from what i understand, its supposed to make your car run like its cold all the time, they usually plug into your temp sensor and create a signal that makes the car "seem" cold. hope that made some sense i know theres others out there but the cheapies usually just hijack/alter the signal.. your just tricking your computer.. rllywgn

you can change them, but finding them is the hard part. you can add a spacer to almost any car as long as you dont go to extreme by not leaving enough stub to get the bolt over.. what effect are you going for? tllywgn -

I really wanted to keep the key from my last wagon as they can be modified to switch the keys around and keep the neat light. basically looked like a rubber head but it was plastic and had a led flash light (near worthless) and from the factory they came in a jewel box. good luck finding one.. ive never even seen one on ebay.. if you do find one you can modify almost any standard key to fit in it. rllywgn

rllywgn replied to 86subaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
is it blowing gaskets at the head? if so you can use the xt turbo header. you may have to jack the engine up a inch or so... tkaes an hour or so to do the header you have may be warped? i had to replace a header a few years ago for the same reason rllywgn -

i hope this doesnt sound moronic, but I've heard of folks doing there own prot and polish jobs. I havent done this myself but why not. from what I understand you can do it with a dremel tool and some patience. you may not want to do it but its an option, Also with as cheap and readily available as subaru parts are that should make it easier this site may give some some useful information http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.shtm rllywgn -
So I've done my fair share of head gasket replacements in my day.. and i had a thought today (why it didnt come to me sooner i dont know) i have a 1989 toyota supra turbo that ive been tinkering on for years and one of the first things i did was retorque the head an extra few pounds as per suggestions from the supra community. Anyone done this or have any thoughts on doing this? I dont wanna do any more headgaskets on a ea82t for a while. btw the supra 7M-GTE has a tendency to blow headgaskets also.. aluminum block and head and crappy headgaskets (metal is an option but pricey) rllywgn 88 GL-10 turbo sedan ft4wd~5spd~lsd

1993 Loyale won't start. help, please!
rllywgn replied to ghost940's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
starters will click usually when theres not enough voltage to get them spinning or it is going bad. like stated above check your terminals for buildup, that will slow the flow of electricity. if you havent replaced the battery in the year that you've had it, chances are good its on its way out. rllywgn -

what to do with the a/c system? opinions?
rllywgn replied to rllywgn's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
it makes sense with a additional air tank. i called my brother at freightliner, im gonna grab a 4 gal tank and a 120psi pressure switch. ill still need a check valve and airline. Gonna mount the tank in the trunk in that center compartment.. rllywgn -
air suspension is expensive.. i just bought my GL-10 the other day, it has air suspension that was just replaced 5 months ago at 1200 for all 4 corners installed... fortunately the previous owner picked up the tab.. had it been my decision i would have gone to a standard spring setup. rllywgn

from another car or aftermarket? what are you using for fuel management? rllywgn

thats awesome, atleast the ease of which this system can go together. my brother works for freightliner, looks like ill be giving him a call for some parts thanks rllywgn

ive had great luck with trailblazer batteries and there not to expensive (50-60). i believe the foglight bulb is a h3 or h4 55w (short bulb, metal base, single wire) rllywgn
