  1. i like my can, just no slant tip or blued end, just a 4" tip angled up into the bumper. my stock muffler broke, angled, and melted the back bumper, so I carefully trimmed off the warped/melted material into a nice perfect arch and just so happens my topspeed tucks right there. I had this can on my legacy first but before that i had a promax "40" lol and the cab resonance pulse in that legacy was both deafening and made you want to kill people. so thats when i got the topspeed. last year.
  2. please please PLEASE!!!! if you have the timing belts off RESEAL THE OIL PUMP ITSELF!!! The "mickey mouse" gasket is prone to sucking into the oil pump and getting TOD and much more
  3. does it matter if the windows are up or down, try having your passenger push the center of the roof up while it's doing its thing. My legacy did that, it would rumble then go bbbwwwoooonnngg as the roof would buckle in (like a dent in a hood) I could roll up the windows and as soon as I hit the ac switch, it would BANG!!! and pop back up.
  4. I can't say for that brand, but i have a Chinese TOPSPEED on mine and I have found that there isn't many mufflers that sound bad on EA cars, even ej's just as long as they run UEL manifold or headers. The exhaust pulse doesn't let them resonate to where they sound like rice.
  5. im sure i could find one. shipping is a B$%&H on big parts though
  6. This is a public service announcement brought to you by the people that name problem crap in cars. I hereby officially dub this hose THE EA LEAK HOSE That is all.
  7. you are lucky, mine was a screw clamp (the epic ones) and it was rusted so I had to break it with needle nose pliers. Lucky for me, this was a "new" engine and I needed to swap my intake over anyways.
  8. I like it. another automatic turbo wagon! with dead ea82t, the things are freakin CHEAP!
  9. I would say do it all reseal, timing belts, water pump, oil pump seals. anything you do will just help prolong that engine.
  10. it's a good idea to replace or at least inspect it. you can see it under the intake to the left side of the power steering pump, if you are looking from the front (technically the right side of the car). I replaced mine when I resealed the motor, along with the short throttle body elbow.
  11. no the horrible hose you speak of is under the manifold to the block. and is about 10" long. the manifold must be removed (at least for the average fat fingered american mechanic.) If you have ninja fingers/hands, you can do it. MAYBE.
  12. list. bumper, core support radiator hood pass fender drivr fender pass front door windshield control arm 300 bucks or less at the right jy. tools LOTS OF BFH's Crow Bars willing voulenteers oh and socket set.
  13. BUILD IT INTO A RIG!!! glad you guys weren't hurt. Look on the bright side, even with all the destruction, your rims are still good, your aux lights are in tact and it still runs and moves under its own power. I hit a curb (fresh rain washed up oil) in my 93 lego and drove it into a gas station with the control arm bent and tire into the fender. 15 bucks at a junk yard later, and I was rolling again. I just hate to see it wasted like that.
  14. also, the struts are are length specific. front wagon 4x4 0 normal for wagon sedan -1" xt -2" the strut length matters just as much as the spring rate. if your that obsessed, you could put some cheap sleeves on it from ebay. It works in a pinch but rides like rump roast.
  15. Should have a plug that takes a 10mm allen to remove right next to the dummy light one. screw your old one into that hole. I left the "dummy" one in there to hookup to a bright rump roast red 10mm LED that I am installing in the dash to hit me right in the eyes, should I not be paying attention if I were to lose oil pressure.
  16. overall, i do agree that if it has DSM in the doorsill, the wiring and many other aspects are complete sheeite.
  17. those bulbs always have a short life... no matter what car I have put them in. never last more than a year.
  18. my grandpa's mighty maxx went to 245k gave it to my aunt and within 5k she ran it out of oil and killed it.
  19. haha I LOVE texas. you don't even have to have doors to pass, or bumpers. Hell I passed with REDRILLED wheels. as long as all the studs have lugs, they know no better. hell you don't even have to have a windshield, but quirk in the law states wipers must make full contact with windshield, so take the wipers off and it passes!!!!
  20. 10w-40. anything less craps (more) out of my valve cover gaskets. makes my 2" puddle into a 3-4" puddle also, I use castrol GTX. and I ALWAYS use WIX filters, unless the purolator Pureone's are on sale with GTX.
  21. isuzu 16's with low-pros like i have on mine. the offset is damn near perfect. Tire size is 195/55r16 and it handles awesome with no rub
  22. That statement in it's entirety is in DIRECT VIOLATION of MANLAW
  23. I used to have a 5speed RS justy 4wd on the way from its field of sit, it jumped off my friend's trailor and attacked a kia minivan. I wasn't there for that one. I got this car off of the fat guy in the pic (j) then traded it (bad clutch) and a rump roast-ended eclipse back to J for my 93 lego wagon on audi rims.
  24. its only got a short 137k on it. also for the headlights, we used sandpaper in order as follows... 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit. all wet sanded then finished up with polishing compound on a buffer. The owner of the car (xanadu62) used to resto headlights for car lots independently, so he had all this crap in a duffel bag in the shed
  25. the pic sucks but these came out beautiful! no need so thanks anyways!!!
