  1. catalysts can't be used up but they can be fouled by contaminants so the don't work after a period of time
  2. with a 2" lift i think you'd not have to worry about the position of the shifter as it would just make your gearstick sit 2" lower im assuming this is what you mean't
  3. what signal does the MS ecu take as priority under normal running, the MAP sensor or the exhaust sensor?

"hijack" while a hydrogen fuel vehical with an onboard fuel generator is sort of the holy grail for running on water i have been looking and experimenting with the vapour carb type systems as there have and are working examples and it seems to me to be more realistic that i could get that type of system to work.   5. there is a site i was looking at yesterday www.unitednuclear.com that sounded interesting,they are talking about a hydrogen generator that sits in your garage and fills hydride tanks in your ride also had on there that hydride filled tanks can carry more and are safer than pressurised hydrogen tanks
  6. i tryed using a truck battery (24v) to produce a hydrogen/oxygen mix a couple of years ago by useing a 10x step up transformer (salvaged from a dead welder and wired up to reverse to what it did in the welder) with 12v running into the transformer had problems with the water heating up to much and never got round to making a flowthrough water system on it go for it man it would be cool it ya got it work like the internet sites reckon it can
  7. yeah im on LPG i got a 100 liter tank slung just behind the cab currently in the process of building a high comp turbo ea82 motor to take advantage of lpg's high octane rating and to get me some decent mpg
  8. if you could produce enough hydrogen then yes the ea will run on it...however hydrogen affects iron based metal and makes it brittle after prolonged exposure, in an ea82 the bore walls,piston rings and valves and seats would be of biggest consern. ceramic coatings in theory can help prevent embrittlement. ignition timing has to be at or after tdc on account of hydrogens fast flame speed hydrogen won't give you a massive increase in power however i wouldn't be worried if it didn't give me a HP increase as if you got it to work your fuel is free hmmm sorry about the doubleup 'puter problems abounding
  9. if you could produce enough hydrogen then yes the ea will run on it.... however keep in mind that hydrogen affects ferris matal and makes it brittle in the ea's case the bore walls would be affected for sure. ceramic coating the bore walls can help prevent this. piston rings and valves could also be affected. spark has to be at or after tdc because of hydrogens flame speed/burn duration

  12. hmmm full advance under boost.....is that like 20deg static + 20deg mechanical/vacuum advance = 45deg btcd under full boost? don't know if i like the sound of that.... good thing propane is 104 octane
  13. when i was toying with the idea of an air to water IC setup i thought that a 1000cc superbike radiator would be the way to go as they have the highest thermal exchange value of any exchanger i could get easily secondhand that was small enough to fit in front of engine radiator. and most of them have an electric fan on them as well
  14. does any know what kind of results i would get from putting a carby distributor on a turbo motor (apart from the lack of knock senser) what i want to know is what sort of retard i would get under boost......i figger if it advances under vacuum then its got to retard under boost do the turbos with a vacuum disty have a differen't vac unit... i.e like the early mazda distys with two hoses going into them
  15. dude if your going to be pulling a motor down and rebuilding it there is a guy up north of Auckland that seems the shizzle for getting parts at real cheap prices like a set of moly rings for $125 and rear seals $13 front $5 (NOK brand, same as OEM) these items i've gotten from him an thats what i payed Bowden Engine Parts is his trade name

  19. just remember man, the bigger your radiator the more effective cooling your going to get in continus use. basictly go oversize on everything

  21. you could make a drawthru setup with the turbo sucking thru the carb but you would have ensure that the turbo has a oil seal on the inlet side that can withstand vacuum as well as pressure. another way i have heard of it being done is to use a carb with the butterflys removed with the turbo drawing thru it and having a turbo type throttle body after the turbo
  22. yeah i had a lambda gas control system on it,worked real good as well
  23. its just had a thought that thats maybe what killed my 'charged motor as i wasn't long after i upped the amount of water going into it that it spat the dummy
  24. Does anyone know if water injection will mess with the readings from a exhaust o2 senser? would hate pistons to go all melty cos it leans out or for it to start playing flamethrower cos the o2 senser reads the oxygen in the steam and richens to compensate
  25. don't think it will go without cutting frame rails as a ea81 is pretty tight in a ea71 brat
