  1. by the way if you are in the market for a set of super swampers, then this is the site for you http://www.4wheelparts.com. just keep your eyes open because they run specials all the time like buy three get one free, free shipping, or just money off any tire. Its were I bought my tires they are 29x8.50x15 TSL, they are the tire that Allied armament told me to get. They are great and look great!!!!! Tony~ :headbang:
  2. it all is based on how you drive, like if you 4x4 hard and drive aggressive they will wear out faster. I sell car and see alot of trucks out here with super swampers and id say about 15-25,000 mile is about the life of the super swampers.. Tony~
  3. so what size are you going to use?? Tony~
  4. Hey Guys, I'm almost done with my ej22-ea82 swap, lift, tires, wiring, and everything else is done!! all I have left is a couple of wires to hard wire in. Numbchux did the wiring for my so all ive had to do is put it in and feed it into the cabin of the car. I wanted to know where to look to find out what wire is what behind the dash of my ea82, like whats what. I need to wire in a oil light, temp wire, starter wire, fuel relay wire and dont know what wires under my dash are what?? so if anyone has a diagram or knows where i can look to find this out that would be great!! Thanks Tony~
  5. Ok, to reply to what you said: for a back yard mechanic that doesnt have alot of tools and know how ( not refering to any of you) Just looking at the overall cost to what is easier to do. replacing the boot, boot kit (Autozone) $24.95+tax then big tube of grease $11.99 = at 6% tax(Idaho) $39.15 if thats all you need. Plus working in a very tight location if the axle isnt completely removed and on top of that a very nasty messy job to do. And most likely its been torn for a while, so for me..... The cost differents of (new axle $64.99+tax and lifetime warranty) $29.70 and very little mess, in my opinion thats $29.70 well spent and alot less hassle!! But thats the great thing about living in America, We all can do whatever (just about) we want!! :) Tony~
  6. Yes I am finishing up with my swap( Im just a backyard mechanic) The write up by Numbchux is GREAT COVERS EVERYTHING!!! just download it and print it off. Also everyone one here is very willing to help with any question, Ive never had a question that wasnt anwsered swiftly and correctly. If the EA82 to EJ22 swap is what you want to do this is the place to BE:grin: Tony~
  7. Look as far as the CV boot goes, take the boot kit back, drive it till it brakes (the CV joint that is) and then just replace the whole axle!!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME, ITS SO MUCH EASIER to change the whole axle then just the boot. The fact of the matter is you will end up removing the axle anyway, so why not just put a new one in. Just because the boot is bad doesnt mean the whole axle is bad. New or reman axle's at Schuck's or AutoZone are only $64.95 with core,(just bought one) the boot kits are some where around $20 a piece plus the new grease?? So for me it makes more sence to drive it till it brakes and then just spend $45 more to get the new one, PLUS NO MESS. Changing those boots are a pain is the @$$ and its a nasty process, you have to make sure all the old grease is off then you have to pack new grease in YUK!!!!!!!!!!! I watched a friend do it, and NO THANKS! Just drive it TILL its brakes TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway just my thoughts on that, change it if you want (Good luck if you do). Tony~
  8. yes I like them, Just keep your eyes open on that website (4wheelparts.com) They always run specials. Like for the fourth they are knocking off 50bucks on all superswampers, Just about covers shipping:grin: They look great and they are cheap!! Tony~
  9. I have a 4/4 inch lift on my 85GL wagon and i'm running 29x8.50x15 Super Swampers. I thing there are best because they are narrow and but alot of weight on the ground!! Get them From http://www.4wheelparts.com they are $89 buck a piece and they are delivered right to your DOOR!! Tony~ Here's what they look like!!
