  1. well I picked up the one at Advance & it looks tweeked/twisted like it was dropped on corner, but no signs off actual damage. Debaiting , & favoring not to install. Dont want to do twice. (lifetime warrentee or not.) Is there any temp sealers that are ok to use to buy time. I told dude at counter , to bring in another & none in stock, nor at distributor! So now after seeing Radiator Barn delivers to door for a better price! Hmmmm, anyone else use the Barn? Feedback please.
  2. Most gauges I've got are usually 1/8" MPT or 1/4" MPT , But I need the correct thread to screw into Subie block & on other side of adapter, american standard FIP or MPT . Then I can attach my analogue gauge.
  3. Just found coupon for $50.00 off orders over 150! It worked! here is link. http://www.cheaperseeker.com/sem/Advance-Auto-Parts?t202id=6644&c1=CS_Yahoo_PC_US_Ad1&t202kw=Advance%20Auto%20Parts%20Online%20Coupon
  4. 1/8 ntp would not be any problem but I thought it was a 1/8 british thread size? Neither one makes sence on a jap car anyhow!
  5. This new to me 2.2 has the same slight knock at idle, especially in gear (lower rpm) But I changed everything at once. Oil/filter, TB and pulleys & waterpump, thermostat, drive belts, and flushed AT tranny last. I didn't notice mine either before all the work. But I still wander if the guy I bought it from had a bunch of additives in oil to silence it? Other than that it runs great!
  6. I for one wish there was a roomy 3 row seating awd subie. I have an 97 Odyssey & love it! But wish it were AWD. I understand Japan has AWD Odys.
  7. I ordered from a place out of ph book on a 800#, for my 97 honda odyssey. I compared it to the one in van & looked way wimpy. Did not want to chance the install (I complained) & they refunded my $. So I went to my Advance auto prts , & asked to look at replacement & it looked looked OE or a great copy & they have lifetime warrentee. So I took it & thats been a little over a year ago with no problems. In that same time I replaced my Ford diesel powersrtoke with another Advance radiator & I am pleased. My .02 On edit; I just looked at replacing head light bulbs & saw green weeping at top crimp of rad, & not the upper hose leaking down. Bummer! Looks like I'll be calling tomorrow am for a rad also. Wish there was a way to tighten crimps.
  8. I had a CEL, Used the Advanced auto knock sensor & no CEL now & more pep! There is a coupon link somewhere for $20 off at Advance.
  9. Is this an easy to find adapter? I cant recall ever seeing such, but I never looked either.
  10. Thank you, & I agree about the 5w-30, but I have 144k on odo, & dont know what the PO did for maintenance. Does anyone know what thread is on the sensor, so I can just swap out with proper gauge adapters, 1st time, without taking apart & chasing parts.
  11. Is this sensor location, a good place to try a manual gauge? If yes, What are normal pressures for a 99 2.2? (warm idle) ever since I changed TB & waterpump & all pulleys, & changed oil /filter, (10w30Castrol & OE filter)Seems like there's a slight thunking at idle, & more noticeable when put in drive. (due to lower rpm?) Old oil was nasty from the PO, maybe they doctored oil up to hide sound for me, the sucker?
  12. I was messing around with a spare parts car I bought & one off the phillips screw heads at filler, was buggered up. I simply drill off head.
  13. Someone else posted this & I also replied, because I have the same, mine sounds like a turbo, when accelerating, but I dont have a turbo. No one seemed to have an answer.
  14. I just got a sedan impreza not long ago, had a green door like yours on the car which is silver. Got lucky and found junk yard with a silver door. Couldn't help notice, the doors on my sedan look like they would fit your sport??? Anyone know if this is the case?
  15. Funny , I bought the car from a tad West of Morgantown, Friedsburg or Friedrich? area. Drove it home an hour away, scarey! Needs a bunch of work, but it handles well.
  16. Very good clear response. Thank You ! So I'm gonna lean towards an older 2.2 or a 1999-up sohc 2.5
