  1. Also, Can anyone take a picture of a passenger's side unit? I would love to see what one looks like from behind.
  2. I had an interesting Idea for the windows in my xt6. As some of you are likely aware, the xt6 driver's side power window has a function that allows it to either raise the window all the way, or lower the window all the way by "clicking" the power window switch to either extreme. So I though, how could I do this for all window switches? I got my hands on 2 sets of driver's sides switches. I don't pretend to be of any use with electronics but what do you guys think? is it as easy as taking everthing appart and just applying the different switch?
  3. Ok, now it makes the sound when slowing down by any means D= and there's a "fwipita " sound that accompanies it. Pardon the onomatopoeia
  4. Well, I'm going to have to pay someone to help me fix this. Also, I'm planning on replacing my Trans/lsd soon as it is. Is this worth fixing if I'm going to replace said items in the next like 2 months? Or does this need to be attended to sooner?
  5. So recently, I've noticed a small grinding noise that seems to come from the rear of my manual FT4WD xt6. It only happens when using the gears to control vehicle speed going downhill. Any ideas on what this could be?
  6. I NEED to know more about this. Ef that's a sleek car! Is that stock?
  7. I would be interested to know where the tach wire is, in an xt digidash, but on the wireing harness of the dash itself.
  8. I drive an xt6, and I can 100% feel the difference between the grades (87/89/91, 91 being the highest consumer grade gasoline available in Canada) I find that with the ER27, which is for all intensive purposes, a 6cyl EA82, the higher grade fuels deliver a much smoother ride, and reduce high/low end vibrations. I also find that the higher grades net a slightly better fuel mileage, but that it isn't all that noticeable. This is just what I've noticed/the conclusions that I've drawn tho, definitely not an expert opinion
  9. Where do I get MY pre-made rally project I'll love to see where this goes! Also, Wouldn't that be younger brother?
  10. Exactly! I also didn't know if there would be compatibility issues or something of that nature. I don't want to buy an xt6 radiator, only to discover I need one that fits an eg33. Although, would that be any EJ22/EJ25d compatible radiator? seeing as an eg33 is essentially an ej22 with 2 more cylinders? Will there be any performance or reliability issues if I use an xt-6 radiator for the EG33?
  11. I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I'm going to be doing an engine swap on my xt-6, and I'm investigating cooling system possibilities. My issue, is that I currently need a new xt-6 radiator, as mine leaks. So the question, do I buy a new Xt-6 radiator? or should I just hold off, and invest in an SVX radiator for the engine swap? I don't know if the svx radiator will fit into an xt-6 in the same place as the stock one, or even if it could fit. Would an xt-6 radiator work for the EG33? my current radiator isn't leaking terribly badly...yet. I just have to fill it from "low" up to "high" (markings on my coolant tank) every second time I fill my gas tank. It's definitely manageable for about another month or 2 (Maximum) Waddayaguysthink?
  12. Thanks for the info! It's an interesting idea (IMO) too bad i would have to sell many of my organs to afford it Maybe one day, with another xt
  13. Good info! But let's say I was rather set on the idea ( ) How could I potentially go about realizing this? It seems like this idea is pretty close to that of a 4x4. Could a modified (reads HEAVILY MODIFIED) on-demand transmission be made to work? Or are there any other methods that could be applied? Now if only I knew what i was talking about
  14. So I'm curious: Now I very much like the FT4WD transmission in my xt-6, but what if, (without the differential lock engaged) instead of having the torque distributed as 90% to the front wheels and 10% to the rear, it were to be say.... 90% to the rear wheels, and then 10 % to the front? (or any other configuration, although, I'm mostly thinking that I'd like to make the car almost entirely RWD without the Dif lock engaged. What kind of process would be involved in realizing this concept? Is it possible? As if I don't have enough on my plate as it is At the moment , I'm just curious, but once I start marking items off of the mod-list, this would be one freakin' cool project to undertake.
  15. I don't suppose you could either send me a picture, or describe what I need to fab to create this adapter? (if I can?) I searched ebay, and didn't find anything.
  16. From what I've been able to ascertain, there was, at some point, in some mystical place, a button that interchanged mph and kph........Which no one has ever seen or heard of.....but to answer your question, I don't know yet, the digidash is being shipped to me, and I haven't been able to rip it apart yet
  17. I've aquired an xtt digidash (courtesy of Turbone ) and I intend to brow-beat it into my xt6 But, as the car that it was taken from is an american car, and I live in canada, there are certain unit measurements that won't line up (mph-kph) Anyway, I've looked about on subaruXT.com, but after looking through all the threads related to it, there didn't appear to be any firm consensus on how/if this can be done. The most recent attempts appear to have been in '09. SO. I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a solution regarding conversion of a digidash from mph to kph since then, and then, of course, if they might be coerced into parting with said knowledge
  18. Good info! Thanks for the help:D Just out of curiosity, why are they so unsafe, and undesireable?
  19. I'm curious as to the process that would be involved (if it's even possible) to apply the auto-seatbelts that were available on certain trims, to a car that did not come with them stock.
  20. I only ever use it while off of pavement, only when losing traction on snow covered roads and such. The first option sounds best to me, as I'm not planning on doing much offroading if any at all. Do you know of anywhere where I might be able to procure diagrams that would help with the flywheel drilling and adapter plate creation? (I'm assuming I have to make/drill this myself) Will I need a new radiator? and will I need to extend my engine bay at all to accomodate either the EZ30 or EG33?
  21. Thanks for the explanation! Now I feel like a moron But back to my question, is there any way to preserve the lockable differential, while applying a new engine? On another note, I'm going to have a look at an SVX in the PnP calgary, what parts would I need to take from it for this conversion, should the mileage be acceptable, and the engine in working order.
  22. I'm probably just mis-describing it. While running normally, the car distributes 90% of the torque to the front wheels, and 10% to the rear, but there's a button in my center console that changes that to 50/50....or at least that's what I was told....
  23. Which is a better swap? EG33 or the ez30? I'm also interested in putting a turbo into it, which engine is the easiest to put a turbo onto? (also, any recommendations on turbo make/model/year/etc?) I've heard that the ez30 doesn't need an adapter plate, and that you only need to alter the drive-shaft lengh to apply it? I REALLY would love to keep the push-button hi-low 4wd (if that makes any sense ) is there any way to keep it as-is? I love the way it drives! not that AWD wouldn't be great as well :-p
  24. So basically I'm curious as to exactly what steps might be required to bring this idea to fruition. My xt6 is completely stock ATM, except that the air suspension was converted to coil a few years before I obtained it. It is a FT4WD 5spd So what I would like to know is: Where is a good source to find a used ez30 engine (I live in western canada) What else will I need to convert? (suspension, transmision? etc.) Also, any tips that people who have succesfully completed this conversion might have for me And additionally, are there any drawbacks to this conversion? The benefits are obvious Sh*t's about to get fast .......hopefully
  25. Do you by any chance have an EZ30D 3.0L that was in some of the outbacks?
