  1. $350 isnt bad for such low mileage. The engine will be an EA82T. Check the search function for EA82T. You could pick it up, do a complete overhaul (if you have to pull the engine anyway) Do headgaskets and try to not run it very hard, keep up on the maintenance. Cannot stress that last part. Welcome to the board, Im sure others will chime in with better advice. I love my how simple my engine bay is on my 1986 GL Sedan (non-turbo) that has a Carburetor, the space is so open, but I know of a 1986 GL-10 Sedan is the EA82T and that engine bay is cramped compared to mine.
  2. Well bummer I was hoping it had migrated a little bit south on the sale by chance lol. I do have the info I need though so Im glad things will be able to work out.
  3. Does a board member own UltimateRX now? I saw it on Craigslist but I cant find more pics of it, Id like to see the rear pics, engine, interior stuff like that. Thanks for the information Rob, Im excited, gonna have to find me an RX donor car someday, obviously this swap wont be cheap, so its a bit off, I just wanna make sure that I can make it happen with the little experience I have in bodywork lol.
  4. I have spoken to several people about my plans for my 1986 Subaru GL Sedan. Using "UltimateRX" as the model/platform. Motor: FrankenMotor (EJ25 Shortblock, EJ22 Heads, Torque Cams etc) Color: Subaru Rally blue Drivetrain: EJ AWD swap Body: MR2 Spoiler WRX Wheels (after 5 lug swap) RX stuff (see below) Interior: XT6 front seats My question: Can I use the RX front/rear bumpers? I obviously cant use the side skirts (just thought of that now since UltimateRX is a 3 door, mines a sedan) Can I use the RX hood?
  5. Hm. Id rather go with someone that knows a bit more about my vehicle. When I went to go buy upper and lower radiator hoses for a 1986 GL-10 Sedan, we went to Autozone, NAPA and Baxters only to hear "We dont carry model specific hoses, we have universal hoses that are flexible so you can bend it to fit your vehicle. Went to the dealer, "oh yes, we have those in stock, you need upper and lower hoses? *places hoses on counter* go over to (name) and she will check you out. Total cost for upper and lower hose was $13.90 ($6.95 each) Now in its own respect, Discount Import Auto in Oregon, they had the lower radiator hose and thermostat that GD was looking for his Brat, and hose was pre-molded, dont doubt some places have them, but I have had no luck with the ones in my neck of the woods.
  6. Subwoofer box/enclosure? Shelf? Spare parts holder? I must know...
  7. Its best to go through the dealer - oem stuff. You can buy hoses in the right size (dont have that off the top of my head, sorry) but usually you have to bend those into the right shape, which causes crimps and reduces the flow of coolant. For your cooling system since its a turbo, and overheating is one of their trademarks.... go to your local Subaru dealer, they should have pre-molded hoses, even with arrows of the direction of flow!
  8. 34.95 each? Are you sure? That seems awfully high for just one of them when the other ones (including one I bought) were like 12 bucks.
  9. I found motor mounts on RockAuto for your 1983 Brat for like 12-13 bucks or I think it was like 34.95 for both sets? I used them before, I might still have one of my motor mounts for my 83 wagon, but I dont know if that would work, I bought two and I really only needed one.
  10. Which ones? Your steelies or your wagon wheels? Your steelies should be easy. Get a wire wheel attachment and bring them to bare metal (try to not gouge it in spots) and then paint it so it doesnt rust, same for your wagon wheels, I did that on mine, and although they werent perfect, with some black paint on them, they looked amazing on a car. Somewhere around here I have a thread on the wheels I painted as well as pics of my peugeot when I was done with it. Pretty sure you've seen it already, but heres the finished product next to the old one: and by itself (I had to leave tires on so it wasnt too great, but if youre going to replace your tires anyway, it might be easier for you.
  11. Try RockAuto.Com Its pretty popular and reliable and they should have the part you need. I got one for my old 83 Wagon. You even get a neat little refrigerator magnet.
  12. Theres someone on the forum that (I love the idea and was thinking of doing it myself) But from your trim pieces on the side and bumpers and blow, painted black and the top painted white. He was lowered on WRX rims, but it was still pretty sick looking. When I make my car Subaru blue, Im thinking that my trim pieces and below will be black or a semi-purple color leading to black.
  13. Found out that my driver side head is leaking oil Headgasket job when I have the space and money for the kits and stuff. But put new battery cables on the 1995 Impreza that my friend owns. Had to drill out the holes so the ends would fit on the terminals, but it fits and it works so thats all that matters.
  14. Wasnt me mines still pretty much stock. and hes going the other way, lower lol.
  15. sounds like a hazard I think I will keep my car on the road and keep my fuel pump where it belongs.
  16. :slobber: :slobber: Damn that thing is shweet! I want it
  17. Oi those are a bit big, but they look sweet
  18. Mine does that too Embarassing as all hell to try and start out super quick against a honda and hit the throttle hard and kill the car but I caught up lol
  19. That would actually be a better option though, FWD legacies arent worth much (as a flip)
  20. But how would even the "Full time 4WD" (AWD?") auto mate up in that car if his is FWD? I could see it working in an AWD car... But I thought FWD and AWD Transmissions were way different?
  21. No those are a bit more expensive from what Ive heard. These have yellow ones that are just as bright as the HIDs, just yellow, so Imma invest in another one soon because people flash their brights at me all the time, and if I flash mine then it actually does look like Im an idiot who left their brights on. Instead I wanna get flashed and then be like SHABOW and flash them with even brighter HIDS:lol:
