Weird noise when accelerating from a stop
I've been getting weird noises and vibration when accelerating from a stop. This vibration occurs whilst acclerating in a straight line and the vibration continues even if I lift off the accelerator. The vibration occurs only at low speeds, maybe upto 10-15 mph. I'm thinking it could be my auto tranny going again even though it shifts great (albeit slow kickdown from 4 to 3). Any help appreciated, thanks.

Tire pressure
applegump replied to bjwirth's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIsn't the max pressure written on the tire, the maximum pressure that the tire is certified and safe (from blowing up etc) to inflate to. It has nothing to do with the car and the correct inflation for it. I use what the owners manual states as the minimum and go from there. Personally, I'm running 38 psi.

2.2 oil leak

I'll probably remove the timing belt cover in the process. The valve cover gasket doesn't seem too difficult to change. However if it turns out that the front cam seals, crank seal, and/or the oil pump o-ring is leaking, how difficult is it to fix that? Any special tools? Thanks

How Reliable is non-Dealer/factory alignment?

I even got a print out of before and after. I was out 2mm on one and 1mm on another and the rest was spot on.

2.2 oil leak
I have unfortunately discovered an oil leak. There is a small puddle of oil on top of the passenger side rocker arm valve cover in the front most "valley". There are also drops coming from the passenger side of the black cover both ontop and below. I'm wondering what the cause could be? seals? which? How easy to fix. Expensive? Thanks for the help.

Turbo Install on Impreza

Rough Running on Humid Days

AC Problem

AC Problem
With the hot months coming and having arrived on certain days, I've realised that my AC doesn't work. I had the system refilled last fall (so I doubt it needs refrigerant) so it hasn't been warm enough to check if it works properly. Anyway, there is no cool air coming from the vents, even after 5 minutes of operation. I've also noticed that when I turn the AC on, there is no engine rpm change, is this normal? Shouldn't the engine experience a short fall in rpm due to the extra load? Any suggestions where I should start to look? Thanks.

JDM Headlights

The cut of is always on the drivers side in the headlight, thus crreating a beam that doesn't go over horizontal. On the passenger side, it is not as blinding to have light aimed higher, with the added benefit of seeing the curb and pedestrians on the sidewalk as well as signs better. I hope that explains it, maybe someone can do it better.

Subaru Hybrid engine?

My $15 suspension upgrade

I did that last spring, got some gold six spoke alloys from an impreza turbo from a junkyard for about 280, had to buy new tires though.

Synthetic oil in Legacy

I change at 10k km and use semi-synthetic and have had NO engine problems. Then again I have a 2.2 .

If Subaru made a TDI...

If they do offer a diesel it better have a particulate filter. I would prefer Subaru to be working on a hybrid vehicle (gasoline electric) or at the very least offer LPG or CNG from the factory as an option.
