  1. it'll never work:)stoked to see double a-arms....i have thought about it before ...i mean, its just a bunch of rectangles and triangles right?zzz rock on........:)cheers, brian oh yeah, nice Vans, i have set on right now.but i bet mine are way cooler....
  2. buy the lights, put them in different spots on your car, then go to the hardwre store to find whatever it is that you need to mount them where you like them........its pretty simple.cheers, brian
  3. its more a matter of i have tried doing a lot with nothing.....and although my ************ didna really break ....it was probably not wise to ride some of it:lol:...... i have good stores in town that give me good prices.and i guarantee you it never is as simple as the prices you CAn get parts for....that is under optimal condition it is what you have to end up ordereing, where it is coming from, etcc..... then the time, and knowledge..i am just sayin.he doe snot have the knowledge to carry this out.and shouldn't because of his ignorance.it will be a waste of time, and most importantly ....money. i am not saying i know anything, but the people that know me and have seen what i do around my place know that i have tried doing alot of different setups for things.have built alot of thinga that just won't work, etc....and i have rednecked the ************ out of some things too.things that did not break, and worked fine....but it's not just about the math.it is about the total engineering package.i believe this is completely possible.i have been thinking about it for years, and i might even get around to it....but , by then , i will have even more of a killer tool cache....and more duckets to fund it.....to DO IT RIGHT...... cheers, brian
  4. When you guys are here for a bunch of years and get tired of the same wasted space , by the same person, that by HIS description cannot even carry out due to lack of funds, tools, and the ideas in his head.............you would get tired of it too..... defend what you know.and you don't know this sitch..... Uberoo, since you don't have the money to do it properly.don't . it will be unsafe and stupid to try to accomplish without a roll of cash in your pocket.great idea, like none of us have had it!we have, and we weighed the cost, time and such.and still have not gotten around to it.this is not your original idea. you are and have been in over your head for quite some time .....ideas are great, but wasted space and annoyance of other members is getting old.just my .02 cents. you wanna know why we do not leave you alone uberoo.because we like action, and you have none.it gets annoying!
  5. back from the dead:grin:........oh, your gonna love this......cheers, brian
  6. ....it has been SEEN......
  7. eggzachary....what he said^
  8. that is a stock crawl ratio for a subie.well, with a 5speed D/R. 3.545 1.59 3.70 ,3.90 , 4.11 , or 4.44 x3.9 is 21.98blah blah blah:1 x4.11=23.166:1 cheers, brian
  9. oh, i read some thing wrong. nevermind.good luck machining lockers.that should be fun.cheers, brian
  10. what are you going to use as joints?because i found a source of them in canada.let me know.cheers, brian
  11. you need, first gear in soob 3.545 low range in soob 1.59 the diff ratios 0.00? and the lowest range from the bike trans, which would be first gear 0.00 =crawl ratio cheers, brian
  12. To the top for opinions.if you have not run both , only speak of which you have run.if you have not run either, don't even try......i don;t want "my buddies jeep wrangler has a locker and it is cool....." we are talking about subarus.and subarus only.......this is not a debate as to which is better.this is an informative selection of statements.cheers, brian
  13. well, i did not plan to drive mine on the road .....i guess i can make it legal......thats just lights and such. subie body , subie engine. sounds like a plan scott. ANY OTHER RULES?cheers, brian
  14. if you are not confident in using that unit, i will gladly take it . and yes , those are shims.they are utilized to "center" the ring gear to the pinion..... cheers, brian by the way, next time you have to drill one again( i have never had to drill one, so it is weird that a bunch of folks have)i would suggest using some duct tape with some newspaper to cover the innards.
  15. NO sealant........it will ruin your side lash.the lsd swap right up is still around ya know.:grin:cheers, brian
  16. i've seen that brat before, you got any folks that are into toyotas? oh, and the good thing about having to make driveshafts that work is 6.5:1 t-case gears.............cheers, brian
  17. you can use any torsion bar from 80-89 in brats and hatches 80-84 in wagons, sedans, and coupes.front or 4wd, will net you the same torsion bar.it is a double doj , so it adheres the same on both sides, with a stub.....it will roll on its own.cheers, brian
  18. quit theorizing and start building.......it is the only thing that you can gain experience from..."but , but , but i wanna build it right the first time" get over it....just build something!start small, model size.use some things like ten speed bikes as resources.....come on.you wanna do some math, do that math.....

  20. ************inG sick! no clutch? cheers, brain
  21. right, but there has to be a tool to get the clutch off of the EJ.i mean.there is a recessed area that is threaded....cheers, brian
  22. i propose we actually try to straighten this thread out.and talk business.i don't really want a competition amongst a bunch of people.this should remain between scott and i , as it started out as. i don't think with all of the effort going in that we have enough people to actually coordinate a true competition.unless someone pipes up with a proven low stress format............. it is a friendly poke the bear kinda thing.i will talk about coordinating with the staff of wcss to have a mention of it at the show too, or something. but what we need now, is a format for that. i suggest we both state what base rules we want. i want basically an unlimited class.......like racecars.must maintain subie motor subie body , at least a windshield that is stock roo. rtc..... cheers, brian
  23. does anyone have the fsm's for either of these.or know how to get the clutches off? the ea81 compressor is a york model, by borg warner.i am going to use it as an air coimpressor, i need to change the pulley over to the ej one.how do i get it off?regular ol' 3 jaw or what?cheers, brian
  24. i just put a zooki samurai universal joint into an ea trans input: seems to work, heres my logic.they are one mil apart in size.the bigger ones are the zooki.....so ,m they are just a tad tighter in the hole.there are no signs of bind at all.they are brand new u joints.cheers , brian
  25. hey , are you from the marlin board? and i am currently doing the sammi t-case.it is a little bit better option i think for upgrades.500 for gears as opposed to something like 1200 for gears for the nissan , from calmini. i have done some finaglin and have found that the subie, and zooki universal joints are very close in size.i bought some sammi u joints, and have installed a subie trans snout to a zuki jack shaft.
