  1. there is a guy running around concrete with a black jag which he has changed to all chevy engine and running gear and WIRING i dont know how hard it would be but my great grandpa did the same thing to a caddilac because a head light cost $20 but a old chevy one was only a couple.
  2. maybe ill do it all, get a new oil pump and new seals and belts, a small overhaul of the engine i have a friend with a shop so i have a place to keep it and i have time so thats not a problem. what else should i replace while i have the engine apart?
  3. found this while cruzing the web
  4. i hate to admit it but i think that you are right, i need a new oil pump, because it used to run fine before and even after an oil change, and im using 10w-30 its still ticking and the pressure is all over.
  5. Well my car oil pressure went way down after driving in the snow. took it home and changed the oil and it did not change things at all. the oil pressure is all over and im sure its not just the sensor because the tick of death has returned to my car. what should i do, its making me mad:banghead: one more thing can i take the clutch out of my 90 loyale and put it in an 87 gl with a dual range.
  6. haha SS as in sailing ship subaru, i like the boat idea, nice picture
  7. i make people in my town mad by taking my loyale and shifting into second at red line while going 30mph i dont take it on the highway much so i dont know what second will do but my car just loves the high r's.
  8. a couple good pics of some cars would be good i need to get down there and get an axle, something i have needed to do forever, stupid me
  9. yeah high r's and the pressure drops but it never recovers it just stays at zero then i shut it off wait a while and them start it back up and its at 45psi then start to take off and the guage drops again i have no idea
  10. thats whats weird everything seems normal except for under hard accelerating then the oil pressure goes to 0, i will check the oil pump otherwise i have no idea. and yes i just changed the oil and filter and it only has little leaks like every other subaru, also i put a full 4 quarts in and its perfectly at full on the dip stick. oh im also using 10w-30
  11. Well i was driving my 1990 Loyale around in the snow and on my way home after spinning some slow donuts because im 2wd right now i noticed my oil pressure go from 45-50psi to 0psi we put in some oil and we accidentaly put in to much so i decided to change it because that hasnt been done since i got the car which was about a year ago and i have only driven the car about 2000 miles since i got it. so after we change it i let it idle and everything seems to be fine i drive it across our churches parking lot to pick up some rims from a friend and everything is still fine then as i take off up the road getting the rpm's up to about 3k the oil starts dropping and my car starts to jerk got it home and i have no idea whats wrong. i need help bad.
  12. Nice job!! Just took out the loyale today and span some donuts in the dark its been really cold here like 25 degrees so the field i was doin it in was frozen. just make it easier to spin. when i got home i felt down the side in case of dents from small trees but all i could find were frozen streams of water from driving through frozen puddles. by the way thats a nice wagon, man i need to not be so lazy and get my 4wd drive fixed.
  13. Maybe we should have a subaru art contest using that paint pad.

i have some 15" rims just waiting for the tires to be removed so i can put some new ones on, only problem is the tires i have a huge so i will need a lift bad.http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=2456&sort=1&cat=500&page=1
  15. a guy came to our church driving one, white, about 93, wagon too. i wanted to talk to him the next sunday but i havent seen him in a while had a scratched out mail sticker on the side and everything.
  16. once i get a 3" lift i want to put 30"-9.5"-r15 on my loyale wagon not sure if they will fit but if they dont a good saws all might be in order. plus i already have the tires and rims so i will make sure they fit. i have pics of them in the photo gallery.
  17. if that car only has 70k on it, it should last you way more than through college mine was driven 200 miles a day one way for a guy to get to work and mine has 276k really nice car though and welcome to the board.
  18. ive pegged my loyale out at 8,000, only for half a second though didnt know what would happen and with a glass pack it was loud got a lot of looks.
  19. well when i got my wagon it had 274,000 on it and since i dont drive it very much because of insurance reasons i have only got it up to about 276,500 the guy who had it before me drove it from were i live to seattle everyday which is about 150 miles one way. still runs great even how i drive it:brow:
  20. if its like my 90 wagon then turning it to the right unlocks it and it should turn a ways to the left about 45 degrees from stright up and down that locks it, try and squirt some liquid graphite in it mine stuck for a long time but that stuff freed it up.
  21. i have some pictures in my folder of the rims and the tires which are on other rims. the rims are shallower on the inside than the stock subaru wheels.
  22. ok i havent ever had a good answer on this and i know i sound stupid but will 30" by 9.5" tires on a 15" rim fit a loyale with a 3" inch lift. is it possible to cut the fenders to get them to fit i dont care about cutting im just worried about them rubbing when i turn.
  23. 276,000 plus maybe 500 cant remeber what it is exactly(My Loyale) still runs like a champ.
  24. no im pretty sure it was my lifters, a guy told me that and i put in the treatment and it worked, i said he could try it not what it was, i wouldnt know if it was gas or oil knocking
  25. alright, im close to local, kind of, i would come pick one up if i ever get the cash and you could get it.
