  1. so i have a brake drum with splines striped out of it and couldent get 4wd it took a wile to figure it out but it gave me a great idea about useing it on a welded diff set up i know of atleast 6000 miles over 3 years with it on the car it did make a funny squeak noise but it never failed i packed grease in it a few times and got the squeak to go away before i realized it wasent right the only wear was on the back of the cone washer and the flat washer and the nut my question is would a drum off of a fwd car work in place of a 4wd drum or maybe use some kind of wheel bearing in place of the cone washer and pack it full of grease to keep it from squeaking or wearing the parts it would be way easyer than changing a axle just one bolt and a jack and keep the drum bolted to the spare tire im gona try a few things as soon as i can get another drum so i can keep my parts cars rollable
  2. I used a harbor freight tubing bender and scrap 1 3/4 id pipe I had laying around the muffler I Robed off an old Honda the bender doesn't like thinwall but all in all the bends are cleaner than the factory bends on the stock pipe I just need to get the angle right on the tip the noises isent to bad it's quieter than my scout by far for free it's great and when I crush it I can make a new 1 and keep the stock pipe for smog
  3. I made my own exhaust from the cat back with a fart pipe
  4. look ma ised gots me a c- in redneck today ised did good huh
  5. I was bored 1 day and figured I'd try and drive up a junk Honda just to see if it would do it but the Honda start rolling so I gave up
  6. im running 27s on my ea82 fi wagon my daily driver my my gearing seems fine 5th gear works good from 60+ i spend alot of time in the mountains its not scary at all handles great 65 in a 40 turn no screeching dosent role alot feels way more stable on the road than it did stock i am running a procomp ignition that seems to make power around 2000 rpms instead of stock 3000 rpm which is great in 5th gear at 2250 rpms at 65 it gives me more low end grunt and makes it really drivable in the mountains in the city or on the highway i wouldent go back stock for nothing
  7. So I was wonderin if there would be a way use this for a welded diff maybe a wheel bearing inside the drum could leave the drum bolted on the spare for a easy swap out
  8. so i finely got a chance to play with my wagon today and found the problem some how the brake drum dident have any splines in it it was just smooth in side i pulled a different one off of one of the others laying around i have pics of the inside of the drums but cant figure out how to upload there im feeling kinda stupid because ive been in there before chasing a squeak and bind pop sound funny that sound isent there anymore ether afew more adjustments and im ready for the trail
  9. theres no noise of any kind its acting like its just not in all the way is there anyway to check it or test it or tricks to manualy engage it with out taking the trans out i dont want to take it out till i can do the duel range swap and i cant do that till i have my scout up and running i dont drive much but i still need wheels but it sure would be fun to play with it in the meantime
  10. with both rear tires on the ground and one front tire off the ground no go if one front and one rear is off the ground i get front tire spin and rear tire spin so it is engaging but no torque on the rear end i have 3 loyales 91 93 89 if theres somethin wrong with the engaging mechinism i can just swap trannys not to big of a deal but no point if thats just how there are and is the duel range better in this department or is it basicly the same locking type system
  11. it all seams to be working i backed it up a ramp til the wheels came off the ground the back tire was spinning but it dident have any torque on it as soon as the front came off the ground the car stoped even if both back tires have traction is the center diff bad or is that just how they are or is it just not engaging all the way
  12. after lifting my loyale i am having a problem geting the 4wd to engage it worked fine before the lift the tires are all about the same size 27" give or take a 1/4 " its a push botton and the light come on but no 4wd any ideas or tricks and is there a way to engage it manualy thanks
  13. a couple of pics of my loyale almost finished
  14. I had the same problem with my bumpers now I don't want to take them off to finish them
  15. I found a thread on the msd box same thing so I hooked it up like they sead to.the old coil wires and all is good I'm noticing more torque between 2000 and 3000 rpms and way Easyer starts and a smoother idle but I dident get that game changing performance I got on the old international v8 but for having it laying around and not costing me anything it seems to be a good upgrade but I wouldent go out and buy one but I'm happy with it now I'm woundering should I install the bright yellow coil or paint the stock one red for more hp because everyone know red paint makes good HP
  16. Where did you guys get your pick up signial from I can't figure out what wire it is
  17. So I'm having issues with wireing up the ignition box and I'm not having ant luck finding the wireing diagram for the ignition so anyone know what kind of pickup it has dose it use a magnetic pick up in the distributer or dose it use some kind of crank senser or hall effect pick up or what and what wire would that pick up be any help would be great here's procomps instructins I'm sure I just hook the white wire some where but. Don't know whitch on
  18. I know it won't increase HP because it dosent do much after 3k except a hoter spark and of corse the rev limiter it sounds so cool when you hit the rev limiter but I'm hoping it will give me some more grunt in the low end where the multiple spark is firering sounds like its atleast worth a try I can allways go back to stock and no out of pocket costs so ill let you all know what happens
  19. Nothin realy just pull the fan and install a electric fan the cdi did wounders for my scout but since I'm going diesel with it I don't need the ignition any more just wondering if it would help on my little loyale I have it just siting around I could put it on a vw but I don't drive any of mine so no need just thinkin I might get a better burn
  20. i have a pro comp cdi unit laying around and i was woundering if it would help with the power at all or if anyone has tryed it before on a fi ea82
