  1. ive been convinced for a while. Actually, Ive never had temp problems....except for hot autox, one mech fan, and SMALL radiator. *EJ......ej.....ej......*
  2. hahaha...Steven (pleiades) is pretty much my best freind on the suby community. That RS used to be mine...the RX his...other RX's his and mine...sometimes at the same time. i dont actually know what the breaking point was or is...all i know is that the A/Fs are TOO lean to run 15 psi...so, back to 12~13 psi now. As for the HG/Piston/Head....dunno which, but its NOT the piston...either HG or head as its leaking coolant somewhere. For sure...headgaskets DONT give a fair warning.
  3. if they were avalible right now...Id get a set. the plan is to borrow someone's car for a week, get a pass head (as this one has both the spark plug holes f'ed bad) from my old place, have the re worked, then next weekend come back down here and fix it...and bring it back home.
  4. 2: 140----1: 55 4: 136----3: 62 All in PSI. So...the 1-3 side is messed up. how can this just happend overnight?
  5. according to SUBARU...an EA82 shortblock shipping weight is 45 lbs. All the EJ engines are 110 lbs.
  6. So, after the dyno pulls friday night, im going back to 2pt5rs/Porter (NASIOC guys in atlanta) place, its a good 45 min drive, lots of hwy and on the gas alot in atlanta traffic. Get here, park...sleep at 2am...get up at 6am.... Go out, start it...misses some and stumbles....ok, turn off...lets start this over again. Start it up, idles right up and warms up normal and smooth. I get going, and Dr. Biggly is behind me, with his EDM (Euro Market projectors for bug-eye impreza) and there's smoke everywhere. 1 mile up the road, gas station....smell coolant in exhaust. Runs smooth and great like nothing is happening. Rev it up...more steam...runs fine. Ok, im not chancing it driving 50+ miles to the event site at high speed atlanta traffic. 1 mile back, im pissed as hell, i turn the boost to high and dam WOT the WHOLE way back. The steam clears and the car pulls fine like the night before and nothing is odd or out fo the ordinary WOT the way back. Stop, park...idle...small steam...still smell coolant. F it. Park...ride with Biggly to the site...and bum a car (2000 2.5 RS, fully DSP prepped, used to me my RS, now its our very own Pleiades' RS) to run in SM with. So....i get back here later in the day...fire it up...runs fine....I put my hand over the exhuast to make massive back pressure and peak under the car...and coolant is spraying out of the welding imprefections up front...NOT from the header, but from the cat section. I take the plugs out...they look like crap from 30k+ miles of abuse...no signs of coolant on them, no wetness either. Compression check as soon as Porter gets here. Talked to a few people, and Jerry @ Deadbolt...COULD be a cracked turbo housing sprewing coolant in the exhaust (I HOPE its that! I need to get back to Asheville sunday night!!!!!!!) Any other ideas? I dont understand how it could just blow a head gasket overnight.....or crack a head....turbo I can see as its a VERY abused 250k+ mile turbo that was severly overheated a few times.
  7. which is why there will be no more 13+ psi...i limit to 12~12.5.
  8. it WAY too lean to boost beyond 12 psi for track stuff...autox and SHORT (less than 5 seconds) busts are ok. that was NOT ping. that was the fuel cut gremlin. notice how it goes FULL lean when it cuts?
  9. it was the gremlin cut. that 1/4 of a second cutout that i have a problem with. the other 2 RX's and my wagon never did that. However...if i pump it up another 1~2 psi...it will fuel cut...the REAL cut...as in, no fuel until boost comes back down. I did tune it back down %4...which is about 1.5 PSI lower.
  10. Dude...thats just it. Showroom condition. NOTHING removed other than items for Autox...floor mats, all loose items. Basically...how you would by an STi from SUBARU...no floor mats. thats it!!
