Play the Name Game
wow, you get the prize. i couldn't agree more. One of the most dissapointing things is that i know that eventually i'm going to have to get a new car. i would really love to get a new subaru, infortunatly, i won't have the cash by the time i'll need a new car, so i'd look in the market of used subies. now, no offense to anyone, but i'm a legacy man myself. i HATE....let me reiterate....HATE the 2000-2004 models. I think they're way to grandma and grandpa. no wonder they lost a big group of the younger crowd. this being said, by the time i'll be getting a "new to you" subaru i'll HAVE to get an ugly legacy, just to make the wife happy (in not getting a really old car). *grumble grumble* i hate this whole "time" thing.

Something Very Bad Happened
when the brake "system" (caliper/ disc) leaned forward after removing the strut, it pulled the axle out. I don't know how, it didn't happen on the other side.. which is why i'm worried.

Play the Name Game
now that's a good idea! hard to pronounce though

Something Very Bad Happened
we put it back in after greasing the end with assembly goo for good measure, and everything works swimmingly ...i hope

Something Very Bad Happened
there was a snap ring, but as far as i could tell, that was it. yes, out of the transmission.

Something Very Bad Happened
yesterday when i putting in my new struts, some bad happened...at least i think it was bad. When i removed my right front strut and spring, the brake disc obviously fell forward.. not a problem. The problem was, however, that the axle fell out of the transmission. I was able to get it back in, but the fact that that happened scares me. Should i be worried?

Play the Name Game
i got this idea from a thread that started about the upswing in subaru pricing. If Subaru created a highline (Honda/Acura - Toyota/Lexus - Nissan/Infinity), what would (should) it be called?

A Success!!!
maybe this should be in the offroad forum on account of the fact that that's where i asked all of my questions...

A Success!!!

A Success!!!
I finally did it! Today i didn't make a dime at work because i never clocked in becuase i put in brandy new Outback Struts on my 96 legacy!!! Man, does it EVER make a difference!! The rear was tough, but my and my buddy managed. We got all four struts in and gave it an alignment using outback specs and i finally came into alignment. Once the new struts were in i put on a set of used 215/70R15 tires on, to see if they would fit, and they did - no problem. Now, i'm going to get 215/75R15 Kelly Safari DT/R's and my creation will be (for the most part) complete!! Pictures to come

I need to know this NOW!
is that for certain? I'm thinking about just getting loaded struts from monroe that come with new everything
-
I need to know this NOW!
right, my question is that is i buy outback struts are the springs different than the non-outback (specifically)
-
I need to know this NOW!
Here's the dilema... i needs struts for my 96 legacy. i want to get outback struts for it for the extra height. Does anybody know if i need to get new springs too???? i say i need to know this now because it technically failed inspection (PA).
