We've got D2 camber plates here at Prestige for somewheres around $140. I'll need to double check the price tho.

Saab 900 Intercooler & Bypass Valve install, version 1.2
WJM replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Cool. Next you need a larger intercooler. :-p -
the best mods for that car is a WRX turbo, a full turbo back for it, an intercooler....and a teeny bit of boost and you are going fast. 4 pot STi brakes are a direct bolt on....along with any WRX/RS brake system as well.

exh side only. I was going to have a 13G/VF7 hybrid...but thats alot of work. -
which reminds me that I need to get on the Top Speed DynoJet soon with the A/F hooked up.....
-
Finally got around to installing it today...gave him a stock VF7 and he P'nP'd it! It spools quicker ofcourse, theres way more top end then before, and overall the car feels much torquier....whatever bottom end was lost from the TWE header being on the car (some people argue that ALL the bottom end - below 3000 is GONE - I've yet to see that even with the otherwise stock setup) is back and better than ever! We'll see how it responds on an autox course comming April 3rd at CCR's Knights Castle event. Pics!

N/A distributor on a turbo
WJM replied to LPGsuperchargedBrumby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
IIRC 1987+ all the distys are the same....two diff PN's but basically the same item. 1985-early 1987...a train load of distys to choose from. -
Good thing I am the gunny pig and test everything before anyone else gets close to running into trouble... Ok, the turbo coolant line comming from the bottom of the head to the rubbger line below the turbo on the 1-3 side (pass. side for USA peeps)...MAKE SURE ITS ATLEAST 5-10MM AWAY FROM THE HEADER! Otherwise...in stock form it will lay on the header, and eventually wear a hole, in my case at this point a PIN HOLE, in the steel line...and it will LEAK COOLANT. New those lines are $116. i dont have that. So...some epoxy should fix that. Anyhow, pull the line away from the header and you wont have a problem. Now back to your reg. sched. programming.

Did I or JWX ever tell you about that? I didnt think so... Back early in march at the Test N Tune and Points event...at the test and tune we had 1 hour where the volunteer course workers (JWX, I and some others) got the course to ourselves. It was a VERY wide open course. I took JWX's RX, bone stock suspension, BFG 205/60/13's on the ENKIE golds, stock exhaust and Calebz old IC setup running stock boost. Well....scandinavian flick+slight trail brake action=FULL ON SIDEWAYS! I was suprised. I drifted 95% of the course, it was a 60 second course for a stock RX. There was a 180 turn on a nice flat section....flick+TB+STAND ON IT=30 deg slip angle all the way thru! It was fun. Just thought I'd share....im bored at work and I was thinking about it.

GC is impreza, 92-01, AWD 5spd. GC6 is 2.5 RS sedan USA, GM6 is 2.5 RS USA Coupe, GC8 is non-USA Sedan or Coupe EJ20x turbo powered 5spd, either WRX or STi or 22B-STi. GDA/GDB/GGx is the 02+ (00+ everywhere else) Impreza, the bug-eye WRX/STi and the new "crosseye" WRX/STi...along with the TS/RS models as well. any Bxx designation is legacy, and you can use those camber plates as well....but I would shoot for GDx chassis plates.
-
Ok....so eventually I will go to an Air/Water IC setup....right now Im going to cahnge my Pit stratagy for the autox to keep the IC cool, the STi TMIC that I have.....so I'll stick with it longer as I cant find the right parts at the right price and some of them are not even avalible. So....the heat exchanger core.... Ive got a Leone AC condensor core, you know, the rad looking thing that goes infront of the rad onthe car...and one from an 02 WRX. I was thinking of using that as the heat exchanger core. However...the only two problems i see with it is...SPACE...and the flow thru it. Im wondering if it will flow enough to be efficient. Hmmmm....
-
mine are max rated to 35...but I run them at 60.
-
cheg da nut.

if they fit the stock RS-WRX-STi-GC6/GM6/GC8, GDx/GGx, struts, they will fit ours. it woudl be BEST to use the GDx/GGx stuff....the 02+ Impreza/WRX/STi plates as they will give the most camber AND caster adjustment. (00+ everywhere else in the world) The GC stuff will only give you max camber...and under dynamic situations...under cornering load...the car will push badly. The MRT's i have I have FULL range of adjustment...and when set at max camber only the car pushes badly. When set to max caber+caster (pushed all the way back at a 45 deg angle towars the engine/firewall) the car handles nicely, and doesnt have excessive static camber when going stright on down the road.

front mount intercooler progress. I/C piping.(DUW)
WJM replied to gravelRX's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yeah, get that mandrel bend for the TB peice. looks great! You could probly use some filler on the pipes....it doent get THAT hot really....I woudl think it only get to about 190 on the outside....but then again, paint might act as an insulator on the turbo to IC side...and you dont really want that....but you would on the IC-intake side to keep heat out. -
damnit you guys.
