L.B. Has a brand new clutch pressure plate .throw out bearing and flywheel..with about 3 miles on them..if even that.. from when we swapped the motor out.

What do you think we are doing come August 13th at the cookout hmmm???? Tranny swap!! wont take up but a few moments to do so...and no ones butt hairs should end up catching on fire since I dont think my angle grinder will be needed

Just unboxed the BEAUTIFUL NOS rear bumper for L.B. and even though I cross reference part numbers the add said it was for 80-82 ..But it is the right one.. Now to start putting the little blue coupe back together. Backwoodsboy found me the trim clips I need. I could probably have the car back together in a weekend or 2 ..then he should just need tires and some other minor stuff and he can be registered and driveable. Forgot he could probably do with a new transmission in the future since I remember 3rd gears syncro is out...just have to know the trick to it. * Note... I just realized that I dont have one of the bolt assemblies to attach the bumper shocks to the bumper.. The old one was rusted fast onto the old bumper. I thought I had one when I got the new shock but I just checked the box and no bolt

Annd today his NEW rear bumper got here!!! It was a rather squeeeeeful day... First my 78 Datsun 280Z came home from the terrible garage he was at... then L.B.s bumper.... going to start putting the coupe back together this weekend.

Naaa... cause I happen to have a completely screwed up Datsun that needs tons of work ( Thank you Autoshippers for fragging up my car!)

Just an update... L.B.s new bumper should be here Monday or Tuesday :banana::banana::banana:and Backwoodsboy is looking into getting me the trim clips I need..once we figure out which of the 2 kinds I have.

I have no clue about the mileage... the car hasnt seen the road in 2 and a half years ( ?) and not at all since the new motor and weber carb.

Oh John!!! Hey if you get a moment.,....can you see if there are any of the side molding trim clips left in stick anywhere? I need alot of them ( Goes back to polishing and sharpening the Hoff Darts)

On the salt subject... once it gets cold here...it stays cold for a long time... if salt want used the roads would be nothing but sheets of ice ..packed down for months... at least with salt we can get a little bit of a melt and the sun will bake the roads dry. And now they are using that Calcium Chloride stuff that is even worse then road salt for eating away cars. Paulyburger.. I will judge when I see it in person...like I did with my 08...hated it cause of the pictures alone..but when I saw one in person and test drove it..I fell in love. almost 4 years later I STILL love my 08...everything about it.I can easily get 34 mpg out of it...72K miles of complete trouble free ownership. They are dropping it down from 170 hp to 145 ( or close to that) .. which shouldnt be a problem if they lighten the car up. actually I like the roof rack design better on the 2012.. cause the cross bars on ones like mine are noisy!! Its nice that they are quickly removed but the rattles and wind noise can be irritating at times

Putting a 350 in an old Z is actually common practice..cause it fixes the terrible fuel injection or carb problems that the cars have. And the videos of them on YouTube are incredible.

No doubt!!! You dont even want to see the underside of my Impreza ... its sad already. So now I am on the look out for side molding trim clips...and the black pieces for that new rear bumper...I have the side moldings. I am really happy and itching to get him on the road..I have to keep reminding myself about his crunchy 3rd gear..and need to dig out the working digi dash I have...and let it blow out and I think he needed a bushing or something up front..I have to go over him again
