  1. A Super Special Secret Subaru! Or just some parts for the gen 1 Brat. I'm tryin to get it running well, so that I don't have to worry about it possibly breaking down on me.
  2. I read the post, and he's using a "secret" retrofit project in the rear it seems, and is using rs knuckles in front. I'm not sure if he's using the setup that is offered from one of the member's (I can'tremember his name or his website) from australia. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the xt6 five lug stuff. I'll keep checking.
  3. Im going to be down there tomorrow. And possibly the rest of the weekend grabbing all the parts I need.
  4. Has anyone ever attempted or have completed a 5 lug swap using xt6 bits on a gen 1 Brat? I tried searching, but didn't come up with much. Thanks.
  5. Whats he askin for it? Pics? I don't know. Where are you located?
  6. Anybody want to get rid of one? or have one sitting around they don't want?
  7. Did they make a low top camper shell for the gen 1 crowd?
  8. Yeah sorry, I have a bunch of Pm's Im saving. I'll get pics up soon. Yeah mine is the original yellow.
  9. I actually have what I think is an original winch at home. (I pulled it off a gen 1 Brat at the junkyard.) I don't know if it works, I haven't tried it, but it may be for sale.
  10. Yeah, thanks a bunch. Its always nice to have someones who's started tearing into it before you start.
  11. Will a power steering xmember from an 84 wagon fit in my 81 Gl Brat? Both have ea81's, and was wondering if anyone has converted to power steering. Thanks.
  12. Zefy: Where are you at with your gen 1 swap? What does it need to get running? I was wondering what kind of problems you ran into when doing this swap. I am SERIOUSLY contemplating this swap and have most of the parts for it already collected. I just wanted to see where you were at before I dove in.
  13. Hey, thanks for the comments. Its pretty easy to get pics up once you know the routine. It took me a while to figure it out too. First you have to upload whatever pics you want to post onto the web. Somewhere like the gallery here, or facebook, or wherever. Just somewhere online. Then when you make a post here or wherever, I usually open a seperate browser to where the pics are located. Then you RIGHT click on the image, go to PROPERTIES. you should see a weblink there where the image is stored. copy that link, then in your post above where you type in the text there are a bunch of little graphic thingies. You want the one that looks like a postcard with a mountain in it. Click on that and then paste in the link to the pic. If it worked correctly then you should see the pic in your post as you are typing, if for any reason the link got copied wrong or whatever then you won't see it. That's about it. I hope that helped.

  14. I was thinking of camping maybe this weekend. Maybe at the Grover hot springs? Its south of Gardnerville and north of Kirkwood out there in the mountains. Real nice area and probably some sweet trails near there. Anyone up for that area?
  15. Yeah I'm in the "nothing too bad" category too, my offroader is the same as my DD and I don't have ANY spare money to be fixing stuff so I have to play it real safe for now.
  16. want to do it next weekend? Sunday the 14th? It can be my birthday present.
  17. So have we picked a day yet or are we all a bunch of web wheelers? I'm free weekends as well. Is there any snow in Tahoe yet/still? Lets set this up.
  18. I only found out about it on friday. Shawn called me and said he was camping and I was already planning on heading out somewhere, but instead decided to go out and explore that way. It was way fun other than worrying about wheelin the daily driver.
  19. Welcome fellow nevadan. There's a few of us up here that regularly get together and hang out/wheel. Brian just threw up a snow run, so keep an eye out for that if you want to come.
  20. Shoulda came camping this past weekend. Camped up in the hills at cisco grove up the fordyce lake road, and had a bunch of snow. 2-3' in some places. The Brat did great though, apparently better than an f150. But yeah that'd be fun, throw some days up and I'd be up for it.
  21. If I can get my lazy but going I could nab one from an 81 Brat of mine. EDIT: I SHOULD have one from the 82 I took apart as well, I just have to figure out where I put it.
  22. yeah I get to check the internet once a week nowadays. I want to make it this year, but I still don't know how I'm going to get there. I just started my new job 2 months back and don't know if I can get the time off to drive up this year. We'll see though. August might be a slow time for the lawn business, so I may be able to get a few days off.
  23. Thanks. I have two 81 Brats that came with the ea81 standard. I just am unsure as to how or what was changed between the 1981 brats with the ea71 as compared to ones with the ea81.
  24. Would that be the same as far as a gen 1 Brat with the ea81? Or are they the same as far as how they mount up? (gen 1 Brat with ea71/ea81)
