  1. Nobody knows? Maybe a way to adjust the 4wd shift bar so the shifter is pushed down further when in 2wd?
  2. I think I might be up that way for some family pictures. I might just have to drive my GL. Its a beater, but its a subaru lol.
  3. So i was messing with the 4wd and it got stuck in 4 low. The shifter pushed down but didnt put it in 2wd, so i climbed under the car and pulled the rod into 2wd. Turns out the nut for the shift linkage came off. So now everything fells way better, no more slop and it hasn't popped into 4wd. The 4wd light stays on though(even if its in 2wd). Where is the switch for the 4wd light located?
  4. I actually figured out the problem. The vacuum advance canister on the distributor had a hole in it. The tube was also connected in the wrong place on the intake manifold. It caused a bad vacuum leak and killed a cylinder. I ended up advancing the timing and plugged the vac advance. Runs awesome now.

  5. Are you in Greys Harbor wa? Like Elma? You could check my GL out to see how they work and build your own.
  6. Pitching stopper? Where would that be? It does need new trans mounts though.
  7. So how do you guys mount your roof racks? I want to put on on mine, but cant figure out how to mount it.
  8. The choke could be malfunctioning. Does it run good when its cold and get worst as it warms up?
  9. Yo... I kind of want to go check out your loyale and see if there is anything I might need from it. I could always use the electrical relays and flashers. Probably take the rear hatch holder things... Let me know.

  10. My '83 GL just randomly pops itself into 4wd while driving. Its not like its rarely either. Once its in 4wd, its hard to put back into 2wd also. Is this a common thing on the older GL's? Its a 4 speed. I'm planning on doing a 5 speed swap, but like everyone else, no money to cover the cost of that quite yet. I probably wont have the money for a while, so I want to get this figured out. Thanks!
  11. Yeah. A trip to the junkyard would be fun. Let me know when you want to go.

  12. Did Wyatt really use a word I had to look up?

  13. Es broken right now. Bent the radius bar. Need to run to the junkyard or something.

  14. lawl. I figured it would be Wyatt.... I mean... wysei82... hmm. Welcome aboard the internet train of geeky madness batman. :)

  15. My '83 has problems sometimes going back into 2wd. I wonder if its because the axles are binding(from slight turning) or something like that.
  16. As stated before, you can find a newer less maintenance awd legacy for around $1000-1200. Keep looking. The right deal will show up.
  17. Yeah I want them. I'll see if I can get $80 out of the bank tomorrow, if not, i'll have it by monday. My buddy Travis owes me $80 so I guess that will go for the wheels and tires. Thanks Kelsey!

  18. Wow. Maybe I should reinforce mine too. It is the radius bar. I hope I didnt bend up the control arm either.
  19. Cool. You should get a set of weber IDF's or dellorto DRLA's for it. Oh, and thats a type 3 engine, not a bug engine
  20. Well I broke my Subaru lol. I bent the bar that keeps the control arm from moving forward and back(sorry for my lack of knowledge on suspension part names, still a noob with subarus). Now I can feel it shift forward and back when I hit the brake or gas. Hopefully I can find another from a parts car. Maybe I should have found a slightly newer subaru lol.
  21. Dude! Let me know next time you go wheeling. Cool pics and video.
  22. I would like to get power steering. Did the '83 have it stock? I dont think it has the pump, but there are fittings on the rack. There is 4 fittings, but only two are hooked up. Where do the 4 go? Thanks.
  23. My $600 GL. Planning on building a roof rack, and maybe a front tube bumper. Probably spray 'er down with some nice camo colors, just for fun.
