  1. As the title states, I'm in need of a timing belt replacement on an '04 wrx, preferably this weekend, in the Seattle area. I have all the parts necessary to complete the job, except the time. Name your price, much obliged gents.
  2. 'twas I. I do indeed live in the maple valley area. thanks for the wave!
  3. really just need assistance with the crossmember/diff drop, I've got a pile of hardware and blocks with no instructions on where or how to install it (seems simple enough, right?). I've got the front end torn apart to replace the cv's, but i've hit somewhat of a dead end when it comes to dropping the crossmember. If any of the more experienced mechanics have any pointers on this subject I would greatly appreciate it, or if anybody in the south seattle area has some spare time to offer some much needed driveway guidance, I have cash and beer to compensate. Thanks for your time fellas.
  4. create an exact stencil of your license plate and paint it on the intercooler lol. badabing, badaboom.
  5. they do indeed, if I remember correctly, they only make one standard size for the ea82 chassis, which will only lift 3/4"-1" or so. I talked with the guys at primitive about them a couple months back. soon as I've got the cash, i'll be picking them up.
  6. understood. THANK YOU so much for the explanation guys, much appreciated.
  7. any idea on how much they would need to be widened? could that be accomplished with a dremel and a few minutes, or is it a more serious affair? excuse my ignorance, but I don't have it in front of me to visualize. and again, thank you.
  8. I DID search, and found a bit of info, but not quite enough. I'm in the process if having my motor mounts replaced on my ej'd ea82 and I'm running into some difficulty apparently (outback auto is handling the job on my behalf, as I don't have a hoist or, quite frankly, the time). They are saying the group n mounts don't seem to line up quite right going in, that they are too wide but from my understanding all ej mounts are the same? can anybody provide some quick insight for my ignorance? THANK YOU!
  9. So my EJ swap is on the road (thanks to the tireless efforts of dr.suberdave), but with no o2 sensor at the moment. I got subie101's headers and got the rest of the exhaust done at proexhaust, but they didnt put a bung in for the o2 sensor, and obviously im getting a CEL. My question is would it be better/smarter/more economical to get the bung and sensor put in, or leave it sensor-less and potentially correct it via a retune? Thanks in advance, I appreciate it guys.
  10. took your advice, so far so good! REALLY appreciate it man, thanks a ton!
  11. well spoob, it seems those are all hooked up properly on that side, BUT when I hooked up the vapor canister it was dumping fuel out of the hose on the bottom of the canister after about 5min still... any ideas?
  12. excellent thank you for the response, I'm looking into that as we speak. would you happen to have a picture of the fuel lines you're speaking of?
  13. yeah thats what im working with, i'm just unsure how to properly route the lines. also, whats the white thing thats sitting inline with the far hose? i dont have that..
  14. thats the thing.. I'm not sure if it has a solenoid for the canister (non-turbo, obd1 dualport ej). I tried looping the hardlines together and it started sputtering and died like it was flooded after a mile, so I pulled that off and it spewed fuel all over. I hooked up the canister to the two top lines but I'm unsure where to put the line that comes out of the bottom? thanks guys!
  15. and that will work on an obd1 ej? forgive my ignorance, still new to the EJ world.
  16. looks REALLY nice actually, any chance of a similar kit being available for purchase?
  17. recently got my ej swap in (courtesy of suberdave) but i'm having issues hooking up my vapor canister. is there any way to bypass it, if not, could anybody enlighten me on the proper installation? MUCH APPRECIATED guys!
  18. just got mine! looks incredible, thanks sube101! I'll snap some pics soon
  19. yeah thesamba is a GREAT resource. I have a '64 bug rotting in my driveway lol.
  20. yup, sounds like he drained the coolant, and then topped off the tranny fluid with anti-freeze. i'd drain & change the tranny fluid and top off the coolant, find the proper drain plug (should be in the manual) and change the oil. If that's too much to ask, it's probably best left to the professionals.
  21. nice to see even more PNW members comin through! nice loyale, and welcome!

if you plan on keeping the grill chrome, I would stick with the chrome mirrors. Myself, I would plastidip the grill black and go with the black mirrors. either way it looks sweet man.
  23. hell, NWWO better not disband before I can even get my rig on the trail... I'm still working on making the tires josh sold me fit, as well as an ej swap in the near future so count me in for the summer runs (provided I can figure out my crossmember/diff drop install lol)
  24. Okay I'm at a loss. I understand the concept of how to install it (thanks uberoo!), I just don't have any idea where the 20 different blocks are supposed to go. I'll try to get a picture of the kit maybe some of you gurus can point me in the right direction. It's my daily driver, so I cant just tear into this project blindly and figure out over a couple days, I've got a very limited time frame to wrench so I need to do my homework before I dive in...
