Need a simple wiring diagram
I bought fog lights and hooked them up directly to the low beams. due to PA state inspection regulations, the fog lights need to turn off when the high beams are active. due to the odd wiring that i did, there's some weird stuff going on, none of which matters in this thread. anyone have a simple diagram to hook up fog lights to a 96 legacy (correctly)?

AWD feels like driving rear wheels only, malfunction?
it depends on how you drive it. i purposefully do that with my 96legacy to do donuts. if you take a 4x4 truck and stop it, turn and floor it then you're going to do donuts. 4wd doesn't matter

Problem keeping air in my tires...
LosDiosDeVerde86 replied to mattocs's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXtake it to a shop, tell the guys to take off the tires (all four, or just the worst) and tell them to sand the rims to get the corrosion off from between the rim and bead of the tire. Also, you need to air up your tires every couple of weeks. tires lose pressure, thats just how it is. especially in the winter, your tires can lose up to 5psi per 10 degree change in tempurature.

Wider Tires? (225/50-16)
good god no. someone came into our garage and wanted to do exactly that. Clearance is perfectly fine. the wheels are FAR too narrow for 225. the biggest you can safely go it 215. any wider and the tires REALLY stretch onto the rims. it's a scary thing!

2 Different Subaru boat ideas....
the main thing that needs to be kept in mind is that a marine engine can be tached out all day and be fine. An auto engine is connected to a tranny so that it will reach high speed without being tached out, because it can't handle that kind of a pounding.

Shock Conversion
My Legacy's a 96 with 102000 miles on it. Same shocks. I think it's time for a switch. I'd love to put outback shocks on it for the extra inch or two of ground clearance. Anyone know if 95-98 Legacy Outback (sedan) shocks and springs will fit a 96 Legacy LS (sedan)?

Legacy skidplates??

Most embarassing place you've been stuck in your Ru?
my own driveway. last winter i pulled into it (snow covered) went onto my normal place to park and when i stopped, the car dropped about a foot into the snow... well...maybe not a foot. it dropped until the floor of the car was resting on the snow and the wheels were suspended in the snow. what was awful...

I finally put bigger tires on
for those of you who were following my threads about SUV tires on my Legacy, i finally got the new tires.......sorry for wasting everyone's time, i went one size bigger all around (205/65R15) Goodyear Regatta 2s. though they're not as exciting as some kind of off road tire, i do HIGHLY recomend anyone with a 2nd gen legacy to go the one size bigger. the tires don't have that flat look to them, they fill out the wheel wells better and the car handles smoother and doesn't feel as small. another good thing is that the bigger size, though bigger, isn't really big enough to effect the speedometer a whole lot.

(mileage check) Who's got the mileage record?
