  1. That's Beefaru's Wagon...just had it repainted not that long ago. Look for his Overhauling Beefaru thread. There's ALOT more to that car then just it's looks. EJ22/2" Lift/RX trans with 4.11 gears and a forester 5th gear/4.11 Rear Diff to match it too! Incredible machine.
  2. Sounds like a good plan, when I was a kid we used to do it every winter...now my wife hates to clean up after them so we too have a fake one. I'm game depending on where I might need to leave an hour or two before everyone since my top speed in the lifted rig is 58mph ! Lucky to do 45-50 climbing the mountain highways...I need an EJ22 in that thing (and Eric's drivetrain )
  3. Hmm Eric your link isn't working for me... Edit nevermind didn't see you were still uploading them..why are you guys up so late? At least I have an excuse I'm at work (came in early so I can sleep later)
  4. Well I only took a couple since I was busy throwing mud all over my car, looks like a real rig now! So let's see everyone's pics/movies they got... My few are here: Colorado Subaru Meet Sept 06' Someone has got to have a good action shot of my rig... Oh and this is my favorite out of mine, when Tom finally gave in and hit the mud pit! (full size image in above link)
  5. Yep I had a blast, hope everyone else did too. Starting a new thread for those with pictures/movies...get em uploaded so I can see some (was too busy throwing mud everywhere ) cause I only got a few.. We gotta do it again soon. Special Props out to Subaru_dude for driving 500+ miles out his way on his long trip to come to a Barb-a-que! Edit: Someone left 4 blue camping chairs here..they are safely locked in my shed come claim them when you want.
  6. 10ish...no no 12ish (You come at 10 and you'll probably find me in my sweat pants drinking coffee still) and a repost for everyone: So looks like this: When: Saturday September 23rd, 12pm'ish Where: My house, unless we actually get a ton of people that want to come Address: 15892 W. 1st Drive, Golden, 80401 Phone: Seven 2 Zero Nine 6 Two 6 Zero 0 Nine Directions: From 6th Ave, take it to Indiana, go south on Indiana till you come to the 6th Ave frontage road (first light just south of 6th). Take a right (west) on the 6th Ave frontage road. Follow the frontage road past the fairgrounds and stay on it as it turns south and begins to go up a big hill past a bunch of businesses. Keep going on the frontage road (keep an eye out for my future Brat on the right about halfway up the hill, unless I have it in my driveway by then) and as you approach the top of the hill you are going to hit a dead end and can only take a left. So go ahead and take a left and that is 1st Drive. I'm about halfway down the block on the right, can't miss my driveway with the RX, Lifted Sedan, wife's legacy, etc. Really the only one on my block that has a huge driveway on the side of my house. I know it sounds kinda hard, but believe me it's super easy to get here, I just suck at giving directions. Several of you have been here, and don't think anyone has ever had a problem finding it.
  7. Ok everything is good to go for tomorrow (think I even got the lifted rig fixed, not that it really matter for tomorrow but was able to rearrange my driveway) Ok few things my driveway is fairly large so if you park nice and tight there will be more parking for everyone. This is a picture from me standing on my sidewalk tonight afer my rearrange: As you can see plenty of parking, we will defintely over flow into the street. My neighbors tend to park in front of my house but keeping my fingers crossed they don't tomorrow (don't mistake my house for my neighbor with the twin legacies). Another thing about parking, the neighbor directly up the street from me needs a parking space in front of his house (or he gets mad) so try not to park there. Only other thing I need maybe Eric or Jerry can grab on their way here is a bag or two of ice. (Since both of you are showing up a tad early to help get the canopies setup) One of you handle that? Really looking forward to tomorrow, hope you guys are too!
  8. A totally cheap CMT POS (only saying that cause this is first attempt at welding I've ever made, actually welder seems to work good) 90amp 110v wire-feed flux core welder, don't have money for anything else and paid $130 for it, so no biggie. Once I refianance the house in a few years and get my garage built/driveway redone then it will be time for building up the big tools. Till then still working on remodeling the inside of the house, no room for the big~good stuff in the shed.
