Coolant house question.
I used a flex hose with built in spring for the bottom hose and it's worked great so far, i got it from advance auto.

I am REALLY hoping i can start a build thread on rescuing this 1980 Brat found behind a house here in Cheyenne. Me and the owner are in the process of getting a title. Its in really good shape.

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
I had a badly cracked knock sensor on my engine as well and replaced it with a new one, you have to be careful when you reinstall the new one so the connector kind of points a certain way, if you dont you can break the new sensor and it won't seat well. Definitely look it up on here for some images.

Fuel flooding at start up
G, we found a bad fuel pump relay at first. We replaced it with a spare i had and now it clicks on like it should to prime the line. We also checked the starter signal wire and that was good, next was the coolant temp sensor and that was also good. We are definitely leaning heavily towards a leaky injector, dude has already went to the junkyard and snagged new, well other ones and fuel rails. We will replace all O rings with new and check that.

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
Hey Mitch, do you have the harness still strung outside of the car, or do you have it all installed? How is you ignitor (igniter?) wiring looking? Also, where did you mount it at?

Fuel flooding at start up
...crickets. ha. After looking at that thing and thinking about it i really do think it is a leaky injector or torn O-ring etc. Get you some new O-rings and put them new suckers in. I can't wait to hear what happens, especially after you told me about the truck incident and what happened to the one injector on that one fateful day...

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
Just had a thought having to do with the IAC, on my first swap i did, i also ran all of my own wires to the sensors (which was ridiculous) Either way when i ran the wires i criss crossed the two signal wires to it and it wouldn't run. After switching those two wires it ran! Maybe there's a chance you have them backwards?

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
That's good to know, i will have to go out and check oyt my wiring. I can tell you for certain that i do not have the vehicle speed sensor or neutral switch hooked up and now i am very curious as to what will happen if i do. Gloyale, would you mind setting us up with a link here to your write up on the EA to EJ swap? That would be super helpful, you have to remember that most of us who attempt this swap go off of numbchux write up which don't get me wrong it is great for the basics but alot of the detail in the neutral switch, vss, etc would be super helpful bud! Thanks!

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
No, on the back of the starter there is a fat black/red wire, like 14 gauge that has a plug that slides into the starter. Maybe, yours doesn't have that wire? Hmm

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
Yeah and as a matter of fact when i was out there i noticed the wire is a fat black with red trace that i spliced into. It kills me that you are so far away bro, if you were close i'd be over there helping you out and help make sense of the whole thing, and also give you loads of shielded wire i have left over!

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
Is it a digital one? If so you can use the continuity setting to find exactly where those wires originate from the motor. That or use can use the ohm setting bud.

87 GL Wagon (picture heavy)
Nice fan bro, did you get it off of amazon? Is it an 8"? Also, how are you going to wire it in? Since i live in Antartica where its freezing most of the time i wired both of my fans into two seperate switches. None come on automatically, just have to remember to turn it on but that's not hard to do!

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
Im out herr looking at my engine and while i can't help you with the extra tps plug, i can tell you that at the tps plug that goes into the tps there are only 4 wires, a brown, black, red, and white. While i'm here i mine as well tell you that off of one of the square plugs coming from the engine harness there is a white with green trace wire, that is the temp gauge wire, (the one i mentioned about using the 270 ohm resistor) and another wire, a green with white trace. That one is the fuel pressure wire. If your donor was like mine there was no pressure gauge, just a light. Do what you want with that wire. I forgot to ask but i assumed you have a electrical meter so you can find where wires go right?

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
I wish i could my man, but i went agains't the unbreakable laws of EA to EJ swapping and ran my own 6 conductor wire from the ecu to the TPS for that. So i can honestly say nothing about that plug brother haha.

EJ Swap Wiring Questions
I was referring to the coil that sits underneath the fusible links. There is a yellow wire on one terminal and a black on the other. If you splice the tach wire into the yellow one your tach in the car will read. Glo, Glo, Glo...Both of my EJ swaps were from 5 speed Legacies both being year 1990. Meaning I never hooked it up. Ever.. That neutral switch means nothing to this ECU in a manual, how the hell would this ECU know whether the car is traveling 1 mph anyways? Are you sure you're not confusing this OBD I ECU with an OBDII? This OBD I ECU is not as complicated as it is being made out to be. Geeezus.
