Anyone had this happen?
Yep, my bobbed 82 brat did that too.

New RC Project??
Yep, pretty close Eric. Probably a slightly shorter wheel base, and available rear steer so I can turn really sharp or crab steer it

Highway=overheating
On my GL-10 wagon it turned out that I needed a new radiator. Try taking out your radiator and see if the fins are full of crud. (try to shine a light through it from the back) You may just be able to blast it out with compressed air or water. If the fins are toast, probably have to replace it.

New RC Project??
Ha sweet 10x10... way to add at least $100 to my project. I am thinking similar to this, but shorter, and with bigger tires, and a Subaru paint job

New RC Project??
I always seem to get ahead of myself on projects. I am still waiting for a chassis frame in the mail to build my dodge trex 6x6 rc rock crawler (class 2 if any of you follow rock crawling) Well now I am thinking of building an all wheel steering 8x8 with a tamiya globe liner body... maybe run full leaf springs on it... not sure yet.... Probably run some 2.2 Rok Lok tires or something.... Putting me in class 3. Rough sketch I made in photoshop (in about 30 seconds ) The real tires would be bigger than that, but it gives you a rough idea of body perportions and exo-tube work and stuff. Sad that building this may cost more than a cheap subaru (something like $160 worth of axles and $100 worth of rubber on the road, etc, etc.) I thought about maybe building a metal box for the back so it looks like a rally support vehicle meets dakar rally truck or something.... with Subaru stickers painted rally blue of course

Roll on bed liner in wagon
I herculined the interior of my old brat, looked and worked really good, but like it was mentioned earlier, YOU NEED FRESH AIR! I did it in my garage with the door open and regretted it. (that was not enough airflow) As far as I know I am fine, but I didn't feel so good the day after coating the floor :-\

$600 Brat
Too much... I paid $500 for each of my EA81 brats, both ran one was pretty rusty the other just had rust on a fender. Sitting for 10 years and rusty too?? Uhhhh $200 at most to me or just wait for another.

Talking about how to improved MPG?
If you want to go all out, save weight. Pull the back seat. Pull the carpets, saving weight will save MPG. If you have steel wheels, put on alloys. Your MPG is REALLY good already for an EA82

My 1993 Loyale: Work In Progress
I think once you get it painted it will look pretty good from the outside. As long as you dont look under the hood

Thermostat question
Get the OEM Thermostat from a DEALER. Like a Subaru brand one, not just one that "fits" a subaru from autozone or something.... My timing belts in my GL seemed to only last around 50K

Air FIlter
Not saying this will fix the problem, but SOME auto parts stores seem to get models mixed up in certain years (I forget if the STD was still available in 1988) but if other engine types were available it may be THAT filter thats not available. Try looking for a filter for a 92 Loyale or something. Of course then they may get it confused with a legacy

Alignment questions
Tires tilted in at the bottom is camber, not toe. Toe in/out is while looking down from the TOP of the car, the fronts (toes) of the tires point in or out. Camber can be positive of negative (though I forget which is which) for how the tire is leaning. Old subarus pretty much ALWAYS have camber that looks like \ / from the front. If you have abnormal tire wear all your suspension bushings may be toast.. mine were on my GL and I couldn't get a set of tires to last more than 30K. Oh and yes check / replace components before an alignment... as you will need another alignment probably after fixing the issues.

Ignore myspace/facebook/twitter. I agree that they are trouble-prone and from my history, I already got bored with myspace LONG ago, still use facebook, and never even saw the point of useless twitter. Maybe see if we can have a USMB raffle at WCSS??? Like the profits from this single item go to fund the board or something....

Water Pump- RIP
The part is actually pretty cheap. And only takes afew hours to swap it out. Do it now and get it over with. Wait too long and you may go dry on coolant, overheat and eat your head gaskets :-\