  9. Wouldn't mind being able to play someplace...will see if it even snows. The RX prob isn't going to handle well in the snow now with those 205/60 street performance tires on it though...and well I got my cheap rump roast welder and am trying to fix the lifted rig but I SUCK at welding so is not going good so far. Should've been cleaning the house today but gotta play with your new toys right? Plus I ran over and picked up an engine for Mike, which meant I had to swap batteries around and get the old beast of a truck on the road again. Just got hit the grocery store tomorrow, and maybe do some cleaning (10 bucks says I'm outside trying to weld my header back together still ) and will be all ready for the Barb-a-que. Well as ready as I'm going to get. Oh and in case anyone gets lost my home number is seven two 0 nine 6 two 6 zero 0 nine Don't forget to bring some chairs (I did not get out to buy any and right now there is 1 in my backyard lol)
  10. I'm 99% sure we will still be on, after all this the Rocky Mountain region...not like any of us are scared of 50 degree weather and chances of some snow. Like I said I have huge mostly unfinished basement we can hang out in while the Barb-q is going outside if needed. Just want to make sure the weather doesn't scare EVERYONE off..as long as even half the people are still coming it's on!
  11. Ok guys, the weather man has got me a tad worried....calling for a high in the 50's with chances of snow on Saturday, what do you all think? Shall we go ahead or push it back? I do have a large basement if needed, and we could hang out down there and watch Cannonball Run while we blab. Would hate to call it off after all the planning. Let's hear what you guys think.
  12. It was a no, then I tried to offer him some cash ($100 to be exact) and a promise letter of no responsibility and it turned into a resounding no...guess that offended him I tried though. Hmmm thanks for the offer Zye, but I did buy a cheap rump roast 90amp flux-core welder (and hoping it will be here by then, since I've never welded a thing before maybe I can get you guys to help). Is about time I get around to learning how to weld even if it is with a cheap welder. Always have had someone else do it, but now the lifted rig can't really move until I fix it so what better time to get a welder and try and fix it myself with some help.
  13. Ahh I got em covered, all the bad luck hit me this weekend. Someone backed into the RX in the parking lot at work (slightly bent back bumper, etc no major damage but still was a hit and run, I know it was a red car!), and when I went to go fix a stripped header bolt on the lifted rig I discovered that 3 of them are stripped so now it's sitting in my driveway with no exhaust (need to cut the flanges and rotate them, weld back on, I don't own a welder yet )...so hopefully I covered the Subaru problems for the week for everyone. Who's bringing what so I know what not to buy as far as food/drinks go????
  14. Cool glad to hear it....that cherry red brat is staying at my house when you guys leave right??
  15. Any Subaru lover is welcome to come on over, still trying figure out how I'm gonna give everyone a place to sit..but I will work it out. Bring folding chairs if ya got em guys! As far as the play land goes...well it's not so far. It's a friend of a friend that owns the land. I have been out there a few times with my buddy who builds rigs for a living, but the owner isn't too keen on Subaru's and everytime I go over with my buddy he gives me hell.. "Don't get that car stuck out on my land". Which is funny since my lifted sedan has more clearance than this guys Ford F150... Anyways so far he has said no, doesn't want to be responsible for anyone getting stuck, getting an accident on/off the paved roads on his property, and frankly is being kinda a jerk. It is his land so I will respect him for that, but my buddy tears it up out there and he is worried about a few Subarus? I am going over to his place tomorrow with my buddy and going to see if I can't pad the deal with some cash & the promise he won't be held responsible for anything. I wouldn't count on it though :-\ So we are looking like about people 10-12 people or so. So far we have: Jerry Jeff Myself Shawn Tom (Eyesore) Mike Beefaru (Sorry man, for the life of me I can't remember your name don't take offense I have a terrible memory for names..super glad your going to make it though, your wagon needs to be shown off more it's an amazing machine. Though all of us would really like to take your tranny apart and figure out how they did the 4.11 conversion on it!!!!!) Tom (TomsBrats)? Erik? Russ? Luvmybrat? Subaru_dude? Stuff that could be brought to help: Chairs, folding table, chips & dip (or whatever), maybe some drinks (I will make sure to provide at least some of everything we need for a good Barb-a-que) and of course YOURSELF. Bring your Sube if you can, if not no big deal this isn't a show just a get together for us old school guys to hang out and get to know eachother a bit better. Sucks to only run into most of you at the JY, Subaru dealership, and those huge meets just don't cut it for getting to actually know someone. And the few of you I've actually got to know are some of the nicest guys I've ever met.
