  1. If i remember i'll get the model number of the ej18 dissy i've got....i think its a mitsubishi electric company one
  2. 2 25/23 spline doj's quote retail = $600 2 25/23 spline doj's quote trade rate $281.25 getting parts for less than half what the uninterested local guys wanted =priceless they arrive on thursay
  3. sooo... the actual axles shaft splines on the ea81 FWD shaft its self are 25 spline?
  4. well i got a 25 spline doj/axle assembly and a ea82 23 spline doj/axle assembly and pulled them apart to see A,if the 23 spline doj had a 23 spline axle shaft in it and B, if the cups would swap. both the 23 & 25 spline doj's have 25 spline axles in them so i can't use them on my brumby rx 'box conversion:banghead:. but the cups swapped so rather than trying to i think i'll shell out the $600 that they want for the off the shelf 25/23 spline cv's so i won't be getting them for another month or so. on a side note the ea82 dojs i've got are hugely bigger in dia than the ones that are on my brumby like about 12-15mm
  5. i should complain to the weather people...im further south than you guys and you got all the snow that should be here, where i can play in it:mad:
  6. i'd take the cut and weld option as then you know you've got good steel up there...........but then im a welder..... and we as a profession don't generally have a whole lot of respect for paint work:lol:
  7. mmmmm......shiny.....almost makes me want to get rid of my ea81..... almost
  8. easy'st way to do it is to find a disty and backing plate off a ej18 carb motor and use a webber for carburation oh and a ej18 carby intake manifold would be helpful as well
  9. hmmm looks like its time to find out what fits and what don't.....off to the wreckers for me:burnout:
  10. i understand your example, but how many many times do's someone drive a car and never use the brakes, especialy in town stop/go type driving
  11. doe's anyone know if the doj innerspline/cage and balls for a 23 spline front axle will fit in a 25 spline cup? what im trying to do is fit a FT4wd RX 'box into a brumby, now i can get off the shelf DOJ's that will do this....but i kinda need all my arms and legs:lol:
  12. do's it sound like its making the noise in relation to engine speed and sound the same in each gear? if it is the its likely to be the the clutch throwout bearing
  13. could use 0.9mm spacer/washer to bring starter backout to its correct position in relation to the flywheel?
  14. as far as i know ej18 carbs only came in 89 legacys so he might have some fun trying to find a replacement carb. btw the dizzy off a ej18 carb model bolts straight onto a ej22 OBD1 allowing you to run a carbed ej22 without a ECU
  15. from what iv'e heard the ea81 and ea82 crossmembers are different widths so if you offset the holes in the lift right i can't see why it wouldn't work
  16. i think they're a sealed setup, you might be able to replace the UJ cross
  17. damn they look too flash.....quick kick some dirt on them before anyone else see's the shiny bling bling
  18. i thought it might be a good idea if i put a 5spd FT D/R in as i have a suspision that i might need a more staunch clutch than i've got now. i wounder if they would sell a ea81 pressure plate with a ea82 disc combo..... hmmmmmmm.....
  19. Do my eyes deceive me....................? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/83-87-SUBARU-BRAT-1800-SERIES-1-8L-STAGE-3-CLUTCH-KIT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33730QQitemZ8037871806QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V
  20. Certifier's will allow pretty much anything so long as its safe, and thats the crunch because alot of then seem to define safe as 5 times as strong as factory, with bigger brakes.
  21. an FI type pump should do it, a carby pump only supplies about 6psi how are you going to regulate the amount of water going into the inlet?
