  1. Sprayers are illegal too. Cant use CO2, chilled water, ice, dry ice etc....just AIR. ANd I DID find out taht I CAN use Air to Water...since the actual heat exchanger is colled by air. :-p
  2. ditto. illegal for all classes...even stock eventho the evo and sti come with them stock...cant use them.
  3. In STREET MOD class I can....however...i might want to have the car preped for EITHER FSP or SM...I cannot use a AWIC. That and i dont have the stuff and $ to do it.
  4. So its got about 65~75 deg F in Atlanta today for the Test N Tune....and the STi TMIC, while all great and cool, is not the best choice for Autox conditions...and it NEVER stayed cool at all, its HOT.....its called HEAT SOAK. So....Looks like im going to look into really doing one of those 28x6x2 1/2 inch FMICs for the "civic S13/S14 Mazda etc" on ebay. There is a 20 inch long one as well...no more than $175 for either one. 6 inch height is PERFECT for mount to the bottom of the bumper on the RX. Plus...no heat soak! But...more pipe to presurize...so there might be a tad more lag...BUT...I am going to put a Deadbolt PnP VF7 on it, so that should take care of any more lag (there is NONE now anyhow) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7960735293&category=33742 heat soak is bad, mmmmkay....
  5. The steering column has the remain as is from the factory or SM class. :-\ Hmmm....interesting!
  6. So...thats 2.5 turns lock to lock in the 05 STi. Im thinking 2 might do it...so custom rack for me.
  7. Not crazy, insane is the word. I am going to build this car to win Street Modified at Nationals...AND it be daily driveable.
  8. or housing assy as subaru calls it. SUBARU lists one PN for the 85-94 Leone/Loyale housings...and a different one for the XT. what IS the difference?
  9. I will need to use the knuckle up front, thats not an issue. I can probably have a new axle stub machined for the rear so the hub will slide on the shaft and bolt down. Then its a matter of making/finding a backing plate so the caliper hardware will mount up.
  10. Its a TD04L-13G. Says so plain as day on the casting. Ive seen 100's of them.
  11. MRT Camber/Caster plates on the front. The rear...lower=more negative camber.
  12. I am not using the rear knuckles..so I dont need the subframe. Just the backingplate/hub stuff. Saying stage keeps it all stright in my head, so knock it off. :-p
  13. Its very possible. The VF7 housing gets machined for clearance...and there is a shim/spacer made so that the 13G wheel can be pressed onto the VF7 shaft. And then you are done. However...that turbo will not be built. I am going to experiment with a complete TD04L-13G on it first.
  14. Ok, for my "Stage 5" setup....currently I am at stage 0.75....my plans are to use the 2005 USDM Impreza WRX STi Version front hub/knuckle on my Leone RX/II, and adapt the rear stuff onto the RX as well. I am also planning to equip the car with a 22B'ish widebody kit...17x13 rims (YES, 17 inch diameter and 13 inch width) and running 335/35/17 Khumo V710's as race tires and the Michelin Pilot sports in the same size for the street. The rims WILL be the correct offset/backspace as to not mess with the suspension/steering geometry too much...and I can almost do anything I want with control arms/trailing arms as long as I dont make/change the original mounting points for the class I am running in for Solo2...which is street mod. I will have a fully built transmission and about 400~450 at the crank with a good autox powerband (read, FAST spooling turbo, power from 2600 to 8000 etc) to turn that rubber, and full coilover suspension/bushings/etc.... Does anyone see any problems with this?
  15. Yep. Too bad the turbo wont be installed for quite some time....I am waiting for some other tihngs to get done first...like the RF wheel bearing, and get the car running smoother/better before the turbo goes on.
  16. SUBARU is good about having wiring already there for optional items. My RX already has wiring for the cruise control in it.
  17. Dood, look at the new thread in NASIOCSE by Templar.
  18. Yes. Faster spooling by ~300 RPMs or more...and abou 40% more efficient.
  19. Yeah, i think its to the point now of outrunning an STi thru the twisties if I can sqeeze 30 more HP/20 more TQ out of it with NO fuel cut....
  20. GR2's front, and the stock RX rears. The stock RX ones are STILL stiffer than the GR2s. I know I know...its UNDERDAMPED....but its not that bad really. Its fine or autox and street. For track or rally or rough stuff...I do need some more dampening...but its ok for now....ive got some secret stuf going on to get me some D2 coilovers...
  21. So the RX is WAY more pointy than an STi now. How? Ummmmm....350#/450# springs, 2+ deg of negative camber front, about 1.5 rear, and slight toe out on the front. The car WILL get sideways simply turing in. New brakes going on today! Going to test out some experimental Pads on blank rotors..... The 13G/VF7 hybrid is not going to end up being cost effective...so I've got a Deadbolt Port'n'Polished VF7 going on soon.
  22. Hey everyone.... does anyone know what the STOCK backspacing is for any given EA82 (gen3) car is? One with the standard 13x5.5 wheels, not a DL with the narrower rims....