  16. Aye the 23rd about noonish, less than 10 days away...you coming Russ? Taking a few days off before the meet to get my house/yard up to par...oh and for the record ALL of my Subarus run and drive!
  17. I have no idea what they charge for engines anymore, Jerry might know better than me. Actually I think Jeff got his engine there..what did they charge you Jeff? Though that was a 6 and not a 4cyl. Yep it's the one off Santa Fe, my favorite yard really. Sometimes they rip you off a tad, sometimes it's a sweet deal. But they almost alway have a ton of old Roo's around for me to pick through.
  18. There is 70's 4wd wagon that I saw at Colorado Auto Parts today too..
  19. Is this for your XT6 Jeff? Or your friend's car you were telling me about today at the JY? (thought you said just push-button 4wd)...anyways will keep my eye out, there was none that I saw at Colorado today since I know you were concentrating on that XT6 while you were there. I had walked the whole yard before we saw eachother.
  20. Finally had some time to run to the JY for some parts I've been looking for for the wife's legacy (couple seatbelts, misc other things) did not find the heated mirror though still...anyways had some good spots while I was there so thought I would throw them up for you guys: 88 SPFI Red Sedan with 55k on it, smashed from back corner (had a brand new alt, that is with me now) would be one hell of a donor engine though! At least 20+ other EA82's, no LSD's to be found though, and all the 4wd turbo's were sitting on the rear discs So still no rear discs or LSD for the lifted rig, but I did get it a present. Couple of good complete EA81 wagon's, several Justy's of different ages Best of all there was a 70's 4wd Wagon (2 headlights with the big silver thing in the middle of the grille), was complete and in decent shape with another engine sitting in the back...poor thing, too bad they don't sell cars out of there. Grille was perfect and I should've pulled it but busy looking for other things. No pics and can't say exactly what year it was but I snagged the 4wd emblem off of it for my lifted rig: And of course I ran into Jeffast123 and we blabbed while ripping the rear end of an XT6 apart to get him an axle (and it was raining most of the time of course)....not much left of this car, and man did we have a hell of time getting that axle off. Walking out to the parking lot and to my surpise there is a 3-door maroon EA82 coupe sitting in the parking lot, kinda rare to see those around...wonder if the owner saw my RX sitting in the back of the parking lot. Anyways just an update and always good to run into your fellow Roo buds at the JY.
  21. So far we have: Jerry Jeff Myself Tom? Erik? Russ? Mike? Pat? Dave? --------- People we have yet to hear from: Shawn Tom (Eyesore) Phil & everyone else who hasn't posted in the thread at all...looks like a it might just be a few of us guys. Sorry to hear you won't be joining us Laura, but duty calls!
  22. Your always welcome at one of our meets Dave (as is anyone who wants to come), this is just gonna be a small Barb-a-que but if your going to be in town drop on in!
  23. The hood protector will come with straps and clips that attach to the underside of your hood to keep it in place. So no one can come buy and just take it off unless they can open your hood to do it. It shouldn't flap on the highway if you get it on there nice and tight, mine didn't until I added the hood-pins under which lifted it up enough that air would go under it and make it flap a tad. Few magnets put inside the stiffening lips took care of that. I'm sure if you wanted to silicone the thing on you could...most of us probably wouldn't go that far, but it's your car.
