  1. Just plop an EZ30 engine in it and get it over with.
  2. Bill, Was your wife one of the people who where screaming or who got killed? :-p
  3. Awe man, do I have some stories about my OBS. Woohoo!
  4. I'm way late on this WJM. I was pointed to this thread from xt6.net.....from a discussion on oil coolers. Would one of these work on the ER27 engine (which is similar to the EA82 engine in a lot of respects 'cept displacement/cylinders)? If it can fit and I can someone get a complete kit with everything I need, then I want one. I recall something earlier about some additional pieces being needed. Is this still the case? I just want to buy it, have it installed and be done with it. That is....after you get your next batch or if one of the peeps pulled out of the original 'group buy'. Thanks!
  5. Yeah Corky! I fullly understand what you are saying. You may as well talk like 'Uncle Ben' and say "With great power comes great responsibility". The same thing could be applied to raising boost pressure as well. I know I wouldn't hesitate to use it though since I've had some positive experiences with it. I'm thinking even with a simple 60hp shot of nitrous on top of an exhaust and intercooler upgrade and raising to the boost to 13psi or so you'd have a low 14 second/high 13 second car depending on when you spray the juice. And you'd just be getting started. If I didn't get a 2nd XT6, I would've purchased an EA82T turbo and hopefully had a load of fun with it. Too bad I like autos and the 3spd autos suck really bad. Some would say all autos suck but to each their own. Oh well, I know if TWE said they could hang with a stock WRX with their parts, putting a wet shot on top of that would probably have me laughing with tears in my eyes. I'd have so much fun. Have fun!
  6. WJM, I applaud your efforts. Good luck! In the meantime, do any of you have anything against using nitrous? This in conjunction with the exhaust modified, custome uppipe/downpipe and upgraded turbo should make for a killer setup. Your fuelling may need to be upgraded but it should make for a very fun car. I know if I had a 1.8ltr turbo, I'd have put a wet nitrous kit on it as soon as $$$ became available. That would be after all the basic maintenance and tending to the transmission first. So what's up? Why not tinker with nitrous? :-\
  7. You crack me up man. Hehe!
  8. OMG!  I thought this was pretty funny. Any and all of your old school subbies and be plenty fast. All you guys need is what you have been doing (Intercooler, exhaust) and one extra thing. NITROUS!!!! Why haven't some of you utilized this? I would've been all over this had I had a EA81-T or EA82-T. I think a 60-75hp wet shot would do wonders for these cars.....and the tranny *cough*. WJM.....I'm calling you out on this. What do you think your car will do in the 1/4? What does it do in the 1/4? I'll put up my XT6s timeslip up to your turbo. Either one of them. Muhahahaha! What do you say?
  9. I feel your pain. The asking of why am I doing this. My XT6 KEEPS being down for one reason or another. Now, it's simply the brake calipers but still. What did I do yesterday? I picked up a 4th car....another XT6 but this time AWD. I'm in LOVE. It's got more problems than my other car but it drives. *sniffle* Good luck with your insanity. I'm screwed! *Whips out straight-jacket*
  10. Wow Marck! Great, Great info. You can get a Turbo upgrade, headers AND a downpipe for under 1k? Excellent! The long wait will kill most people though. No-one wants to wait that long. That's 2 months or so. :-\ I'm telling you guys, if I had a EA81T or EA82T, I'd be all over this. First thing I'd do is grab one of those turbos.
  11. GD, Where are you getting these numbers from? Is there something that shows this somewhere or are they guesstimates?
  12. Car: 1989 2.7ltr Subaru XT6 (Automatic/FWD) Best 1/4 mile time so far: 16.4 @ 82mph Car is N/A! I'm hoping and praying to get into the 15's once I get my recent brake caliper grinding fixed. I do not know what this translates into as far as 0-60mph goes. Once in 15's, I'll start playing with nitrous. Mods are below......
  13. Totally different in a good way. I lost a lot of low end with the deltacams (around 10lbs/ft of torque). It seemed to have brought back all the low end that I losts with the cams and 3" JC Sports intake. Now it's a steady pull all the way up to redline. It's so continuous and non-dramatic, I'm not sure if there is a gain up top. Before it was slow then started to move around 3500rpm. Now, it starts moving as soon as I hit the gas pedal. I need to get it to the dyno. I was headed to the track this past Friday but smoke was coming from my driver's side wheel well. I need to address my brake caliper locking up situation. Once I get this taken care of, I'll head to the track and dyno. If things seem positive, I'll post up and recommend this setup to anyone that can get it.
  14. Updated! Bends are now 2.5" and 3" stainless steel instead of 2" internal diameter Home Depot PVC piping.
  15. Last I remembered, it wasn't the amount of people ordering that prompted and order but when they had time to work on the header and downpipes. You just had to wait until they had time. Call them up! It may be prime time right now. If I had a EA82-T, I would've been bugging the hell out of those guys to be the first (and maybe only) person to get the parts. They may even make you up one of each so you could stop bugging them. That's what I did with Unorthodox Racing until they made me a pulley for my XT6. Now he (Joe Menechino...UR owner) won't make anymore individual pulleys. Give them a call or calls man.
  16. GK1008, I just sent you an private message about your XT turbo. I called you about it earlier today. Edit: I just saw your car on Ebay. Ahh! That hurts.
  17. NASIOC has changed a lot since the old days. I still frequent there as well as here. Been on both boards forever, yet I'm feeling dumber every day. WJM, can that chart be extended into years?
  18. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/ea-performance-page/subaru-ea-performance.html
  19. I'm down for a subscription. My ONLY concern is the price of the magazine. How much are we looking at? I'm not talking about final price but a round-a-bout price range your company has in mind
  20. It's not necessarily a Cobb air intake but it's the same PRM air filter that the Cobb intake uses. I'm pretty happy it came together. If you are interested in doing the same, I used two PVC pipes, Nissan maf adapter and some 2.5" cut up silicon hose connectors. You'll have to drill a hole and maybe weld to make the vacuum fitting for the IAC (I think that's what it is) and PCV valve.
  21. The flow rate of an XT6 fuel injector is 185cc. It is not swappable with EA82 injectors (At least not the injectors for the EA82-T).
  22. Those are some big words! I have been seeing other here say the same. Does anyone have any before and after cam installation dyno numbers? I'm interested in seeing just how big a difference the cams make. I've seen your dyno sheets WJM but I may have missed others that showed a before and after scenario. You now of any links or what not to someone with this info?
  23. They regrind your stock core.
  24. Thanks for all of the info Joseph. Really informative! Now I'm going to cry. You sold the car to a TJ? That was months ago right? What does he think now? Is he willing to sell the car to me? PM me if you can. I've always wanted a turbocharged Justy. I got to have one. Gotta, gotta, gotta. And a turbocharged XT6.
