  1. Well I could hear the fuel pump ingage when I turned the car to the on position and my buddy was studing some wiring diagrams and said that the wires where backwards, so I switched them and it makes the same noise. It cycle's on for a moment and then turns off when the key is in the on position. There is two large yellow/red or yellow wires that come out of the fuel pump relay and one of them isnt getting any power, dont know if all the wires that come out of the fuel relay need power but I was thinking that this might be linked to the coil as well?? But I'm just as confused as you, I will take some pic's of how I have the fuel lines hooked up so you can see them ok, then we will go from there OK.:-\ Tony~
  2. Ok, this is what I found out tonight. I pulled the plug that plugs in to the coil(the plug with three wires) and checked each wire for power with a 12v tester, and nothing. So I started to look harder and I pulled the in-fuel line right after the filter and no fuel. So I must have the fuel pump hooked up backwards?? Right. So with that said, is that why one of the fuel pump relay wires (big yellow one) isnt getting any power and would that be why no power to the coil aswell?? Tony~
  3. when I pulled the plug wire off the coil there is no spark and i checked it with a electrical tester. The coil at the plug in where it is wired and the second ful pump relay wire isnt getting power ether??
  4. The light green wire is hooked to a constant 12v source, and when the key is in the on position it sounds like it goes on then off on then off over and over, Just thought that was normal?? Tony~
  5. do i have to do this because my ECU and EJ22 came out of a car with a auto trans?? or is there anyway else I can do this. Maybe wire it different?? Tony~
  6. that is what its doing, i hard wired the starter and ignition wires straight to the EA ignition(under the steering column) Tony~
  7. What do you mean, right now i have the wiring hooked up which numbchux did for me, and everything is hooked up but the three alternator wires. the wierd thing is the car didnt have a alternator when i bought it and i drove it home. so thats way i dont thing that it has anything to do with the alternator not being hooked up?? Tony~
  8. well ive been think of way this thing wont start and I was think about how i wired my fuel pump. the fuel pump i used was out of a fuel injected subaru, it had a red and black wire coming from it and i figured that the red was power and the black was ground. the fuel pump is working i can here it cycle when the key is on, but if i had those wires wrong would that maybe way im not getting power to the coil?? Tony~
  9. so not having the alternator hooked up, is that way the coil isnt getting power?? It sounds like thats what you are saying. Tony~
  10. Ok the problem im having is im not getting power to the coil or the second yellow wire to the fuel pump relay, but the fuel pump cycles with the key on. I dont have any of the alternator wires hooked up just a big battery does that have something to do with it. So I have no Spark at all right at the coil!! Im culeless?? Tony~
  11. I alwas check http://www.4wheelparts.com they carry about everything and they are the cheapest around, they alwas run specials like 50 to 100 off tires and free shipping, just keep your eyes open. Tony~
  12. Ok, so last night everything was hooked up except the nuteral switch and the VSS wire. The car would crank but would not fire ( checked and there was no spark) would the VSS or the nuteral switch let the car be cranked over but no spark?? Is that how the nuteral switch keeps the car from turning over?? Just by not giving it spark?? And one more thing while I tried to start it last night, I noticed that the Tach would fly all the way past red line and then go back the zero?? Is this because those two wires werent hooked up?? Or will it just do that now on start up?? Thanks for the help, I just need a little more and this bad boy will be RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :headbang: Tony~
  13. ok here a pic of a alternator thats been done EA-EJ swap(its a EJ alternator) Ok the first plug with the three wires coming out of it, I see where those go. But the BIG WHITE wire that is coming out of the second plug I dont know where that goes?? does anyone know or have a good pic of where the BIG white wire Goes?? Tony~
  14. Thanks but where is it on the EA car. The wire is labeled but dont know where to look. and still need to know about the nuteral switch???? Tony~
  15. Ok I have a buddy thats on his why here to help me finish the 3or4 wires to hard wire in with my EA-EJ swap. I had A USMB member do my wiring and I dont know what the wire labled VSS is??? And the other wire I'm not sure about is the nuteral switch?? I have a 85 4x4 5speed GL wagon, seens it a 5speed I shouldnt need the nuteral switch right?? If anyone can help FAST It would really be alot of help!!!!! Thanks Tony~
  16. I dont know if they would ship there, but they do have a 800 number toll free thats open 24hours a day. I'd try calling and asking, if you can't call the number because you live way down south let me know and I will call for you. http://www.4wheelparts.com (4wheelparts) is a hugh company in America and when they list shipping on the website, its a flat rate everywhere in America. Tony~
  17. You can also asked the tire company or tire shop guy you are working with, the tire should come with a factory life expectancy especially if they come with a factory warranty of any kind. Still Super Swampers no matter what series you buy seem to have a shorter life span then most because of there softer rubber for better 4x4ing. But the subie's we all drive and love are about half the weight of the normal big 4x4's that are usually sitting on them. So you could argue if they weight less then they might last longer?? But its all personal preference, thats what it comes down to, if you like them and you can afford them, Buy THEM!! Tony~
  18. dont know if its related but here at my dealership it seems like we fix alot of older Nissan's with this same problem. They are fixing the problem with new vented gas cap's. Anyway a cheap fix, maybe worth a try?? Tony~
  19. great video and photo's guys, I would love to go next year!!!!!!!!!!!! Tony~
  20. I would contact PK or Ozified, he would sell you the steering coupler if you asked him I bet. And it would be sure to fit!! Tony~
  21. so my car is lifted, are these springs going to help with handling or do they just lifted it a little more?? Tony~
