to all in the area

  16. oh yeah one more thing im driving the car daily its my daliy driver its only the rear 4wheel drive thats the issue. Tony~
  17. well the only reason i dont think its a trans problem is because we where giving it almost full throttle when pined against that incline and the rear part of the driveshaft was spinning as fast as the front on, so if it was in the trans the driveshaft wouldnt turn at all or slowly, right???? thats why i believe its in the rear diff. Tony~
  18. yes it is a 5speed d/r 4x4 and yes thats what the name means and no there is no grinding of any kind. yes i was looking under the car at the driveshaft when we had it up against the incline with the rear wheel off the ground the front tires where going crazy and digging into the ground and nothing from the back ones but no griding, smell or anything?? so if the 4x4 gears or gone do i need a new transfer case?? Tony~
  19. Hello again all u suby nuts its been awhile sence's ive been on here for new comers i have a 1985 gl wagon with the ej22 and a 4inch lift. i have about 6000 miles on my newly remodeled suby and its been great. all the way from the 4inch lift from ozified to the wiring harness done by chux (a suby god).. I took my suby out 4x4 on sunday and was having a blast intill i noticed that my front wheels where just digging in to the ground. i had been climbing some very steap inclines and after about an hour i stop had lunch and did some fishing then started to 4x4 again and thats when i noticed something was wrong. i wasnt getting any power to the rear wheels sh##!!! so i tried dumping the clutch in reverse to get the rear tires to spin as well ran one wheel up on the side of a incline to lift one rear wheel off the ground and nothing?? the wierd thing is the the driveshaft turns just fine all the way back to the rear diff so i thought that my rear diff was toast. so when i drove it to work today i put it on the lift key off put it in 4wheel drvie and in 1st gear and spone the rear wheels, and oddly they spone in diifferent directions so my rear diff is ok. so i turned the car on wheels off the ground in 4wheel drive and 1st and the rear wheels spone on there own. however i could grab either rear wheel with my hands and stop them so my problem isnt my diff then right?? i'm thinking it might be my transfore case but im not sure how to tell or test that. needless to say with the car in the air in 4wheel drive and in 1st all for wheels turn in the right directions, but there is absolutely NO POWER TO THE REAR WHEELS WHEN ITS ON THE GROUND:mad:  but then y is the driveshaft turning with out delivering power?? so maybe it is the diff?? all i know is i need help because it makes me sick not being able to 4x4. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tony~
