I just bought a TD04 turbo that came off a 2003 WRX. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=2439919541 I plan on putting it on my 87 RX. The exhaust impeller is a little bit smaller with more blades than the stock RHB5, but the intake is a little larger and has 6 blades instead of 5. Will I get a HP increase? Or am I wasting my time?

I have 2 6x9s in boxes on the back seat and a 12" sub in the back. I just put it in a box and wired it up to an amp. Its not to hard.

Did you gut the cat in the Y pipe?

I changed the motor in my rx yesterday and when I took it for drive it did the exact same thing you described. It turned out i forgot to plug in my mass air flow sensor. I plugged it in and it runs great.

I got my wheels off of a turbo 505. I thought they were 15 alloys but they are metric. I hadn't heard about the metric wheels when I got them. I paid $15 each with tires. The metric tires say rh390 or something like that instead of r15. Make sure you don't get those.

My 3 door gets about 26 mpg. My dad's 4 door isn't running yet. I don't know if there would be much difference in mileage. I wouldn't advise boosting over 14-15 psi. I usually run about 11-12 psi. I just blew my head gasket sunday from running too much boost. I hope its just a head gasket. It started to miss and the idle speed went down. I took off the oil cap and there was a lot of air coming out. Nice car. Its nicer than my dad's.

You have to punch out the small pin that goes through the metal tube. I had to hit mine kind of hard. Then the end just slides off.

Monks tricks didn't work on my cargo cover either. I had to take the ends off to rewind the spring. Its not very hard to figure out once you take it apart. You have to use a hammer and punch to get the ends off. Hope this helps.

My rpms are at 3700 at 75 in my RX. Im usually going faster than that. I have 185/80/r13 tires on an 89 GL and it throws the speedometer off about 5 mph at 75. So when the speedometer says 70 you are really going 75.

My 87 RX has the factory down pipe and ends after it bends back. No cat and no muffler. It is loud.
