Subaru DL Heater Core Questions
I don't know why there so hard to burp out, I think its because of the desighn of the cooling system, esecialy the height of the heat core compared to the rad cap. That's why you need to get the front end up

Curiosity is Killing me
Gloyal, that's what I was saying. The suspension on an RX is a CLOSER match to a gl hatch than an EJ suspension like the WRX would beIt would be easier to retrofit an Rx suspension than a five lug swap. Its getting hard to find the xt6 rear disc brakes and hubs
-
Curiosity is Killing me
A turbo ej suspension isn't much different than an wrx suspension. Those are both designed on a total different style suspension. An Rx at least was designed off of a similar susension, the amount of ride improvement wouldnt be worth all the work trying to fit an ej suspension into an ea car

Subaru DL Heater Core Questions
These cars are notoriously hard to get all the air out of, as long as the coolant level doesn't go down I'd say its probably fine.

98 legacy outback overheating
mikaleda replied to gunther4272001's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXBelieve me I've been through over heating problems with my legacy and I would think I fixed it and then it would act up again. There is no way that just over heating it and shouting it off is going to get the air out of the system And Subaru's don't burn coolant when the head gasket goes out they push air into the coolant so it won't smoke

98 legacy outback overheating
mikaleda replied to gunther4272001's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNo, that will do nothing for burping the system. The air must be trapped somewhere else or its a head gasket. There is a proper way to burp the system, and it can't be done with the cap on. The bleed screw is there for a reason, use it. You can burp the system by leaving the cap off and running it till it gets up to temp, that should let the air escape, then put the cap back on and make sure there is fluid in the resivour so as it cools it will suck fluid back into the radiator

Subaru DL Heater Core Questions
It sounds like air in the system, try jacking up the front end turn the heater on full blast and reburp the system

Curiosity is Killing me
I think that an Rx swap would make more sense, the Rx is the big brother of the wrx and has a more similar suspension to yours

List of rims that can be used on older Subarus...
This. This is what you are doing. There has been several people on this forum that have said the same thing I have. My point has been made you can use it or not.

List of rims that can be used on older Subarus...
I've had some good off road trips in my subaru, but I always carry two spares in my offroading rig. Also who the hell has rubber cement and nylon cord in their car?! Why not just carry a set of spoons and some tubes. I can flip a tire off a thirteen inch rim in a matter of minuets And if you've popped your tire its probably already off the bead even easier to pull off the rim

List of rims that can be used on older Subarus...
Lol, I'm sorry but anyone who has changed a tire on a split rim is laughing at you. No offense but split rims are out dated the only reason for a split rim is so you can run old bias plie tires, there is absoluty no reason to have a split rim with a radial tire Les schwab won't touch split rim tires anymore because of how dangerous they are. They will make you buy new rims

mikaleda replied to suprunner's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAccording to mitchel on demand there is a retourque procedure of 33 ft pounds after engine has been warmed up, but this is in the older composit gaskets the first gen 2.2 used
