im new to the roos
Looks like a sweep project, I've seen some pretty sick looking brush gaurds that were custom built for what you're wanting to do. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=48353&page=2 That would be a good thing to add to the list for protection, and straight coolness!!!

Can some please help identify this?
Looks to me like it could be part of your PCV system for crankcase breathing? Possibly a vacuum hose, but looks a little small... Sorry not much more help but that's where I would start..

That's where I would start... Also, check for a wiring diagram on Google and find the location and there ya go!

Is there a pictorial walk-through for this?
bpearson replied to Chefasaurus's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHere is a site that I used for step-by-step on how to remove my 97 OB 2.5 and swap it with a 96 2.2. Hope it helps! http://beergarage.com/SubyHoist.aspx

He's no Ken Block but damn impressive
AGREED! I like watching KB's videos and you do have to admit, drifting RWD around a simple track and racing/gymkhana with AWD is WAY WAY different... If you don't belive that, you haven't drifted an AWD on pavement. WHAT A RUSH!!!

help me identify the noise!
Axle could be dry and worn? Suspension worn out and causing squeeking sound. Tie rod ends and bushings? Jack your front end up and take the tire off, get in there with a bright light and start noising around and look for anything obvious. Maybe just do a simple new bearing and repack everything with grease and brake cleaner on metal components.

Gas inside cabin with rain water
HMMMM.... Start with the fuel tank and check all lines, grommets, connections and hoses for leaks, cracking, or rubbing on moving parts. Start tracing it back to the front and be thourough:brow: Here's a link that someone was having troubles similar to yours. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=117524 Kinda sounds like you have a water leak around a window if there is water on the floorboards? Follow your nose, it's the best thing to track down the leak

radiator fans
bpearson replied to cohophysh's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes I belive so... Start following the wires back and look for anything physical like cracked, split, torn wires and check your connections at the fan motor to see if your getting and juice. You should be able to find a wireing diagram with a proper Google search and that helps out, wireing is a pain but this looks to be an easy fix. Here's a start for the cooling fans: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=75457

Differential fluid change
bpearson replied to Dennis Methvin's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJust a thought>>>>> If its been a long while since its been changed, what I've done is once the rear diff is drianed I use a can or carb cleaner with the straw attachment and stick it in the top hole and blast out any junk and metal shavings that could still be stuck in there. There is some nasty looking black crud that comes pooring out and it helps to clean the metal surfaces so the new oil has a better ability to penetrate/protect... Its worked good for me. Wouln't recomend this for the front diff though, not sure what effect it would have, could be harmless but I haven't done it....

My New Ride
bpearson replied to SubaruJawn's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXExedy is a great way to go, plenty of hold power for your application... Looks like the ebay seller has good feedback, but you could do some price shopping around or maybe just messge him and make an offer since he does have 3 available??? I've learned that it pays off in the end to get quality parts now, than to buy cheap and have to tear it down in a few months The Flywheel shouldn't be too big of a deal, you can even look for a quality used one on craigslist or ebay classifieds, make sure there are no cracks and it's been properly resurfaced... Good luck, and happy motoring!!
