  1. Id be all about some fiberglass fenders for my wagon. Im not gonna be hittin up no trees....but wind and rain...sun...and...well, people's eyes! Remember...im going for all out performance and looks come second...so, imin for those fenders....if the price is right.
  2. is that all that screw does? I see that ALL the MAF's ive come across for the EA82T have that screw......
  3. ive never heard of that.....the bose option....hmmm...ive got a pioneer CD system in mine, the front looks stock as the speakers fit behind the stock pannels. The back...nothing will really fit unless you get creative...so, those speakers stick out, i need to put grilles on them.
  4. I called and aftermarket dealer that we go thru alot with the body shop, and fenders for my GL-10 are rather cheap...1/3 the price of dealer ones....unfortunatly, I CANNOT get the RX fenders...only the "w/out hole for air dam" fenders.....and i wanted the "w/hole for air dam" fenders...of which there are only 19 new OE ones left on the planet....
  5. Just send me both cars, whole.
  6. From what experience is this that you need to run the higher fuel presure? On the valve float....back when I had the 9.5:1 bottom end, it would do the same...but at 5500. Also, the RX i have, in its glory days of Delta cams...it pulled well past 6k and never lost power or "hit that revlimiter"....the valves and springs and retianers are factory stock on both engines, and the only difference is the GL-10 has stock cams, and that RX had Delta cams, and 677-260 ones. So is that stil valve float? if so...explain why my RX didnt do it....
  7. I was actually really really bored today at one point...and i was tired of people walking past my office with parts and invoices for the parts i ordered.....and asking to people who really ahve no buisness messing with the parts i wordered, "is this where I drop off parts for the bdy shop?" Grrr....Plus, I thought it was freaking hilarious when i was carfully drawing that with my sharpie...hince why its not that stright and uniform...

  9. The intersting thing is....in the last year, it looks like SOA hiked the price up about $30....
  10. Uhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm............. 22433AA041 1985-86 TURBO & MPI IGNITION COIL Maybe there is a reason that item is $99.98.......but i can give the USMB the pice of $79.98. Still too much for me.... NONE in the country. 22433AA140 is the 87-94 turbo. And...well...its...uhhmmm....well...15 in the country...i dont think they are going anywhere at $193.18 USMB cost. Maybe I could switch to a stock one? and it would go away?
  11. My accell of 1.5 years pulls strong 4k to 6k.....there is this strange stumble around 3k to 4k.
  12. $189.14. Can get....39 left in JAPAN. Its probably going to end up being 200-210 after shipping and all....i can have it here ready to ship to you in about 2-3 weeks.
  13. GD, just give me a call....I'll hook you up. The name's Will.
  14. Well, ive been scrounging thru the SUBARU electronic catalog for SUBARU parts....obviously for the EA82 chassis....body parts are almost no existant here in the states...quanities are approaching ZERO and are usually less than 20 peices in JAPAN..... Last night I was sitting in the shop the car....starign it over really well...wondering...why? Why am I doing this? One day i could slip and this thing would be in the trees....liablity only and ofcourse, if I happen to be in the way of some idiot...no insurance company is going to give me anything for it, much less say "we will fix it"...parts are not avalible. the front bumper reinforcement for the 86? Obsolete. Gone, no more. Used only...those are...well, less than desirable too... Things like the fenders...none left in the country...I want new RX ones...only 19 left, in JAPAN. Upper moulding? 5 for the right and NONE for the Left in JAPAN....those are...well, damaged and leaky on the wagon.....never seen any used in better condition. So if a body peice get destroyed....oh my....its just gone really. And then...I was thinking...mabye i shold move to impreza....i just could not bear the thought...yes, its a SUBARU, but it seems wrong....it felt like I was going to abandon the poor thing.... Am i insane? I think im in love with them...which is why I just cannot let a SUBARU go with out it going to a place were I KNOW it will be safe from destruction....and i seem to be buying and begging for every EA82T chassis I find.... that project RX shell ive got...the unibody is warped...be wrecked 3-4 times, TOTALLED twice...and the front end is a mess under the sheet metal...and I still have it...i cant seem to let it go....... I guess im a SUBARU sick-o or something..... are there others out there like me? or am i just crazy?