  10. well they would be perfect I think, Because when it come's to snow or mud it's all about ppsi (pounds per square inch) and those would put alot of weight on the ground, I say GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!! Tony~
  11. Ok, well I was thinking I would try to use the stock EJ22 or EA82 fan. So would those not work?? Tony~
  12. I got my motor in last night, Im doing the EJ22 EA82 swap. I wanted to know if I would have any problems mounting to cooling fans on the back of the radiator instead of the front to give more room to work on stuff?? Not problems mounting it per say, but problems with cooling. Will mounting it on the outside effect the way things are cooled or am I just worring about nothing?? Tony~
  13. Cool, so I need to check it against a XT 88-91 4cyl. and theres no way I could go wrong them. Thanks!! Tony~
  14. Well thats a little bit of a problem, They had a $15 core even with the new one. I bought it monday night and put it in that night and didnt realise that it was wrong till Tuesday night. They ship all core and returns on tuesday mornings, so my core is GONE. so I have no old one to go by, just the new one I bought thats wrong. I guess I could that off the other one from the other side if I had to, but hopfully I wont have to do that. Hopfully its only because I told them I need a hatchback one instead of a coupe one. Just thought it was werid that there wasnt a wagon opition?? Anyway we will see, thanks for the help!! Tony~
  15. whups, I mean I need a axle for a coupe/sedan, not one from a wagon, hatchback. well does that mean when I bought this axle, the only two opitions in the computer where hatchback or coupe. should I have bought the one for a coupe instead of a hatchback?? maybe thats the problem sence that hatchbacks are EA81's not EA82's.?? I picked a hatchback because its more like the wagon, so maybe the sedan one is the one I need for the 85 model?? Thanks guy's, worst case I will buy a coupe non-turbo 89 axle with D/R 5speed right? Tony~
  16. yes I have a 85 GL wagon 5speed D/R 4x4 and yes its a EA82. Ok so I need a 89coupe,wagon axle thats a non-turbo, right. if thats what i need then thats what i will buy. Tony~
  17. Ok, thanks for the input. So when I take back the axle back should I buy a newer year axle like a 86,87,88, or 89? They all should fit right? or am I going about this the wrong way?? Tony~
  18. Ok so when I was Installing my lift, I pulled the axle out of the lower CV joint( where it goes into the hub) So I bought a new Axle not a referb from AutoZone and it went in easily. At first it seemed to be to short, it was connected to the trans so I pulled it just a little and it went all the way through the hub, GREAT. So I thought that I was done, Later that night my buddy and I where looking at everything and the upper CV boot was streched TIGHT and didnt look right. As we look harder we found that I had pulled the CV joint apart at the upper boot(where it goes into the trans). So my question is, First off I didnt pull on it that hard, so I think it was defective from the get go. Or are they that easy to pull apart?? Second question is I watch the guy put in all the info of my car in the computer, how could they have gave me the wrong axle. Does it have something to do with the lift because the other side is fine, I just dont know, does anyone know what the length of the axle I have is.( its a 85 GL wagon 4x4 D/R 5speed) the only thing that I didnt understand was that the computer at AutoZone only gave a opition of coupe or hatch, not wagon does that make a differents?? So if anyone can help Please write back. Oh yea I installed a 4/4 inch lift, its from ozified. If that may make that axle to short?? Tony~
  19. Just a little because there is no engine in it, but when I stand in the engine compartment its almost perfect!! so yes it looks alright its a 4/4 inch ozified its all alloy. Tony~
  20. Here are the lastest pic's I have!!! My new lift!!!!!!!! Enjoy these guy's and there will be more to come!!!!!!!!! Tony~
  21. Yes I Just got my Ozified Lift this morning before I came to work. PK is very good to work with and very fast at getting the product out. Anwsered every ? I had very quickly and the product is build and designed very well:) Tony~

  23. As you all know Im doing the EJ22 EA82 swap, Im cleaning up and removing everything the I can under the hood for looks. I dont know what this is, my buddy thinks it is the unit that switches the blower mode's. like from defrost to floor the a/c to heater but I dont know. if it is it's ran by vac lines and how do I rehook it up to the ej22 motor?? Thanks Tony Walrath
