  1. Of Course it's for a Subaru!!!!!!!!! It's for a 1985 RX Turbo Coupe. But I would be into any kind of Subaru Related Stickers!!!!!! Thanks, Mike
  2. I'm trying to help a friend get his car ready for a rally cross race. He's doing the easy stuff, swapping the engine and tranny, upgrading the turbo and such. Very simple stuff.... I however have the difficult job, making stickers to plaster the car with. After all there are a lot of dents to hide. All kidding aside, I do need some help comming up with images and logos to cut out for him. If you have any you could email me, post here, or post the link to I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Mike mtsfabman@yahoo.com
  3. Ahh..... Favorite Subie???? Honestly, I have only owned two Subarus but I'm hooked. My first was an '84 wagon which I greatly enjoyed but I feel was underpowered. I wanted an EA81 Turbo car but ended up finding an XT6 instead. I have never owned a funner car to drive. It is so quiet going down the road. And I must admit I love the sound of the flat six engine, it sounds quite exotic. And as for power, yes it has good power. Even the look of the car is starting to grow on me. I'm an offroad guy, so I can't wait to see how my XT6 will look sporting 33" tires this summer! Mike
  4. Jared, Are your mods a secret too???!!!! Come on, what you got planned??? I hope you have a good supply of graph paper (or at least napkins) on that ship to pencil out your plans to build the ultimate roo! Any tantilizing titbits of info would be appreciated! I get the feeling your thinking of using Toyota Axles front and rear? Am I on the right track??? Take care of yourself, you know John and I will be willing to help you out with your plans when you get back. Mike
  5. Thats got to be the coolest Subie I've seen!!!! Any Chance you'll be bringing that thing out to the West Coast Show????? I cast another vote for ACTION SHOTS!!!!!!
  6. So far no one has found the right Fuji solid front axle.... The original Datsun 4x4 came with IFS.... I think you would have to give up the "All Fuji" rule to get a solid front axle.
  7. Take care of yourself! Thank you for your service!! Can't wait to hear about your plans for lil'roo when you get back. Mike
  8. Hey Nick! Glad to see you are getting that car dirty! As long as you use it, we won't have to call it "CUP-CAKE" anymore!!!! I saw an earlier post you started about painting your car. Did you do it yet??? Have fun, Mike in Eugene
  9. Just have to boast that I too know what is going on with Ken's Brat, as I sold him most of the parts to do it and watched the evolution take place. I just hope he shows more pics soon and that a few people like what he has done because I have more parts to sell!!!! Mike
  10. However, the ea82 front suspension puts the front axles right over top of the suspension arm pivots instead of behind. Even with a 6" lift clearance will be tight between the axles and arms, and I may have to angle the axles back 2" to clear the pivots. Do you think this would be okay? 8" is just too high for me. I'd be careful of doing this. I understand you don't want to be too high with your lift, but moving the front pumpkin back will put your CV joints at an angle while going straight. Which would be OK going straight but would either reduce your turning radius or wreck your CV's quickly. From what I have seen MudRat do on his lifts, 8" is Minimum even on the EA81 cars. Granted, everthing I've seen has used the Nissan T-Case. However, the lift has to be high enough to stuff the front pumpkin under the tranny and clear the suspension. So the T-Case should not have much to do with the minimum lift. I plan on going 10-12" with mine, because I want the T-Case up out of the way and I want to run 33" tires with no issues!!!
  11. '88 GL SPFI DR wagon, 4" subframe 2" suspension lift, Lada Niva FT4wd T-case w difflock. Welded rear end, dual 1 7/8 exhaust. What is this Lada Niva FT4wd T-case?? I understand the Full Time Four Wheel Drive Transfer Case part, but what is Lada Niva?? Is it smaller or better than the Nissan Transfer Case??
  12. No, No, No..... This thread started out talking about a Turbo GL10 wagon. After all the advice I received, I decided to not use the Turbo Car as an off-road machine and sell to a friend who would turn it into a "street racer". I want to get an XT6 and turn it into an OFF-ROAD MONSTER!!!!!!
  13. That's exactly what I have in mind Adam, a lifted XT6 with Nissan Transfer case and R180 diffs sporting 4.375:1 gears!!!! I'm on my way to K-falls monday to look at one that sounds great except for the air suspension is shot. If that falls through maybe I'll come home through Medford and try to find the one your talking about. Thanks, Mike
  14. Thanks for all the advice guys! I think I'll let someone else build a street racer out of this car and I'll start looking for an XT6!!!!!
  15. I know some of you out there are Turbo Nuts! So I'm hoping to learn a little from you. I have an 88 GL-10 Turbo Wagon with a bad turbo. I am going to replace the turbo asap but it made be think about hop-ups????? What are some common Hop-Ups for the EA82 Turbo motors/turbos?? Since the turbo is shot, should I replace it with another style/year turbo?? I would not be into hop-ups that increase power at higher rpms but diminish power at low rpms. I want to be able to off-road this car. In fact, are there any turbo mods that would boost low rpm power??? Thanks in advance for any advice. Mike
  16. Did you use a kit made by someone on the board or is it one of the austraillian kits???
  17. Do you have any pictures of this beast??? It sounds really cool. Do you have an album on this site somewhere??? mtsfabman
  18. Hello all, I was curious what kind of gas mileage you all are getting with various models. I have an '84 EA81 wagon with a weber and 27" tires. After correcting for the tire size on the odometer, I'm only getting 19-20mpg. Is this average???? I was wondering if I could get some input from others that have EA81 with stock carb, EA81 with webber, EA81 turbos, EA82 with carb, and EA82 with FI. Also mention your tire diameter so we can see apples for apples. Thanks, mtsfabman
