  1. The 300zx maf has the same plug and has a 3 inch diameter.
  2. nice job. go run the 1/4 mile. i want to see how bad you beat my 14.7 at 92
  3. I had to use a die grinder and the BFH to make it sit level. Im no longer using the slaab bypass valve. I have an ebay special XS Power RFL valve on the intercooler.
  4. I used that bracket without the ac under it. It will work but it is a little harder to adjust. Then I found a bracket that does not need to mount to the manifold. It all mounts to the block.
  5. I live in Moriarty. I take any free subarus or parts. I have a collection growing on the ranch. If the wagon will drive I can get it this weekend. If tarrega doesn't want it I will get it and any parts you do not want. Is there a title? Ill take it either way. I can maybe take the 83 if I can get a trailer.
  6. Last week I pulled a nut off an EA81 and it threaded onto an EA82 head bolt.
  7. You can use 5 1/4 in the front if you use the plastic mount from a loyale with the bigger front speakers
  8. Is that a good driver's side tail light on the EA82 coupe? I need one. Mine is has been broken and is glued back together. Most of the Subarus at my local yard are not even wrecked. Almost no rust on any of them. It is the nicest yard I have ever seen. The whole place is paved and all the cars are set on stands. Cheapest prices any where too. The most expensive part is a motor at $100. The sad part is the yard will not sell any complete cars. There has been several cars I would have bought and fixed. Today I saw a "historic" gen 1 two door coupe waiting to be drained and set out with the rest of the cars. Brings a tear to the eye.
  9. That sucks. I slid into a ditch and hit a tree on the passenger side of mine back around thanksgiving. Missed the bumper and ripped the air dam off the mount. Crumpled the fender and corner light but did not get the frame or the headlight. I would definately fix it if it was mine. But then again I bought mine totaled and don't mind a dent or two. Bolt a flat piece of steel where the bumper bolts and tie on to a tree. Straightened up my frame like that.
  10. Perhaps. His is an early MPFI so the plugs might be different. Probably has the VAF instead of MAF. I will check next time I got to the junkyard.
  11. I believe the plugs are different on the N/A spider. I used the N/A manifold with the turbo harness. Dont forget about the pitching stopper bracket. I used an XT6 5 speed bracket fo my RX. But you may already have the bracket that bolts on the transmission. Both my XT4 parts cars with automatics have the smaller bracket.
  12. I have always had to squeeze the clips from the inside. The only way I can think of from the outside is to pull it back and breaks the clips with a screwdriver or something.
  13. Stock fuel system. I can run that much boost because the air is thinner up here. I dont run that much boost everyday anyway. Well not yet. I dont hit fuel cut at 12 psi like you guys at lower altitudes. After I left the track I hit fuel cut because my boost was spiking to like 22psi. I turned it back down right away. I may be running a little lean. I dont know. Im going to get an air fuel gauge. I have an egt gauge and a probe i need to install. I have a set of turbo 300zx injectors im going to experiment with. I also noticed that 300zx has a larger 3 inch maf with the same plug as our hotwire maf. I was looking on z31.com and it said the stock injectors flow 259cc. But I also think they run more fuel pressure than the ea82t. Its pretty loud. Sometimes when im talking to some in another car they cant here me. Ive only got 1 muffler ticket. It was a fix it. The day after i put my engine back in. That was I put a muffler on but the court didnt even go out and look at it. I took it back off a couple months later. That was last year. Been pulled over by the same cop and he didnt say anything about it. I need to build a better down pipe and a header.
  14. Ill get some better pictures. I would use a wrx valve but the intercooler didn't come with it and i havn't found one cheap enough yet. I got the saab bypass valve free when my friend bought a saab turbo at the u pull u save. I can shoot a fireball with a loud pop out the downpipe anytime i want to. 19.5s is correct. I think the engine was real tired because it lost compression shortly after lots of blowby. When i tore it down there were some cracks on the lands of the pistons and a little rust on the cylinders like a head gasket had blown and it sat for a while. After a rebuild i pulled 16.8 stock with the down pipe and cams. The cams are Delta cams. The ones that some other people on the board were talking about last year. It pulls from 3k to redline. The downpipe is the stock bend with the cat removed. My clutch only slips when it is cold. Its weird. I was suprised that hooked up as good as it did at the track. In the mornings it will slip at part throttle in 3rd. It is a clutch i found in my garage that came out of severly overheated 87 wagon(dropped the valve seats). I put it in when my old clutch went. It looked fairly new. Im going to look into getting a custom clutch built.
  15. 87 RX 3 door delta cams, spider intake, k&n, open downpipe, wrx intercooler, saab bypass valve, removed all the emissions stuff and ac, 15-17 psi 20mm sway bars, 2wd xt front struts, turbo timer I have one of those wrx look alike scoops from ebay i need to put on Elevation at the track is approximately 5300 feet This is my best pass so far 60 ft 2.170 660 ft 9.604 et 15.089 mph 89.54 Not too bad. When i first got the car it ran 19.5 with 12psi and bottomless airbox. Heres some pictures. Not very good because i used my friends camera phone
  16. That was horrible. I got all excited until i read the second post. all my hopes died. you got me good.
  17. I use Autolites from Napa in all my subarus with no problems yet. Bosch platinums are horrible. I pulled a set out of our after it would barely run. On one the porcelain around the center electrode had cracked and fell off. The rest were pretty worn too. Threw in a set of new autolites and now it runs fine.
  18. I get 24-27 in my RX with an external vent bypass valve that leaks on the freeway. I also have the leadfoot disease.
  19. My 87 RX is like that. I removed the auxillary air valve. If i dont hold the pedal about half way it tries to start right away and then continues cranking. Then i have to hold the pedal to the floor to get it to start. When it is warm there is no problem. I think your auxillary air valve is out of adjustment or not working.
  20. consider it translated http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?url=http%3A%2F%2Fsubaru.cybton.com%2Findex.php%3Fseite%3Dausstattungen&lp=de_en
  21. I have a spider intake on my 87 rx. I am using the rx computer. I used the lower half of the manifold form a turbo spider xt. The upper half from a non turbo with no egr. I also used the motor wiring harness from the turbo xt. It has the same plugs as my rx I used the factory turbo plumbing until I intercooled it. It is a black plastic pipe from the turbo to the throttle body with a place for the auxillary air valve hose. You might use 3 elbows and a reducer. I have an xt6 throttle body that I plan on using sometime. The bolt pattern is a litte wider than the raised area the throttle body bolts to. The tps looks way different. The connector looks the same but I haven't plugged it in to check. I didn't look at the xt6 maf to close. It looked the same on the outside. I have looked at a 300zx turbo maf. It is larger(3") and the connector looks the same. Im thinking about trying the maf and injectors from the 300z. good luck
