  1. i've got a tow bar on my brumby thats factory option......don't try tow 2 ton up a long steep hill unless you like the smell of clutch:clap: (first low, motor roaring:headbang: ...YEAH)
  2. any HP & TQ numbers yet? any improvment in fuel usage yet?
  3. not that high 130psi on a warm day, gets right down on a cold day 30-40psi at around 0 deg C
  4. hmmm if i was going to do it again i'd go blowthru. still, the way you got it setup will still give vacuum for the distributor advance which can be an act on a blowthru setup
  5. you'd have to build some kind of chassis or subframe to spread the load hitch evenly under the body. its one of the downsides of the monocoit bodys
  6. that looks kinda familier....... if you wanted to you could get an alcohol able carb and run water instead of fuel ,instant water injection (after a leaning the jets), thats what i ended up doing. i also used switched electric fuel pump so i could turn the water off when air temps got too cold why did you go draw thru rather than blow thru?
  7. getting insurance is a pain (& costly ) when your under 25. it helps if you can get someone to lean on them, when i was 18 i wanted to insure my vitara, the best i could get myself was $1900 per year on a $12,000 4wd. Dad said if they didn't do better he'd dump $5M worth of liablity insurance he had with them, result was $1100 per year....much better
  8. i like the idea of this system but some of the things in it or claimed don't make sense to me. it would work well in stop/go driving, but unless you have a huge accumulator, a long hill or even a strong steady headwind on a long drive would drain the reserve pressure in the accumulator faster than the little engine could restore it. the regen' braking i did like, and you should be able to get more than 15% back as im pretty sure the limit on batterys is how fast they can be charged, hydraulic accumulaters don't care how fast fluid gets pumped into them, only the max pressure they can tolerate. im a M&D Engineer trained in (among other things) hydraulic system design and in my professional opinion:confused: the the cost of the pump, hyd' motor, accumulator and valving for a setup like this would suk the big na-na
  9. they are one of the standard subaru mirror types, there's one that parks near my work that has them
  10. Hmmmm that sounds like something that a dealer of the other kind of meth would say......
  11. WJM, this just proves your 'old school cool' at heart
  12. thats what you get for living on the wrong island.....
  13. - the spring in the waste gate controller needs weakened so the control arm will move at a lower pressure. Just the opposite of adding a spring for more boost i've seen it done with a spring setup to assist the rod opening the waste gate, it just takes a bit playing with different spring weights
  14. you get an s7 when you enrol at college? i need to go to college over there as well if thats the case..........
  15. get the people who are cutting and bending your alloy to anneal it along where it needs to be bent, then you can use 6061 T6 rather than the softer 5052
  16. did anyone get any HP/TQ no's on this thing? does anyone know if the supercharger is before or after the throttle body?
  17. its been done before...in here in New Zealand there was a subaru leone RX sedan AWD with a 13b turbo. used to run on the national rally circut
  18. i think its something to do with the piston speed, ea81's are a short stroke motor so 4000rpms is probibly not that high a piston speed
  19. my spark is yellow... i put it down to dirty plug electrodes, its never caused me any problems such as misfire etc
  20. there is no reason that subaru couldn'd build a opposed 4 or 6 diesel. i just hope they take a leaf out of citron's book....i drove a 1900cc twin turbo station wagon a few years ago, now that thing could boggie, it would cruise at 140-150kmh, 90mph and get 25mpg at that speed top speed, i chickened out at 125mph and the car was still gaining speed.
  21. you'll need a high lift cam and titaninum valves for a rota conversion:lol:
  22. just a wild guess.....im thinking that its something to with the choke.....
  23. aussie judging by the # plate and Gumtrees in the back ground
