My '95 Legacy: Trashwagon10
Hey so you know I took my whole gauge out of the car before they got rid of it.. So I happen to look at the back for the first time and I noticed while my car was AWD and a 5 MT they had a bulb in the socket hole for the TCS indicator.. I thought that was a bit weird.

Differential fluid change
1-3-2-4 replied to Dennis Methvin's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXtrust me it will turn I use a 1/2" 18" breaker bar (I have air tools now) and while it feels loose it will be fine and wont strip. As for filling the rear you can be creative.. I've just poured the bottle in until it started to pour out of the top hole.. OR you can get tired of that and buy a push pump that screws on the bottle

Interesting that when it happened my clutch stuck to the floor and the car was stuck in 1st gear I don't think its any good anymore other then the sound when letting off the throttle I had no problems with it. I will be bringing home a 97 outback in a few days so I will have my first hand look of having to open the transmission Should be fun I kinda miss working on the Subaru.

1-3-2-4 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWell I will update when I pull the transmission I will pick up the jack hopefully same day i don't know how quick I will get to the transmission, I just don't know if the jacks I have now are high enough I get about 17" of lift from them.

what would cause a stuck 5 MT?
1-3-2-4 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI'm just as eager to open it up as anyone else but just set screws? Is that where they bend at? I remember when it last snowed I tried to pull a subie out of a snow bank in reverse and I noticed when I was unable to.. (I needed studs) When it was time to go back into 1st my car got stuck in rev for a few and i remember for a few days I had a hard time getting in and out of 4th gear but it was mostly when pulling out but it smoothed out

what would cause a stuck 5 MT?
1-3-2-4 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWell I was going to ask because I'm searching here and i don't (so far) see any thread where someone replaced any of the shift forks.. the good thing is at least online at subaru parts it's $44 But how are they on the shift linkage? Are they held in by a pin or something like that? but until I open up the trans it's unknown to all of us what happened
