Aftermarket Drive Line
Has anyone bought an aftermarket drive line with user replaceable ujoints for a 1rst generation outback? Searching the forum, I've found links to places that sell them, but I haven't found any post about experiences with any of these companies. Thanks

Cup seal surface
I'm working an f150. While pulling out the seal for the rear bearing i put scratch in the axle where the outside of the seal sits. Is this going to cause a problem? should i put a touch of sealant there before i tap the new seal in? Thanks

autozone calipers
sario replied to sario's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOk i installed the autozone calipers, along with new duralast rotors. Hearing about the warranty makes me feel better about some of the negatives I've about read. The calipers in the box were rebuilt OEM's and the hardware is similar to original. I'll post back here if i ever have a problem. On a side I bought a set of pads, that i didn't up needing. The clerk told me that the pads were also lifetime warranty which includes normal wear and tear. You guys weren't kidding when you said they had a good warranty.

autozone calipers
sario replied to sario's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXPS I'm 20 miles from. I've been driving 5 miles and then letting everything cool down. So I have a lot of time to over think this.

autozone calipers
sario replied to sario's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNumbchux that's good to know about cardone. Napa called me back and said they could have a set by noon. Its from Napa united, which cost more than their car done series . any options on those?

autozone calipers
Im looking for an opinion on autozone front calipers. Are they comparable to oem? Im normally oem or napa biased. But I'm sitting on the side of the road with a smoking front caliper. Autozone and shucks are my only options since its Sunday.

Brake Boots
The last time I relubbed my brake slides, I noticed all the boots on the sliders and pistons where getting really cracked. These are the original calipers with 260K on them. Should I be thinking about replacing the whole caliper, or can I get away with a reseal kit from Rock Auto?

Why Subaru?

Is my engine fooling me?? (MPG thread)
sario replied to crazyman03's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI looked at my records. The last 6 air filter changes didn't affect the MPG on my EJ25. I change my filter about once a year or so. I'm not sure if that means anything though.

Seafoam may have saved me

OEM PARTS online store??? Subaru Loyale parts
As grossgary recently pointed out to me, opposedforces.com is a great website to find the part numbers. The online dealers catalogs can be hard to find some of the smaller parts.

engine cleaning
I'll give that a shot. I'm really hoping to avoid scrubbing with a toothbrush, although i admit that probably the best way.

engine cleaning
How does everyone clean your engine? Mine isn't too bad, but i'd like to get it cleaned up to see where any oil leaks might be.

How big of an air compressor do I need?
Huh, that relay should have been just fine, even with the inrush current. Sorry for going off on a tangent. I do a lot with motors and motor controls at work, so just get curious. I really enjoy controls and control logic.

Do you still know the brand and part number of the SSR? It sounds like the SSR was overhead. Were you using a heat sink? If not, it might still be salvageable.

How big of an air compressor do I need?
I'd have to agree with davebugs about staying away from oil less. Unless it's just something you use occasionally, or don't mind a lot of noise. Whats your budget? If its in the $1000 + range there are a lot of great two stage 5hp compressors out there. For my personal use i just have an Makita mac2400. It's relatively quiet,, small, and It puts out 4.2CFM at 90 psi. It keeps up with my nailers, but i do have to wait on it if i'm using impact guns sometimes. It would not keep up with blowing out an entire shop with an air wand though.

2005 Legacy 2.5i Coolant
sario replied to 9098's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't think there is a definitive answer about this. On other Subaru forums many people say that peak global life time is practically the same thing as Subaru coolant. But it is an OAT coolant, and other people say that Subaru’s should never use OAT coolants. All I have is anecdotal evidence like everyone else. I have been using Peak Global life time for 90,000 miles and I haven’t destroyed my head gaskets, yet. That being said, I will switch to Subaru coolant next time. It’s $20 for a undiluted gallon. So it’s relatively inexpensive, just an inconvenient drive to the dealership

valve cover breather gasket
sario replied to sario's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWell now i feel dumb. I took less than two minutes to find the part on Opposed forces. It's called a "Gasket-oil separator cover." The part number is 11832AA021 and 11832AA022. Thanks grossgary.
