SCOTT, (you're) on..........BUILD OFF 2010
i have a idea what about a build thread and a video wheel off it would be very hard to judge but would make a awsome thread post your build and link a youtube video in the post judge on car apperance wheelin style and overall sickness of the video pick a submit by date and lock the thread when a winner has been picked would open the compition to alot more people where ever they are and can be done every year with very little or no cost outside of the car and wheelin trip can be done in ones own time and run a car you already have or build a new one just post specs in the thread i would be down for that but no way im gona drive up to washington beat my car and hope it will make it home just a idea

Anyone wheel a classic?
i used to wheel my 75 scout it evolved in to a expo rig and blue up out in the middle of nowhere and is now undergoing a motor swap out with the 392 gas pig torque monster and in with a fresh 6.5 chevy turbo diesel theres no way it will compare to the old gas pig but there very cheap head gaskets are easy to change out and did i mention there cheap realy cheap and should put me in the 18-20 mpg range and should tow the suby with out any problems as soon as its up and running it will become my daily driver and the subys will become the toys the suby make the local ohv parks a challenge where the scout just make it look like another dirt road also my complaint with the hummer h1 i had the oppertunity to wheel

fender flares
it's gonna be a while before I'm ready for paint I need 3 sets of these so I'm going to make a mold soon as I get the shapes right I just thought the body work part would be easier if the fiberglass panels ended up at the edge of the original body panels but you're right it would probably look better if they're all the same size

fender flares
thanks i love fiberglass and surfing and i still repair my own boards question on the back should the flairs go from the front of the back door and to the back of the car or should i use the same pattern i used on the front and end mid door and quarter pannels

- freewheeling rear drum for welded rear diff
Duh what- freewheeling rear drum for welded rear diff
okay now we're getting somewhere- freewheeling rear drum for welded rear diff
and why can't you put a bearing in there so that's not running metal on metal ??? I think I need a cocktail napkin explanation and if you don't like my punctuation give more money to local schools and save the kids it's too late for me sorry for the painfull reading- 92 Loyale Body Moulding Hardware
I'm pulling all the molding off my car it won't work with my new fenders I'll be more careful with the clips so I don't damage them if you're in the bay area hit me up if I like the fenders I put them on all 3 cars then I'll have lots of clips and trim molding I was just plan on throwing it all away but if somebody want them come get them- freewheeling rear drum for welded rear diff
if it won't work then how do half the cars out there and every trailer out there running a very similar set up work not new by any means wheel bearings are designed to keep the wheels on maybe I need to draw it out on a cocktail napkin then it'll make sense- freewheeling rear drum for welded rear diff
haha u guys are great im gona sit back and let u guys design this for me with every you cant do that puts me that much closer to doing it i know it works but i dont know how long it will last but hell if i can get away with just greasing it once a year and repace a spring washer every know and again then thats good enuff for me and after 2 years of driving it like this with out any bearings or anything and only part that actualy wore out was a spring washer wheel dident fall off splines on the axle dident wear out even the cone washer was ok just alittle scoreing on the outside where it hit the spring washer but i did only put 6000 miles on it since i had it my girl friend put 2000 on it before i got it and i have know idea how long it was like that before she got it the issue seems to be the reliability of the set up and how long it will last i guess the only way to find out is to do it so next time im at pick a part ill grab a drum and check it out- freewheeling rear drum for welded rear diff
ive already driven on it like that for 2 years every day it hasent worn anything but the cone washer and spring washer there wouldent be alot of sliping because the back wheels are turning the same rate most of the time there would be very little slipping on the axle and any type of lube or bearing would take most of the wear out of the setup i figured just use a wheel bearing in place of the cone washer would eliminate the wear i did see and i figured not having to crawl under a wet muddy car to insert or remove a axle and you still have to remove the axle nut why not just jack up the car and slide another wheel and drum already bolted together it would take longer to get the tools and jack than it would be to swap the wheel and drum as one unit about 30 sec after the car is in the air and the cotter pin out or instead of using a jack just park the back wheel over a ditch or have a strong buddy lift the corner up i dont mind getting dirty its just getting mud and grease out of my dreadlocks is a p.i.t.a. especialy at camp some times it cant be helped but if it can im gona stay out from under the car im heading out to pick a part soon i hope to find another drum and atleast test it out it cant hurt if 2 years of daily driving dident where the axle down with nothing but grease in there than adding a bearing in there should take some of the stress out of it whats the worst that can happen ill need a new axle maybe a bearing at the worst i guess the wheel could fall off but i dought it- Intermittent Violent Engine Shaking
I like the fuel filter idea and it's cheap fix worth a try- Loyale radiator questions
I know you already got your radiator but I got it all copper radiator of the eBay for 80 bucks works great cheap and I can fix on the trail If I have to ditch the fan clutch and snag the electric fan off of the junker and take a Load off if the motor- freewheeling rear drum for welded rear diff
the ruff edges on the inside are from old grease i scraped out with a screwdriver- freewheeling rear drum for welded rear diff
so i have a brake drum with splines striped out of it and couldent get 4wd it took a wile to figure it out but it gave me a great idea about useing it on a welded diff set up i know of atleast 6000 miles over 3 years with it on the car it did make a funny squeak noise but it never failed i packed grease in it a few times and got the squeak to go away before i realized it wasent right the only wear was on the back of the cone washer and the flat washer and the nut my question is would a drum off of a fwd car work in place of a 4wd drum or maybe use some kind of wheel bearing in place of the cone washer and pack it full of grease to keep it from squeaking or wearing the parts it would be way easyer than changing a axle just one bolt and a jack and keep the drum bolted to the spare tire im gona try a few things as soon as i can get another drum so i can keep my parts cars rollable- custom fartpipe
I used a harbor freight tubing bender and scrap 1 3/4 id pipe I had laying around the muffler I Robed off an old Honda the bender doesn't like thinwall but all in all the bends are cleaner than the factory bends on the stock pipe I just need to get the angle right on the tip the noises isent to bad it's quieter than my scout by far for free it's great and when I crush it I can make a new 1 and keep the stock pipe for smog- custom fartpipe
