  1. hey, that's the weekend skeet and i will be over.. how long in the week do you all plan to stay out?
  2. Hey Will. I'm really interested in this, thanks for making it a public project .. how much do you plan to up the boost, if at all?
  3. Hey Eric, it'd be cool to see you again. I've been looking forward to catching up on my sleeping in as well
  4. they're not welded, probably just stuck. get some good penetrant like PB Blaster, and a wire brush.. clean off the part of the arm that the plate will have to slide over and off of with the PB and the brush, make sure you take out and save (extras!) all 3 bolts per side (one has a nut on the back) . .i find that a rotating back and forth technique is good for removal. you can pry or use a hammer but don't hurt the plate too much. good luck.
  5. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH thanks anyway, Ed, but I can't. I'm too broke to go to seattle twice, and i don't trust my own car on a long highway trip why'd you have to mention bumbershoot? :banghead: :banghead: heh. oh well indeed... would you mind shipping the Yield anyway please? I found a free XT6 and I need a 5 lug swap no, that wasn't a joke; anyone who wishes is welcome to hate me Ed, thanks again. Could we maybe hijack your camper in a couple more weekends instead???
  6. someone on ausubaru has a 300hp EA82 but the insides are all forged and super-duperized and whatnot. definitely not stock. how much is wise though, given that the crank only has 3 main bearings?
  7. heh. i don't see anything remotely resembling a "trail" there..
  8. w00t for Ed! thanks a bunch. We'll have to draw straws or something
  9. Hi Rob.. I need to look at the exhaust under Skeet's car since that's the one I'd be bringing for you.. i'll get back to you soon.
  10. Hi Ed, thanks! i'll have to leave the goats at home; the car doesn't have enough seatbelts.. um, skeet and i realized that there's actually 4 of us. our friend derek is coming up from portland, and skeet's friend clay is coming with him from kentucky. yeah, we're bad at math. anyway, i realize that there's a difference between TWO or FOUR internet dorks crashing at anyone's place.. but of course we'll bravely accept any offers of free lodgings nonetheless. Hm. i think I've forgotten something so far.. "please." yep, too busy being clever and pushy. my favorite mistake. the four of us would like to ask for someone to please offer us a place to stay and help us keep our trip costs down. We're open to negotiations involving less than all three of the nights we're staying, or involving help with some yardwork or car work or something too. thanks..
  11. an FJ40 for a grand and a half? you've got to be kidding me. I have a soft spot for those as well as for subarus and I've never seen one for that price that was worth buying, let alone trailworthy. Maybe you've got a money making opportunity here, buying $1500 Landcruiser FJ40s and selling them up here for $3000-$4000? Give me a break, and if you're so good with a 4x4 and a welder, let's see YOU build a better Subaru than these guys.. pardon me if i don't hold my breath while i wait, though.
  12. oh, and i'll be bringing my pet herd of goats so we'll need room for about 8 of the little guys. who's got a big yard?
  13. whoops. Hi Rob.. missed your question. um, we aren't sure where we're staying yet.. In all honesty we're hoping to avoid paying for anything resembling a "hotel room" .. anyone feel like opening a Subaru Hostel? anyway... Skeet's flight lands at SeaTac at 1150am on sunday. I will be arriving on Saturday so that if there are any bugs to iron out, I can get them taken care of as soon as possible.. more details to follow!
  14. ja, herr doktor, i vill brink ze lugnuts. und perhaps i vill brink rob/turbone's exhaust as vell, ja?
  15. IF YOU'RE NOT THERE YOU BETTER BE DEAD, OR IN JAIL.. AND IF YOU'RE IN JAIL, BREAK OUT! *ahem* So I'll be rolling into Seattle on Saturday with Skeet's new ride and picking up The Man Himself on Sunday. We plan to leave for Spokane on Tuesday. For you Inland Northwesterners, this is a rare chance to meet the elusive Kentucky Fried Kung Fu Redneck Hippie, since he doesn't make it up here that often.. and who in their right mind wouldn't want jump at a chance to Be Seen socializing with Yours Truly? So, who's not busy this weekend?
  16. cool, thanks guys. i think i will cap off the cat so i don't have exhaust fumes in the engine compartment.
  17. NAPA gave me the wrong size hot air pipe for skeet's car. i could just cap off the snout on the catalytic converter and maybe route some cold air into the air cleaner's snout, couldn't i? I'm playing emissions bandit here, so that's not a factor.. i understand that in the winter he might want it to help warm up the car faster though?
  18. nice job soobme. i checked out your site and the rear bumper / air compressor setup was pretty cool too. :moon: careful you don't get a swelled head with all of these compliments
  19. thanks craig.. :madder: :temper: how's this for a blind guess: I bent it up when i had the engine on the stand :cornfuzz: this is what happens when Andy thinks on an empty stomach time for lunch! (someone is welcome to delete this thread :moon: )
  20. Hi.. anything I can do before installation to the new intake bolts I bought so they don't get all cruddy like the old ones did? since they go thru coolant passages.. (EA82) thanks:headbang:
  21. any opinions? I'd like to have this running by the end of the day and I'd also like to leave the inspection plate on thanks
