  1. So, I can blow air through the diaphragm of my vacuum advance, obviously its not holding vacuum. Sucking on the vacuum line, causes no movement of the distributor linkage. Classic vacuum leak symptoms. It's a Nippon Denso disty. Any options on replacing just the vacuum advance part? I pulled it off and it says 029450-6820, there is also a '4f 3', but anyways, googling around seems to return nothing. I'd rather not replace the entire distributor. Any options out there? Thx again, all.
  2. Another thread revival: Under the hood, which is the vent line and which is the return line? Anyone got pics? I have the triple-nipple fuel filter/separator as well, with another single in single out on hand. I did the original weber install a year or so ago, and never was sure about shich was the vent. But, I've been noticing the tank pressurizing and would like to put a small filter on the tank vent line. Can someone please show me where that might be?
  3. So, my Subie had the AC removed way before I ever picked it up. The AC fan is never working, so basically I'm just using half the radiator at all times. Question is: How does the electrical work for the AC fan, should it just turn on when the AC switch in the dashboard is in AC and MAX AC? Or does the AC fan wiring require some of the other ACl components which have been removed? As far as I know, all I have is an evap as far as the AC goes. My fan still works and I know I can just hotwire it in parallel with the other fan. As of now, this seems the best option. I've noticed the temp climbing a bit recently, the main fan kicks in and 86 2Dr Hatch, EA81 Thanx, all.
  4. How to keep your Subaru Alive. Great info for a checkup and routine maintenance, and much more.
  5. Looking for the thread size in the pic, looked everywhere... came up with multiple answers... possibly metric M12x1.5mm? I kinda wanna make sure before I purchase parts. Loyale 2.7 Turbbo - Thx for the pic. Thx, all.
  6. Ya, currently capped. I see no point to pay for cover at this point.
  7. Can do. Problem is, I broke a port on the thermal vacuum port. So, without a temp switch on the vacuum line I don't think the EGR will work right anyway. Truth is it runs great without the EGR at all. Thx, Ezap.
  8. I have one front axle that needs the doj rebuilt. I also have one cv that needs a reboot. Does anyone know which part numbers I might need to be looking for? (The doj would be priority.)
  9. Get oem axles. Just returned 3 of 4 amwi I believe. Maybe they were empi... Total hassle. The fourth is starting to act up after a week of use.

  11. Haha. I can def do that. I broke the thermal vacuum port during the weberization anyhow. So I won't really benefit from the lower combustion temperatures induced by the EGR?
  12. Just installed a Weber 32/36 DEGV this weekend. I wasn't sure what to do with the vacuum port on the EGR, so I left it alone. Drove 300 miles home just fine and super smooth. Got in touch with Weber and they said to remove the screw-type plug from the front left port on the Weber, so I did. Hooked a vacuum line from that port directly to the Weber last night. This morning on the way to work, the car would hesitate and/or stumble, no noise, just bog down a bit on the acceleration and randomly pick back up. Ran fine yesterday, so I unplugged the vacuum line to the EGR. Now it runs super smooth again. Forgot to add, EGR was recently cleaned, and the intake EGR ports were cleaned during the Weber install. EGR seems to operate properly, opening and closing as I rev the throttle up and down. So, I've read that keeping the EGR is ideal, but not necessary. Am I missing something on the install, I thought it should be direct from Weber to EGR? Any explanation would be appreciated. Thx all. EA81 GL 2dr Hatch
  13. Thanks for your help, Bantum. I spent the weekend Weberizing the hatch, so haven't really had a chance to look into this, but greatly appreciate your input. I have an 86 GL 2Dr Hatch, seems to be the frankenstein of that year. A hatch manual would indeed be awesome.
  14. Will get pics up later tonight. No link attached. Thanks for taking the time, Bantum
  15. Thx, Bantum. 8 and 9 don't look anything like what I have under my seat... 86 GL Hatch. Plus, I don't have power windows... Here's what I have under the passenger seat: Both are seated with a large rubber ring that holds them in place.
  16. Can someone tell me more about these relays? The relay closest to the passenger door is corroded and obviously missing wires, but not sure what either of them do... Looks like #5 and 6 in the pic. Ignition relay and Automatic choke relay. But the car runs fine... how can it run fine without both of these operating properly? Unless... funky wiring jimmyrigs...
  17. When you say the plastic buttons on the rear plastic panel, where exactly are you referring to?
  18. Find the issue? This code returned for me. Thank goodness the others haven't. Probably not the temp sensor then huh?
  19. You might find this useful. I know I did. EA81 OEM Part numbers: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/47811-how-about-an-oem-part-number-thread-for-the-ea81/?hl=497123011
  20. I take it back. PartsPros does not have they part... 'Due to an inventory error...' they have refunded all my money. Bummers.
  21. Thanks Jonas. I ended up calling all over the place. One place lead to another. Finally I called a local guy that could replace the gasket, but he said that the chrome trimming might not fit back into the gasket afterwards, citing China-made, etc., etc. So, after all the calling I found this place online, bit spendy though. Precision used to make an OEM quality gasket, pn wcr 417, but even they have none anymore. Here's a link to a place that has them currently. So, I guess for those who care, get 'em while they got 'em. http://www.partspros.com/5130600.html Thx again all. Oh ya, anybody got any info on the rear hatch window and gasket?
  22. Thank you. Skishop, neither will my subie after I Weberize it. (I think...) haha.
  23. Anybody know which other body styles would match my windshield? I have the 86 GL Hatchback with the EA81. I found these online: http://www.prp.com/Products.aspx?veh=1986~SUB~GL&imgs=Y But way cheaper here: http://www.jcwhitney.com/precision-parts-oe-replacement-glass-weatherstrip-seal/p3039135.jcwx?filterid=d1933y1986g2j1 Looks like they are for 1986 GL Coupe and Wagon, but the company hasn't gotten back to me as to whether the Hatchback works. I'd like to avoid ordering the wrong product. Lots of stuff has been easier to order if I ask for an 84 Brat part (thanks ezapar for that tidbit), but once you start getting into the body, that will change at some point. Not sure where that distinction lies.
