  4. I would go with a combo of Scoobywagon and Delta brat... My father did something very similar... and i think using the 2 takes care of the before and after. $.02

  12. I live in the Skagit Valley WA. I'm a 85 Brat owner ist time owner but not new to them. My Not so little brother has had 5-6 of them as weel as each of his friends... I'm working on figuring out how i want to lift the front end of my brat... Suspension only... I have a couple of parts rigs (wagons) one of wich i'm in the process of stripping righ now. I have a roll bar installed along with the jump seats. I have the factory push bar, need to paint and install, and want to install some lights and do a higher amp rated alternator... Probably install the 5 speed i'm pulling out of the parts rig currently... I mostly want this for a hi speed desert runner/ daily driver.
  13. I'm from Mt Vernon and have an tan85 bratt. I think i have seen your rigs around.... I have ?? about doing a suspension lift 2-3 in in the front to match the cranked torsion on the rear... You know anything about it? My shop is on the westside... Give me a shout please... jason 425.210.8124

  14. They make lifts for ifs trucks that include longer axles and upper/lower A arms.. Keeps the angles about right but increases ride height and suspension travel. I know of lots of different manufactures for Baja style kits, so i figured i'd ask around before i jump into the abyss.
  15. Hi I'm new to board. I have an 85subaru brat Its kind of a beater but I'm OK with that.... It is my first Subaru but my brother's 5th. He had wagons in the 80-86 vintage hi low transfer case.... We were thinking of trying to fab up a suspension lift of like 2 in without dropping the engine cross member. He seemed to think that a block about the Mac Pherson strut of 2 inches and lengthening the Swing arm, control rod, and axle would do the job... Has anyone tried this? The use of 1", 3/4", 1/2 schedule 40 pipe should sleeve the axle, control rod, and steering rod. I've done some fender trimming and not afraid to to more.. I'm running 26in 205/75R14 on steel Pug rims. I just cranked the back torsions slight trimming. Front I hammerd down the pinch weld on the firewall and some trimming around the lower front rear plus a little trimming on the plastic fender well... I only experience a little rubbing, but I'm not rallying it yet. My brother is a mechanic by trade and i have access to a lift and welder. Just looking for a little insight if you have any. I have a parts rig so i have 2 of everything i need if it goes poorly. thanks
  16. So can you just toss a delco 12si into the bratt if your willing to make the bracket? I have an 85 with the AC....The engine must be an ea81. Or would it be better/easier to get a 2nd stock alternator and run it? I just plan on running a winch or LOTS of lights. No one said how many amps the stock ones put out. BTW new to the forum.... First time bratt owner, however my brother and his friends have had 25 wagons all in the 80-86 vintage (Hi low tranfer case).
