What dealer did you take it to to get fixed?

I was just wondering if I took my vin to my subau dealer if they would be able to give me the service history of the vehicle.

I love the car..its basically what I want but I feel that they are gonna want in the range of 2k for it.

I am seriously considering purchasing this vehicle located in the link below. I am wondering how much shipping would be from WA to PA?? Do you guys think this would be worth it? I am still waiting to hear back on the price. If I was gonna do it Id probably go the route of swapping in a WRX engine if I could find one. I know the dealer just put new head gasket in before I purchased and a new timing belt .

Im wondering if you can put any kind of turbo on the 98 2.5 litre engine ot if anyone makes them.. How hard would they be to install?

Ive called a few dealers and no one can help me..guess im out of luck haha

Well I took it to the dealer and they didnt have the black head master key available for the car witht he emblems on it...Anyoneknow where Ican find one?

I ran into a little problem when i was shoveling my driveway out this morning. It seems that the keys to mus suby fell out of my pocket and I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find a Subaru master key for a 98 2.5 GT with the black head on the key?? I know I can easily have one made but Id rather have the one that says Subaru on it. Any help would be appreciated!!

I just had my 98 2.5GT out for the first time in the snow in NEPA. We got around 8" and I could not believe how well the car went right through it without even being plowed. I dont even have snow tires!!! I Love this car!! I will be totally honest the Subaru beats the ************ out of my Jeep even in deep snow!!

Where is the resonator located??? What will removing this do in terms of performance...or fuel gains

with no doubt the Sube will beat the jeep on curvy roads..but give the jeep a straightaway and byebye..haha I love both the cars...ive had Subarus all my life..and Ive loved the 5.9 Jeeps since they were out in 98.

Thanks for your input...Im thinking about doing the tranny fluid tomorrow morning just to get some new stuff in there....Im familiar with the reliability of Subaru's for sure...my father had 4 wagons when I was younger...80 DL 4WD..82 4WD..Another 82 4WD ...and an 87 4WD and all had well over 100k on them.I also had an 88 Hatch D/R 4WD for a year or two that had 203k on it and would hold up to anything it went through and is actually on the road today.

I bought my 2.5GT about a month ago and I was lucky enough to get all the previous owners maintenance log. It has 89,660k miles on it and has the automatic tranny. The fluid was last changed in the tranny at 63k or so..when should I change the fluid again and is there anything special I should add..the tranns sometimes when cold seems to shift a little hard but is fine once it is warmed up..Any suggestions on maintenace at these miles would be greatly appreciated...I want to keep this car running and looking like new. Thanks!!!

Yeah i thought it was a tad high myself..ill tell him like 6500...and ill def have him ask about the head gaskets... I bought mine about 20 days ago at the same subaru dealer and they told me the water oump and head gasket was replaced already.

Hey guys, my father is looking at a 97 outback limited wagon with 5 speed, power everything has 97k miles on it and the subaru dealer wants $7500 for it..what is this worth you guys think??
