- 86 GL Wagon sticking throttle
get a silicone dry film spray can....its perfect for what you want- rod knock in the Brat.... ugh!
could be that its something to do with it cooling down after running. we had a landrover do something similar years ago..was tired but running ok try'd to start it cold after checking points and clackclackclack- No start problem.
if the pump is an external type(as against an intank) try tapping it with a spanner as it may just be stuck. my fuel pump (carb'd) would get stuck if it sat for more that a couple of weeks at a time- Help me Pick a CUSTOM License Plate for my RALLY CAR!! *UPDATED With Pics (page 2)!!*

you wanna lower a perfectly good subaru?.......you sad little man. seriously if you gonna lower it out, do it properly and put spark plates on it like a full size lowrider:grin:- fried coil, now mass surging
LPGsuperchargedBrumby replied to LPGsuperchargedBrumby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...well i tried swapping the distributor module with a known working one...same problem. the coil i killed had 'use with igniter' written on it, the coil i got new to replace it is a 'universal use' (the first one they showed me had 'use with ballist resistor' printed on it,my original coil didn't have a resistor so i said i need one that doesn't need a resistor). what would happen if the new coil i've got is for a points dizzy? what kind of symptoms would show that it is?- fried coil, now mass surging
LPGsuperchargedBrumby replied to LPGsuperchargedBrumby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...hmmm....i'll try that- fried coil, now mass surging
LPGsuperchargedBrumby replied to LPGsuperchargedBrumby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...amplifier? there is nothing on the two signal wires between the coil and distributor if that what you mean... can an ea82 module be swapped with an ea81 module? as i have on ea82 distributor and the module's look the same- fried coil, now mass surging
LPGsuperchargedBrumby replied to LPGsuperchargedBrumby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...my understanding is that distys either work or don't not half way inbetween- fried coil, now mass surging
LPGsuperchargedBrumby replied to LPGsuperchargedBrumby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...bump- fried coil, now mass surging
The coil on my brumby died, it got so hot that it was smoking, then gave up the ghost completely, so i replaced it this morning. It also blew the ignition fuse. Now the fun begins..... When i tried to start the motor after installing the coil, it would rev to mid-high rpms then the rpms would drop back to nearly nothing then rev up again all while the throttle was held wide open. this would happen 20-30 times in a row till it failed to recover and rev up again or i turned it off I took the disty off and got it tested, thinking that disty module was fried as well, but it tested fine, reinstalled disty..problem still there. i've never run into this problem or even heard of anything like it- Stupid and expensive mistake- 91 loyale starter
if you check and the wires are as there supposed to be and it still clicks try undoing the nuts and sanding the contact tabs- Found a loose castle nut so I checked em All
whats with insulting the tools?......:lol:thats an unfortunately named tool- Roadtrip SD to Seattle
Classic......- Where's my two gallons?
i could get about 8 1/2 liters more in the tank if i filled it to the lip of the inlet, as against when the pump clicked off on its own. then i switched to lpg= no cheating when the filler pump says 'thats it'.- Very stupid opinion???!!!!!......or truth
as far as i know subaru and audi where developing AWD at the same time.....and both came up with the same solution to the same problems- 1993 subaru brat help
ea81 and 4wd conversion would at least make your brat perform the same as those in the rest of the world. a high flow air filter (K&N etc) shouldn't harm your motor, although you might have to rejet the carburetor. some ea71's came factory with twin carbs- how would you build a low comp. motor?
turbo pistons will give you 7.7 to 1 - 86 GL Wagon sticking throttle