  15. well ive got one on an 88.... I STRONGLY believe it would be a EURO part......
  16. I dont see anything in the line...a new FPR lists for 140...if you want, i can get you a new one for 105. There are only 13 left in the country.... Oh, this is interesting...it only lists two injectors...1985 only for the MPFI...and then it only lists 1985-1990 for turbo...so it looks like 1986 and up turbo and non use the same injectors....except for XT tho. 29 of those left....can get for 96 each. Anyhow....sounds like...I know, try disconnecting the FPR return line, and plug it off (on the FPR too of course.)...and see if it still does it.
  17. did you try my shifting mod? the FPR....sounds like a valid idea, but then agian, it woudl do it at lower shift points too...right? or left?
  18. Probably... PM on the way.... I dont think I will need such a trans anyhow...i might go for a 4eat AWD one.... That thing is HEAVY!! One more goal for the GL-10 beating the STi is to retain a fully stock interior as much as possible...if i need less weight, I will switch over to the project RX. As its...well...empty!
  19. if you dont want OE...get the BOSCH OEM direct fit one from NAPA, autozone or whatever...I used the universal one as well. Both work great, but for $10 more, the OE style is just screw in, plug in, and go.
  20. Ive rode in 2 STi's...one on R compunds...yes, they are fast. Ive driven two stock 02 WRXs, one 04 stock...and an 02 WRX wagon far from stock...STi suspension, sticky tires, monster TD04, ECU...etc...yes, it was fast. The GL-10 at this current state of tune will certinly keep up with an STi in the twistys if it had some Victoracers on it, and if the STi was bone stock. I am NOT making an RX faster.....its too heavy and not balanced enough. Im doing this to my 1986 GL-10 Turbo wagon. IF i had the $$ to spare for real...id do it to the 89 RX i have laying around...use lexan instead of glass. Why? Beacuse I can, and no one else is going to do it. So, why not? Ive daily driven an RX that was manically boosted to 14-17 psi everyday for quite a while....it drive perfectly. i give it hell I drive it thru water and all kinds of ****. It still get around 30 MPGs and smiles at mewhen i dirve it hard. Never had to touch the engine (except for the usual T-belts and oil changes), and its go some unknown amount of HIGH miles and ORIGINAL headgaskets. If the head and block is TRUE on these engines...and you use OE headgaskets...thne these things DONT eat them. the onyl reason the 89 ate copper ones and cheap NAPA ones in 8 days of driving is because I didnt think enough to have the heads and block machined. They are way warped as I found out later. the heads onthe GL-10 are as true as can be. the HGs on it are experimental...cheap NAPA ones with some experimental sealer....if Ihad OE ones and the $ to buy them at the time i did this engine...it would have those in it. As for the late 80's RX 300 HP rally car....technology has improved since then. we have better, pure'r, more advanced alloys and way better engineering technology these days....so its possible...with the EA82T drivetrain. Now, if I used a WRX or STi drivetrain, id be cheating in a way. it would be TOO easy. Bolt ons and stuff would give the EJ257 400 WHP in no time. Too easy and too much $ for me. I want the pure challenge of taking this little know treasure no one makes parts for and make 300 WHP, and the chassis is light and easy to work with. many things from the legacy/impreza bolt on, among other things as my coil over stuff has proven....so bam...it will handle and pass the STi. it WILL happen. Again, ive driven and rode in several fine exampled of tuned and stock turbo imprezas...im impressed...i want one...but...I like my EA82T Leone's better.
  21. There are two different part number for the header.....one for 85-87, and one for 87-89....no detailed pics enough to tell a difference. Ive enver seen a difference in person...except this 88 has a bung, my 86 didnt...an 85 xt didnt, and the 89 rx didnt....and all of them look the same except for the bung. now for 1984 turbo...a completely different part number...but same illustration...cant see a bung. and same part number for 1983. Hmmm....maybe it was a Euro or JDM part that was sneaked in on the assy line....afterall, these things were assembled and built in JAPAN. The Land of all things SUBARU.
