Tightening the handbrake in a legacy
clutch in - clutch out makes no difference. it is not the clutch you are destroying, but the viscious center differential. the center diff doesnt care if the clutch is in, or out. it's job is to keep the rear wheels moving... and you're burning it up every single time you ebrake whilst in motion. it's not a cheap $$$$ part to fix..... 2002 Impreza Outback Sport Question
Subie Gal replied to tompetey's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXbasically they should line up the same. if you get full strut / spring setup - it should bolt right up. you can re-use your top mounts or you can buy newer/stiffer ones (they call them STi group N mounts) You will want to re use the spring seats if the setup you get does not have them. it's really not that tough wrx wagon, wrx suspension should drop right in. shout if you have questions! Subie Gal replied to timn29's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX*shrug* guess it's your $ .. but IMHO you are wasting it - suppose it wont hurt anything... not sure it will do any good either on a 130k motor

1993 Subaru Impreza lil problem or big
Subie Gal replied to Dazed Dreamer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi have yet to see an older L with an accurate fuel gauge likely you were under a 1/4 of a tank, and encountering fuel cut. (meaning the fuel was very low, and wasnt being picked up) fuel cut will be most evident in cornering. ________________ the wobbling pulley is an issue. was this car in an accident? Jamie

Some newbie questions
Subie Gal replied to Masterton's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXhmmm maybe they dont go that far back in the Legacy line.. yet. that tech site is fairly new.... you could get the paperback manuals from Subaru subaru does it's manuals in the most complex way. back in 92/93 they came in volumes. then there were supplements to those volumes for each new model year (following me? ) each volume dealt with a different aspect of the car i.g. engine, drivetrain, chassis, wiring... etc entire paperback shop manuals are about $300 but buying just the volume or 2 you need could save a lot of $ and get the job accomplished at the same time any idea what specifically you'd be interested in? i can look it up and get a quote Jamie <---works for subaru in parts department

o2 sensor reccomendations?
Subie Gal replied to a post in a topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXwhen dealing with scoob electronics, best to get subaru factory parts have you had the codes from your CEL pulled? are you 100% it is the 02 sensor? and if it is the 02 sensor, i'll be happy to get you a quote - i work for www.allsubaru.com and can get any genuine part at 20%-35% off list price... but you should really make sure that it's DEFINATELY the sensor before tossing money at it .... Some newbie questions
Subie Gal replied to Masterton's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXin the 2.5L 98 vs 00 = totally different animals. 98 - dohc 00 - sohc 98 - maf sensor'd 00 - map sensored there are tons of differences, nearly all the parts differ - you'll want to try to stick with something specific to your model year. is your 99 a DOHC or SOHC? my 99 was DOHC, platinum plugs, premium fuel, etc. Jamie

Exhaust height 2000 OBW
Subie Gal replied to cannonball's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXyep there will be one in the mid section. from the TOP of the exhaust tunnel coming DOWN to the exhaust. likely the hangers are getting tired and need replacing. this may help anyway!! other options would include having an exhaust stop add another hanger to assist in securing the exhaust up and out of the way hope this helps!! Whirring/grinding After Driving Through Water
Subie Gal replied to JT95's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXdoes your wagon have fender/wheel well liners? its possible you just bent the inner plastic liner back against the hub/body of the car and you're now hearing it hit on wheel/tire/etc when in motion this would happen if you went through the water too fast, those liners will tear pretty easily Jamie
