  1. Not sure about the door speakers, but from experience, that hatch is a good place to cut holes and mount rear speakers. My 82 GL wagon has aftermarket speakers in the hatch and they sound great.
  2. Just a trip to your local NAPA Auto, I just replaced the passenger side axle on mine and it was ~$60 with a $30 core. Also, is it clicking? if not, its not toast and very much worth re-booting.
  3. I've been looking into getting a second(newer) wagon to replace my GL as a daily driver, and recently came across a 92 legacy with a blown head gasket. http://chico.craigslist.org/cto/4201575099.html this is all the info I have, what should I ask? Im pretty mechanically inclined, and have tackled a head gasket on a honda before, with success. All help is much appreciated.
  4. They are cheaper at radio shack, I know, thats what I did lol.
  5. DIY, or send it to me and I'll do it its like legos
  6. Did they say passing lamp in other markets? Mine says Center Lamp on it, and has a dash light that says the same. Also that looks nice Rust!
  7. So I'm hell bent on putting power steering in my 82 GL wagon, and thanks to another user, I'll be receiving the power steering components off an EA-82. I understand the cross member will get in the way so I have a few questions regarding the whole project. Should I notch out the existing cross member or modify an EA-82 cross member? Will I need to make custom lines? Will I need to replace any pulleys or just belts? What do I need to do with the tierod ends? Is the steering shaft the right length for the EA-82 rack? And most important, has anyone done this?

  13. Thats funny! No, I have been wanting a second car that can go where the other can't. And its Japanese, major plus when it comes to cars.
  14. Very familiar with seafoam, That stuff stopped the tapper noise in my honda:clap:
  15. Typical 1/2 in the crank case, 1/2 in the tank?
  16. Is preimium the suggested fuel? I just put 87 in.
  17. Thats exactly what I mean, except I have no key, just toggles and a button. My guess is simply bad gas because when I went to pick it up, it started right up with no new gas, shut it off, dieseled for 5min before i forced it to stop. Now, after a few gallons of gas added on top, it only goes for a few seconds and stops. BTW, the term dieseling comes from the fact that it runs like a diesel motor, i.e. ignition with no spark.
  18. Ill have to roam the local Pick n Pull
  19. Yes, love that little thing, its great. Durham is in nor-cal, and where is a good place for emblems?

  21. So I just got this little beauty for free from a family friend, and have no clue what to do next. It's an 82 gl wagon that runs, and i was able to drive it home, the first thing i want to address is the fact that it diesels.
