WJM replied to WJM's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
thanks! OB shocks anyone? -
got a Q for you guys....what is the FULLY EXTENDED lenght on a 96 to 199 outback front and rear? now...for WRX/STi/non-Outback models...what is the FULLY EXTENDED lenght? I might be running an outback in H-Stock...and if the STi shocks meet the requirement, I'll install those....if not...well, its need the shocks anyhow, so I'll just suck it up an run STS and finnish DFL. :-p

I see. Its gone about 20k on the current config...sans the latest coolant leak for unknown reasons...so the Pass side head and headgasket got replaced. -
new intake gaskets. try that first....make sure all the old gasket material is cleaned off first.
-
there is no remain unit avalibe from subaru for manuals, just new and rebuilt at the dealer are the options....

Where did you hear that from? Ive got a 150k+ mile turbo shortblock in my RX right now, and it does not smoke one bit and i run 5w30 Motul Synthetic in it. -
Well, its back home in Asheville now. Its retired until May 24th....at which time it will roar to life again for autocrossing.

or does any EA82T i own just NOT like Atlanta? last week it was a head gasket...JWX and i worked thru the night and morning friday night/sat morning to get the car back together for the ProSolo today/tomorrow...and we did it. it was running perfectly and I made 8 ProSolo runs in SM and did quite well....on STOCK boost. However...on the way back to Top Speed....the cam pully bolts on the pass side backed out....right in the middle of traffic, pully came loose on one bolt, and the belt snapped....down on 2 cly. limped it to a nice safe parking lot. JWX has some spares....but after not sleeping in the last 40+ hours...im about to just give it up.

could have been a LATE 86...EARLY 87 build...85-86's came in a few different colors. 87-89 had white only....89.5+ had black avalible. Could have been a swapped car as well... 56B=RX tho. OH SNIT!!!!!!!! I just ran the SUBARU Vin Vehicle inquiry... its a GL-10 with the RX package. Built July 1st 1986. but it NOW. -
I just got that 1996 Outback I had a few years ago back. 1996 Legacy Outback (pretty much the base model...but Cruise, AC, Auto, power windows and locks...) its about to turn 200k miles with the original Phase 1 EJ25D in it. No leaks, no other problems. Drive like a champ. Does need new struts tho. Ive already got a new timing belt for it, it will go on when I get the car up to its new home. So...im thinking some 16" wheels with some nice tires, new struts...probably some WRX or STi take offs, window tint, install keyless on it, and its good to go. Might go for some upgraded speakers...its already got a nice new headunit that plays MP3 CDs. Daily driver, finnally! The RX can rest and become the fully dedicated race car now. hmmm....OB=tow vehicle? Yes! STi brakes, upgrade the suspension for it, and add a receiver hitch!
-
I just priced out everything to install air suspension on a Leone..... 95% of it is still avalible in the country, only one peice would be needed from JAPAN. However....its not cheap.... But....working at a dealer has is peaks...aka obsolete parts 'found' in dumpster....

Beef: thats awesome!

well....they are about the same from what I remember. -
Thanks to the guys at Top Speed in Atlanta, I'll be working on the RX getting it back running. The next morning...7am...I will have to show up with the car and run in the SCCA ProSolo...then, make the 250 mile trip back home. My budget is in the redzone...so I'm going to have to be creative. Ive got a new head and gasket to go on the pass side... its all or nothing friday night...
-
Cant beat free. Go back and get it with a bill of sale. You would bne stupid to not get it. Ive paid ~500 each for 3 RX's that needed a TON of work. I didnt have any issues. I also paid $100 for a DL wagon...complain? no. It was cheap and in 20 mins it ran perfectly.

I got a laugh from the dealer parts guy
WJM replied to pyromanic's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'll sell them for $240. But yep...they are $300 new. There are remans avalible...we've never had issues with them, we sell a ton of them. Those are $112 USMB cost. -
Lidnsey? Who's that?
