2000 impreza outback sport when i go to spray the rear window.. liquid starts dripping from the drivers side roof right before the hatch.... is there a joint there that can be patched... that came loose.. or anyone ever seen this? i dont want to start ripping into the car with no idea....

hi, my 2000 impreza outback sport didnt come with the retractable trunk cargo cover... is that interchangable with all impreza wagons from 1992 - 2001? or only certain years. or not at all..? thanks.

alrighty! thanks for the help. i got the car. ngk vpower are the recommended spark plugs for this right? and WOWZA this engine bay is smaller than my legacy..! the resevoir has to come out to do these plugs...

oh i forgot.. the windshield needs to be replaced... im thinking about 200 dollars for that... =\

hmm. good to know all that.thanks, i llooked up the car adn it says to be a 2.2 phase 2. it has a different head than my 97 legacy L sedan. i see that it has solid lifters and not hydraulic. i looked under the car and didnt see any active leaks and not at where the head meets the block. but it did look like there was a dark spot that could or could not be oil just sitting on the engine. ill be sure to take a better look today. the car is being sold privately and does not have any records. in fact the owner said they havent done any maintence on the car except oil changes since they got it about two years ago.

hey all, just wanted some comments, and thoughts, and specs about a car i put a deposit on.. $2200 2000 subuaru impreza outback sport 149k miles 5 spd no leaks anywhere i can see. is this the first generation 2.5 L engine? anything i should look for? a little rust in the back left wheel well. comments? thanks.

hi all on a 97 legacy L Sedan my friend has the same car as me and i am trying to find the horn relay wire that would complete the installation of a keyless entry system for them i see that it is a yellow wire with a red stripe. and i really cant identify it easily. i figured i would find the relay and track down that wire from there. thanks for any help

okay! will do. im glad to have a new project. and no can do on replacing that front one. the cars about to die id say.. and if not, the registration is up in about a month and its not worth it to re register it. so im looking for a newer subaru. ill post how it goes.

okay. well then in the same logic, couldnt u just apply it to only the front sensor and have a difference between the two as well thus creating the same advantage? what causes this not to be possible?

okay. well that might explain why the car runs like crap to begin with..(no power + ~14 mpg around town driving) especialyl since i cant see the a/f ratio... without a gauge and i dont have a computer program to check.. and with both those spacers on, wouldnt that cause a CEL?

yes. the cel lights up during accesory mode. and the cel works for other codes. for example the throttle position sensor was unplugged and the cel came on.. but went away when it was plugged back in after a few cycles. so i really cant understand why theyre there.. also. why would the trick be applied to the rear sensor only? isnt the temperature supposed to go up after the cat does its job. and by spacing the rear o2 sensor, that would most likely give it a lower temp reading right?

on my 97 legacy L 167k miles automatic hi, i recently had the chance to see one of the two cats on my car and i noticed that there were spacers on both of the o2 sensors.. as i am not the first owner and dont know the history of this car.. i was wondering if someone had done this as a quick fix. i thought that if someone had previously gotten a check engine light, that they would have only put a spacer on the first o2 sensor and not both.. so if anyone could give some insight, id appreciate it. thanks.

hmm.. the radar has been set up like this for over a year like this.. and is run in parralel so it shouldnt cause a short. at worst, id say, it just drew too much current and blew the fuse. but i dont get why it ws the lighting switch fuse that blew. and not the tail light fuse that blew. ill try that with the multimeter soon..

Hey all 97 Legacy L 167500 miles my exterior front side marker lights and rear tail lights recnetly went out. i looked for fuses but the one i had exepcted which was the tail light fuse in the cabin fusebox was fine. the lighting switch fuse in the engine bay blown so i had that replaced. my radar detector which was wired to the same line as my lights will work again. originally it would work when i turned my lights on to the first click. but when the fuse blew, thats what tipped me off that my lights were out. now that i replaced the fuse, the radar works, and the interior lights are on. but no exterior parking lights, or tail lights. i ran a multi meter to test for voltage at the tail lights and i got a zero reading. any ideas would be appreciated -i work at night and really need them to work again.. thanks

hmm. subaru said they wont fit........... hm... im looking at a junk yard tomorrow morning. the car needs to get finished by tomorrow night really.. so theres not much of a choice than to get one either from a yard or a dealership if i cant figure out for CERTAIN that one out of another car will fit... my friend drove into one of those cement blocks at the end of parking spots... when exiting a parking lot.. and didnt see it sticking out.. it was in an akward position compared to other lots..... so of course the control arm is bent and the sway bar link snapped...

98 legacy L Sedan hi, i have a friend with a BD legacy. It has a bent FRONT sway bar and needs to be replaced. anyone know if any of the sway bars from any other model will fit? or does anyone have a used one for sale in the longisland area? im sure there are tons of guys with WRXs around me that have used sway bars lying around. does anyone know if these wil fit? i need it ASAP. thanks for the info. and heres my thought. i planned to test the motor with a battery as well. but i also checked the switch... i had someone go upand down on the drivers switch and ran from the wires to a ground and i got 12 volts on the up and down.. since that is the case, i would assume that the master switch is good. and checking the motor is pointless.. but i still plan to check the motor anyway.... correct?

I tested the switches., they all work. I used a mutli meter to confirm all switches work. _ up and down. How do I pull the motor? And more importantly how do I. Release the motor from the window to pull the window up at the least?

97 legacy L 159k miles automatic the rear drivers side window wont go up. it has power windows, it will go down, but wont come up.. from the drivers control or the door control switch. any one have any advice? is it a switch, or a motor? (in general)
