  1. i had a silver 2wd model a couple years ago. this is alot more fun, 2wd just doesnt cut it... this car has alot planned for it, some along the lines of sleeper. The car is all built in my head just waiting for my wallet to catch up rllywgn
  2. pretty neat http://www.iroczone.com/calcs/injectorsize.htm i entered my figures with an idea of what i thought i needed.. it was pretty close. rllywgn
  3. im trying to be as subtle as possible until i can back it up.. intercoolers all mocked up, just need to weld up some brackets. got a good BOV to throw in there also. found a 280z at jy so im gonna go grab 8 or so fuel injectors, although im still trying to figure out how to hook up an adjustable fuel pressure regulator properly on the ea82t.. rllywgn reliable power wanted!
  4. roof rack? i thought about getting one but decided that was more of a wagon thing. rllywgn
  5. so here it is my 1988 GL-10 ft4wd turbo.. went out into the mountains and snapped a few shots on its first outting.. call it a test run.. need to verify everythings gonna work before i go dirt crazy and the new license plate frame.. rllywgn
  6. car passed deq like a champ... im so proud of it. so yeah its good to go legally.. whats up for next weekend (2/17-2/19)? id be interested in some trail runs, anyone have a field for rallycross? rllywgn
  7. my car should be legal tomorrow... so if anyone is going out this weekend i may be game... i wish i could say for sure but i got to go through the deq/dmv run around tomorrow.. may even get the new intercooler and bov installed rllywgn
  8. Got bored today and decided to do some polishing... the intercoolers almost done.. it's in the car... trying to get the mounting just right... more pics to come rllywgn
  9. new toys for the car.. just wanted to show off a little.. both off a talon awd turbo... going back on friday for the turbo.. i hope nobody snags it before i get there 40 bucks! gotta clean them up and get em on more pics to come. rllywgn
  10. chazmataz, im almost done with my map.. i think i can get from washougal to mt st. helens without touching a paved road!!! its gonna be rad (yeah i said rad). Ive toured much of larch mountain and surrounding areas over the past year and im hoping this map may be key to some great rally stages.. basically the more the merrier.. p.s. also working on a camera/ harness bar (think sparco) should make for some great videos! rllywgn
  11. i think the thing about the ea82 is figuring out what works on other cars with similarities and being able to apply that to yours.. alot of the stuff in the aftermarket can be customized to work in different applications. i would say if your looking for more performance start with intake and maybe an exhaust upgrade.. something that flows a little better. Also put upgrading your cooling system as a high priority, it will save you down the road.. almost guaranteed rllywgn
  12. id be interested in running also 1bignose, i know some roads on the washington side particularlly in the camas/washougal area. i should be on the road 100% legal tomorrow (dmv for a new license..). I wouldnt mind shooting over to oregon for some sideways action.. rllywgn
  13. take a look under your car from the backl look for a diff and some axles just forward of your gas tank.. rllywgn
  14. unless its a blown headgasket... most likely will overheat without a t-stat... ive had a couple do this on the limp home.. rllywgn
  15. try the search function for info to the basic mods and even the advance ones theres tips on here from everything from cv boot replacement to waterproofing your distributor. is your car a 2wd or 4wd? the aftermarket is rather soft for our generation of cars so plan on a lot of custom work in your quest for subaru stardom... great thing is, these can be wicked fun cars.. good luck rllywgn
  16. ill start digging in there... 8 subaru's so far... i guess it had to happen sometime, first for everything rllywgn
  17. most good stereo shops or hardwares store will sell the firewall grommet. run your power line on the opposit side of the car from the rca inputs to eliminate electrical noise (alternator whine). make sure you have a fuse within 12" (preferred) of the battery. when grounding, the shorter the better for the ground wire. basically find a good spot to drill your firewall or! run the cable in through one of the factory harness holes. make a small cut in the boot and slide the power line through.. may save some time. depending on how much power your working with heres some suggestions for cable: 8 gauge - up to 300watts 4 gauge - up to 1000watts 1/0 gauge 800watts and up just a few recommendations rllywgn
  18. when you do the swap you can almost pull everything for each front side in one piece (lower control arm axle, hub, strut, etc).. back is way easy as it is. just curious why the air struts though? i have them on my new (old) GL-10 but i already know there gonna give me problems eventually.. but as long as there gonna work.. there neat! rllywgn
  19. being that your in pheonix i can see why you would want a/c... I lived just outside of lake havasu for a while.. i need to pick one up myself but i believe tha haynes manual's do a little better about pointing out part locations. although this may not be exactly what your trying to find, make sure the rest of your cooling system is up to the task of competing with 120 degree weather. I found a 2 row radiator to be basically a necessity downthere.. rllywgn
  20. so the today i was looking under the hood tightening stuff and what not, then i finished, closed the hood and heard the socket tumble (that sound when you leave tools under the hood). so i went to pop the hood and snap.. here comes the hood cable.. dang.. so any tips? i believe it broke near the clasp itself. thanks in advance rllywgn
  21. are you looking to upgrade your radiator? if so, one of the easiest routes is a 2 row radiator, as opposed to the singloe row "heavy duty". check out radiatorbarn.com, they have a 2 row specific for L series for 138 bucks or so with free shipping, plus its all metal. With a little luck there maybe a "high performance" application thats close to fitting ( i havent found it yet) my ea82t wagon lived with mods and a/c in arizona off one of these 2 row radiators, 160deg t-stat and i wired the electric fan to come on with the car in "run" this setup was able to keep my car at stable temp in 115-120 degree weather rllywgn
  22. im currently putting a logging road map together to cover the area from hockinson west to beacon rock state park east and columbia river to just north of yacolt so it covers larch, jones creek and surrounding areas may be useful in outing plans.. rllywgn
  23. im in washougal.. but currently facing some license issues.. i usually frequent the larch mountain jones creek area. would be interested in a meet/trail run. nothing to harsh.. no lift rllywgn
  24. audi was originally known as Auto Union in the thirties and made its way through the first year or so of world war II. in 1947 i think it reformed as Audi as said before subaru had 4wd back in 76-77 but AWD was introduced in a production vehicle by audi first. rllywgn
  25. i wish i could verify the source but, i remember watching a rally documentary a few years back that stated audi was the first to put AWD in a production car so they could use it in wrc competition. i think it started with audi's group N (?) cars back in the early 80's. am i missing anything? rllywgn