  11. Somehow we managed to loose the last run...looked very similar to run 5 tho...I hate we lost it. Was going to do one more run, but I decided to stop since its a tad lean... :-\ well, ok, a TON lean. Looks like injectors go static at 4k...under 15 PIS steady. this time. I atribute the 10/10 loss with the 3 way cat and 2 inch cat back...as before with no cat and 2.5 inch stright pipe, it was 10/10 more. http://consumer.inkfrog.com/pix/WJM/rx_run1.jpg http://consumer.inkfrog.com/pix/WJM/rx_run2.jpg http://consumer.inkfrog.com/pix/WJM/rx_run3.jpg http://consumer.inkfrog.com/pix/WJM/rx_run4.jpg First three runs are on stock boost. 4th on 15 PSI. 5th...the one we lost, was also on 15 PSI. 6th run...ha...like I said, since it was lean, we didnt run a 6th time. Ok, food and pack the car up...im tired too.
  12. Just threw it on CERTIFIED racing scales...weighed in at 2547.... After putting some things in to try and get it to legal weight, its up to 2574...with a 1/2 tank of gas. Full and it will be legal. I got pics of the scale screen when it was at 255x something. Ummm...yeah...its light.
  13. steering rack bushings wont be installed intime as I dont have them in hand yet....I'll be leaving for atlanta from asheville at 4pm...hope to be on the site by 7pm at the latest.... W00T!!!! National Tour+Old School subie=glory for the Leones!
  14. didnt have one with me. why? whats it supposed to be at/near?
  15. why? The last time the AC was used was about....5 months ago, and everything worked PERFECTLY and FLAWLESSLY. Then I unplugged the three connectors to the compressor so that it would not kick on and suck my MPGs over the winter months.... Now, time for AC to work again, I hook up the guages, and static wise, everything is perfect. Hook it all up, push AC on...engine idle up....engine idle down. No AC clutch engage. I stright wire the connector at the relay. Nothing. Then I wire straight to the positive terminal from the clutch...nothing. Not even a hint of spark or anything. what gives? Whats the problem? ive never had this issue.
  16. my track/autox suspension should cost me about $800~1200 from D2...or aobut $2500 for something more adjustable from Koni.
  17. I dont think that flywheel is going to be bad off. I didnt resurface my flywheel before my stage 2 install, and you know how hard I drove it. After thinking things over and over and judging the avalible options, time contraints and all that good stuff.....I ended up dropping the tranny out of the RX for the clutch job. Took me 2 hours by myself.
  18. no 5 lug due to no 5 lug parts....and I cant afford to buy new rims for street and race, and I cant afford tires for street and race. In order for me to do a proper 5 lug and put good track capable stuff on it...the conversion alone would total around $600. Race tires and rims=$600 as well....street tires and rims...another $400~$500. thats about $1600.....which I dont have. Plus...that $1600 can get me MS+DIS, a better turbo, better rotors+pads for continuous track use (instead of only 2~3 laps at a time before the brakes get too hot), 13x9 rims AND tires.....so, no 5 lug for a LONG time to come. That and I plan on having the fastest 4lug-EA82T RX on the face of the planet. My guess is that the Premiers are about 6~8 lbs with no tire, they are light as a feather. As for the trim....1 of 3 things...stay grey, go white, go black. Its going to stay grey for now.... I've got some of the original RX wheel covers....I was actually going to go back to steelies for the street and have those on the wheels...talk about sleeper!
  19. but they are the lightest....I like them above all the others.
  20. Yeah, after i took off all the other decals after not getting anything from them on the "new" car...and then going fast and outrunning people....the next time i asked for something...I either get at an extreme discount...or free if I promote them...so...promotion and publicity time. That and gotta get my name out there so I can go farther. I'll just REALLY have to be careful on the streets when the decals go on....
  21. Next mod...de-pinstripe and add the new boxer4racing.com and spaz-productions decals. And then...steering rack bushings plus ALL of the suspension bushings will be replaced with poly SuperPro bushings.
